The "dangerous" storm surges and "destructive waves" generated by Mary are affecting all the Lesser Antilles, with water levels rising from 6 to 9 feet (1.8 and 2.7 meters).

These waves are likely to cause conditions of dangerous sea currents that could endanger the lives of the inhabitants of the area.

A hurricane warning has been issued for the US and British Virgin Islands, as well as for Guadeloupe, Dominica, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Montserrat, Saint Lucia.

There is also a storm warning for Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Saba, St. Martin and St. Eustatius and a hurricane watch for Puerto Rico, Saba and St. Bartholomew and a storm watch for Barbados and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
