Pakistan has a brand new hero. During this year’s Olympic Games in Paris, Arshad Nadeem, a 27-year-old from Pakistan, defeated India’s defending champion, Neeraj Chopra, in the javelin throw. Not only that, Nadeem set a new Olympic record, throwing the javelin 92.97 meters (or 305 feet), becoming the first Pakistani to earn an individual gold medal. It’s the first time the South Asian country has earned a medal since 1992, when its field hockey team notched a bronze. It’s the first gold medal since 1984—also earned by the country’s field hockey team. It was a hard-won victory for Nadeem who grew up one of eight children in a mud brick house in rural Punjab. He got his start in javelin by using “long eucalyptus branches with iron tips on their ends,” his brother told Reuters. Alien Shooter: Vengeance (also known as Alien Shooter 2) is a top-down shooter video game for Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X, developed by Sigma Team as a sequel to Alien Shooter. A remade version called Alien Shooter 2: Reloaded features changed game mechanics and a few new levels. Alien Shooter: gameplay contains many improvements over its predecessor Alien Shooter. Players now have a selection of eight characters to choose from, each character's stats and starting equipment being different from one another. These stats affect, for example, the type of weapons the player may use and how effective they are, or the maximum number of hit points a player can have. Players can earn experience points for killing enemies and completing objectives. After earning enough experience points, the player gains a new level and is allowed to increase their stats.[1] Items may be bought from shop terminals scattered throughout the levels. Players can visit these stations to purchase weapons, implants (which act to increase a player's stats but are not permanent and can be removed), armor, ammunition and miscellaneous items, such as flashlights or medkits, with money found in the levels or earned from completing objectives. Some items and weapons require certain status levels to be used. For example, to use more lethal weapons, players must meet the weapon's minimum skill requirement in its respective skill in order to use it. Players are also allowed to pick from a list of perks during the initial character creation. There are total of eight perks for players to choose from - such as health regeneration, thievery, and hypnotism - and once chosen, the player may not change their perk. It then becomes one of the character's stats and can be upgraded as such during the game. Once the game is finished, players may upload their scores to a global scoreboard. Ferrari F50 HISTORY: Since 1973, when the traditional front-engined 365 GTB/4 Daytona had been replaced by the mid-engined Berlinetta Boxer, Ferrari's top-of-the-line 12-cylinder 2-seater model had used a mid-mounted 180° 12-cylinder flat engine. The Berlinetta Boxer had later been developed into the Testarossa, the final evolution of which was the 1994 F512 M. Under the presidency of Luca Cordero di Montezemolo,[5] who took office in 1991, the F512 M replacement was developed as a traditional front-engined V12 grand tourer. After 30 months of development, the Ferrari 550 Maranello was unveiled in July 1996 at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.[6] The model's name referred to the 5.5-litres total engine displacement in decilitres and to the town of Maranello, home to the Ferrari headquarters and factory.
