  7. Vivo has finally introduced the much-teased smartphone from its X200 series, the Vivo X200 FE. The latest smartphone from Vivo comes equipped with a compact form factor, which has now become a new trend in the smartphone industry. However, the handset also comes loaded with interesting features, including a MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ processor, an impressive 6,500mAh battery, and more. This is not it! The brand has also retained its legacy of good cameras with the Vivo X200 FE, and you still get Zeiss-tuned cameras on this compact smartphone. I got the chance to use the device for a while, and here's what you need to know. To start with the design, the Vivo X200 FE is probably one of the most compact smartphones in the brand's lineup, and it is turning out to be a new trend in 2025. Vivo is not the first or the only brand to introduce a compact flagship smartphone in the industry. However, the brand has tried to give some distinct features from the rest of the compact phones. The handset is available in three colour options: Amber Yellow, Luxe Grey, and Frost Blue. I got the Amber Yellow colour option for the review, and it surely looks quite attractive and different. I liked the colour iteration Vivo has used for Amber Yellow, as it is a subtle variation of the colour, which looks warm without being too tacky. The rear panel comes with a new Metallic Sand AG finish, which is soft to the touch and feels premium. Moreover, the flat metal frame makes it comfortable to hold. The handset is just 7.99mm thin and weighs 186 grams, making it one of the lightest and most compact smartphones available. Interestingly, you also get IP68 and IP69 ratings, making it a water and dust-resistant phone. Coming to the display, the Vivo X200 FE features a compact 6.31-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1216 x 2640 pixels. The display is Zeiss Master Colour Display certified and offers up to 5,000nits of peak brightness. The device also features 460ppi pixel density, 2160Hz PWM dimming, and 120Hz screen refresh rate. It also packs HDR10 support, an in-display fingerprint sensor, and Schott Xensation Core protection. The display looks sharp and vibrant during my initial testing. We will talk more about this in our upcoming review. Advertisement In terms of performance, the Vivo X200 FE is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ processor. The handset comes with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The handset also runs on FunTouch OS 15, which is based on the Android 15 operating system. The company has reduced the bloatware, and we will talk more about this in our upcoming review. Let's now talk about its biggest USP: the cameras. The X200 FE comes loaded with a triple-camera setup on the rear panel, including a 50-megapixel primary Sony IMX 921 VCS bionic sensor with f/1.88 aperture and OIS support. The device also features a 50-megapixel IMX882 telephoto sensor with up to 3x optical and 100x zoom. Apart from this, you also get an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens. The handset is loaded with a 50-megapixel sensor with a fan /2.0 aperture on the front. That said, the company has also retained its partnership with Zeiss for this smartphone. Apart from the tweaks on the hardware level, you also get Zeiss-branded multifocal portrait modes, Zeiss Style Bokeh, and more. The camera surely looks interesting as it captures some good details in daylight. I will talk more about this in our review that drops in a few weeks. Lastly, the Vivo X200 FE is loaded with an impressive 6,500mAh battery, which features a third-generation silicon anode technology. The device also comes equipped with 90W fast charging support, though it lacks wireless charging. That said, the Vivo X200 FE is an interesting smartphone that comes with a compact, premium, and sleek design. The compact form factor makes it quite comfortable to hold in your hand. The display is sharp and offers an almost bezel-less experience. The cameras are surely one of the biggest highlights of this model, while the rest of the specifications look decent. As far as the competition is concerned, the Vivo X200 FE might go against the OnePlus 13s, which was launched recently. https://www.gadgets360.com/mobiles/reviews/vivo-x200-fe-first-impressions-8871703
  8. Windows 10 users can now sign up for extended updates, meaning security patches that are delivered past the end-of-support deadline to keep the PC safe. As you're doubtless aware, it isn't long before Windows 10's End of Life arrives, when Microsoft officially stops supplying security updates (or feature updates for that matter). This happens on October 14, 2025, and after that date a PC without updates will potentially be open to exploits. The Extended Security Updates (ESU) program allows for Windows 10 users to sign up for another year of updates, all the way through to October 2026, and enrollment for that scheme has now opened to consumers. In a blog post (mostly pertaining to the most recent update for Windows 11, and the heap of new AI features therein), Microsoft explains that: "Starting today, individuals will begin to see an enrollment wizard through notifications and in Settings, making it simple to select the best option for you and enroll in ESU directly from your personal Windows 10 PC." https://www.techradar.com/computing/windows/hate-windows-11-and-dont-want-to-upgrade-you-can-now-extend-the-life-of-windows-10-until-october-2026-heres-how
  9. Leading AI companies have been bragging about the number of GPUs they use or plan to use in the future. Just yesterday, OpenAI announced plans to build infrastructure to power two million GPUs, but now Elon Musk has revealed even more colossal plans: the equivalent of 50 million H100 GPUs to be deployed for AI use over the next five years. But while the number of H100 equivalents looks massive, the actual number of GPUs to be deployed may not be quite as great. Unlike the power they will consume. 50 ExaFLOPS for AI training "The xAI goal is 50 million in units of H100 equivalent-AI compute (but much better power-efficiency) online within 5 years," Elon Musk wrote in an X post. One Nvidia H100 GPU can deliver around 1,000 FP16/BF16 TFLOPS for AI training (these are currently the most po[CENSORED]r formats for AI training), so 50 million of such AI accelerators will have to deliver 50 FP16/BF16 ExaFLOPS for AI training by 2030. Based on the current performance improvement trends, this is more than achievable over the next five years. https://www.tomshardware.com/tech-industry/artificial-intelligence/elon-musk-says-xai-is-targeting-50-million-h100-equivalent-ai-gpus-in-five-years-230k-gpus-including-30k-gb200s-already-reportedly-operational-for-training-grok

  11. When asked how it could justify an $80 price tag for upcoming RPG The Outer Worlds 2, developer Obsidian had a sympathetic response: Ask Microsoft. Ask we all did, and it seems the Xbox overlords eventually agreed with the public's bafflement—or at least didn't like the looks of The Outer Worlds 2's pre-order numbers—because Obsidian announced today that the price will now be $70. Dear Galactic Citizens! We have received your SOS via skip drone about the pricing. As an organization devoted to making sure that corporations do not go unfettered, we at the Earth Directorate have worked with [REDACTED] to revise the price of The Outer Worlds 2. — @obsidian.net (@obsidian.net.bsky.social) 2025-07-23T17:46:14.332Z "We have received your SOS via skip drone about the pricing," Obsidian posted on its Bluesky account in the tone of the satirical RPG. "As an organization devoted to making sure that corporations do not go unfettered, we at the Earth Directorate have worked with [REDACTED] to revise the price of The Outer Worlds 2." It wasn't all that long after big games jumped from $60 to $70 that Nintendo got the ball rolling on a new $80 standard with Mario Kart World. It looks like Microsoft's eagerness to follow suit has subsided, as the company told Windows Central that it will keep "full priced holiday releases" at $70, which it says is "in line with current market conditions." This year's other Obsidian RPG, Avowed, released at $70, and is also available on Game Pass, as new Microsoft games are by default these days. Less than six months after launch, Avowed was discounted to $46.89 during the Steam Summer Sale. Meanwhile, though, we've seen some publishers pushing prices in the other direction. One of the most praised RPGs of the year, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, launched at $50. Survival game Dune: Awakening also launched at $50 https://www.pcgamer.com/games/rpg/the-outer-worlds-2-will-no-longer-cost-usd80-as-microsoft-backs-away-from-plans-to-follow-nintendos-lead/

  17. Well, in true OpenAI fashion, the AI giant is teasing something big. At first, there was a pretty cryptic video teasing a livestream for later today that was posted on X (formerly Twitter) and then a follow-up post that shed a bit more light. OpenAI is promising to spill the beans soon, though. With a livestream kicking off at 10AM OnePlus Pad 3 was unveiled last month with a 13.2-inch display. Today, the Chinese tech brand confirmed when the new Android tablet will be available for purchase in India. The OnePlus Pad 3 is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, coupled with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. It packs a 12,140mAh battery and offers 80W fast charging support. Through a press release, OnePlus announced that the OnePlus Pad 3 will be available for sale in India starting in September. The pricing details of the device in the country will be announced in the coming weeks, closer to its sale date. It will be available in 12GB + 256GB and 16GB + 512GB RAM and storage configurations. The tablet will be sold in Frosted Silver and Storm Blue colours. OnePlus Pad 3 was launched globally on June 5, but OnePlus did not reveal its India pricing or availability details at the time. It costs $699 (roughly Rs. 60,000) and GBP 529 (roughly Rs. 60,000) in the US and UK, respectively, for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage model. The Indian variant is likely to be available at similar price points. OnePlus Pad 3 First Impressions OnePlus Pad 3 Specifications OnePlus Pad 3 has a 13.2-inch LCD display with 3.4K (2,400×3,392 pixels) resolution and up to 144Hz adaptive refresh rate. The screen offers a 7:5 aspect ratio, 315ppi pixel density and 600 nits peak brightness. It boasts a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset under the hood, alongside up to 16GB LPDDR5T RAM and up to 512GB UFS 4.0 storage. It ships with Android 15-based OxygenOS 15. The OnePlus Pad 3 flaunts a 13-megapixel rear camera. It has an 8-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls. The tablet features eight speakers and two microphones. It comes with the Open Canvas feature for multitasking. OnePlus Pad Lite With 11-Inch Display, 9,340mAh Battery Launched It is compatible with the OnePlus Stylo 2 and the OnePlus Smart Keyboard (sold separately). The Pad 3 houses a 12,140mAh battery with 80W SuperVOOC fast charging support. https://www.gadgets360.com/tablets/news/oneplus-pad-3-india-open-sale-availability-specifications-8900706
  18. PT, 1PM ET, and 6PM BST, we'll embed the watch link as soon as it's live below, and TechRadar will bring you the news as it breaks. So what can we expect? Well, the rumors are flying high as OpenAI could show off GPT-5, a new version of Operator, and even an AI-powered browser has been teased. What's most likely, though, is the ChatGPT Agent, as the video description for the livestream gave us the best hint. The video shown, which ends with a note of the live stream, has a mouse cursor moving between five teams, and the follow-up post reads "ChatGPT 🤝 Deep research 🤝 Operator." Certainly, that checks off the boxes for OpenAI's main products, so this will be big. Well, that livestream covered a lot of ground and gave us a quick deep dive into ChatGPT Agent. Here's the important detail, though. ChatGPT Agent is going live today for Pro, Team, and Plus users. Folks on the Pro plan will get 400 queries a month with ChatGPT Agent, while Team and Plus users get 40 a month. OpenAI expects the rollout to be completed 'soon' for Team and Plus, while all Pro users should receive it today. Sam Altman closed, noting the risks and forthcoming ones, again, AI Agents. Noting that ChatGPT Agent will feature a robust alert system, with lots of warnings everywhere, but that will relax over time. https://www.techradar.com/news/live/openai-july-17-announcement-live-event
  19. Chinese-linked hackers have intensified cyber-espionage efforts against Taiwan’s semiconductor industry and financial analysts, conducting coordinated attacks between March and June 2025, with some operations still ongoing. Reuters reports that cybersecurity firm Proofpoint has attributed the activity to at least three previously undocumented China-aligned groups—UNK_FistBump, UNK_DropPitch, and UNK_SparkyCarp—while a fourth group, UNK_ColtCentury (also tracked as TAG-100 or Storm-2077), attempted to build trust with its targets before deploying a remote access trojan (RAT) known as Spark. These attacks are believed to be part of Beijing’s long-term push for semiconductor self-sufficiency, driven by U.S. export restrictions and Taiwan’s dominance in advanced chip manufacturing. The hackers have focused on organizations involved in semiconductor design, manufacturing, testing, and supply chains, as well as investment analysts tracking Taiwan’s semiconductor sector. Proofpoint estimates that 15 to 20 organizations were targeted, ranging from medium-sized businesses to major global enterprises, along with analysts at at least one U.S.-headquartered international bank. While Taiwan’s major chipmakers, including TSMC, MediaTek, UMC, Nanya, and RealTek, declined or did not respond to comment, Reuters has been unable to confirm which firms were breached or whether any of the attacks succeeded. The group says that in all cases, the motive "was most likely espionage." The campaigns relied on varied tactics. UNK_FistBump launched spear-phishing attacks from compromised Taiwanese university email accounts, posing as job seekers and attaching malicious files disguised as PDF resumes. Opening these files triggered the deployment of Cobalt Strike beacons or a custom C-based backdoor known as Voldemort, previously linked to attacks on over 70 organizations worldwide. UNK_DropPitch, on the other hand, focused on financial analysts at major investment firms, masquerading as staff from a fake investment company and delivering malicious PDF links that downloaded ZIP archives carrying DLL-based payloads. These malicious DLL files, when run using a side-loading trick, installed the HealthKick backdoor or opened a reverse connection to hacker-controlled servers like 45.141.139[.]222. In contrast, UNK_SparkyCarp used a different tactic, sending fake account security emails that led victims to phishing sites such as accshieldportal[.]com, using a custom tool to intercept and steal login credentials. The oldest trick in the book. TeamT5, a Taiwanese cybersecurity firm, has reported an uptick in email-based threats aimed at Taiwan’s semiconductor industry. According to Reuters, the firm has noted that attackers often exploit weaker defenses in smaller suppliers and related industries to gain a foothold. In June, for example, a China-linked group known as Amoeba launched a phishing campaign against a chemical company critical to the semiconductor supply chain. This strategy of targeting peripheral (secondary) sectors—such as raw materials, logistics, or consulting—underscores a broader effort to compromise the supply chain by exploiting its less-protected edges. The scope and scale of these campaigns underscore the growing geopolitical tension around Taiwan’s semiconductor dominance. Proofpoint researchers, including threat expert Mark Kelly, have warned that entities not previously on the radar are now being singled out. In late 2023, it was discovered that the Chimera group breached Europe’s NXP—the continent’s largest chipmaker—remaining undetected for over two years and stole sensitive chip design IP. Kelly noted that attackers sometimes sent just one or two highly targeted emails, while other campaigns involved as many as 80 emails to infiltrate entire organizations. China’s embassy in Washington responded to the reports by reiterating that cyberattacks are a global issue and that China “firmly opposes and combats all forms of cybercrime”. Earlier this year, it was reported that the U.S. Treasury was broken into, and the government discovered Chinese hackers targeting Guam's critical infrastructure. As such, these operations show clear alignment with Chinese state interests, as the targeting, tools, and tactics bear the hallmarks of China-linked cyber-espionage groups. With the Taiwanese semiconductor industry sitting at the heart of the global chip supply chain—and with ongoing export control measures from the U.S.—the sector remains one of the most valuable intelligence targets in the world.
