Total revenue to the digital services and software industry is forecast to grow at an average annual rate of 19.0-20.0% over 2023-2025, due to consumers’ increasing reliance on the ease and comfort provided by digital services and the post-Covid growth in mobile-based contactless payment systems. In addition, the industry will also benefit from greater investment in businesses’ digital transformation and the accelerating drive to build added value using digital technologies. 1) Digital services: Revenue will rise by 22.0-23.0%, supported by continuing growth in normal day-to-day transactions on digital platform that expand outside areas to more rural regions. Large digital service providers are increasingly partnering with other businesses to offer a more comprehensive range of services. 2) Software and software services: Revenue is expected to strengthen by 11.0-12.0% per year, driven by business transformation towards real-time big-data analytics especially on cloud service system to add value through mass customization of goods and services. 3) Digital content: Revenue growth should average 13.0-14.0%, driven by stronger performance by the gaming industry, in particular by the development of games that offer new types of experiences for greater platform engagement. The animation and character segment will enjoy a recovery thanks to stronger demand from overseas buyers from the entertainment industry, especially from growth in Over-the-Top streaming. Krungsri Research view During 2023-2025, overall revenue to this business has a potential to grow further for every group of segments especially for digital services business that is forecast to be a main driver of overall performance. Digital services: Revenue will tend to strengthen on more intense competition between enterprises to offer platform-based services to customers, while new technology is allowing companies to develop and expand the range of services that they offer. The markets for e-retail, e-logistics, and online media e-content are now sizeable and so turnover and growth rates will be healthy for players active in these. While the e-tourism and e-health markets are still small, the reopening of Thailand will help to support faster rates of expansion. Software and software services: Revenue growth will be supported by expansion in the provision of cloud-based technologies and in the greater reach of 5G networks. This, together with the use of large-scale data analytics, will then allow businesses to engage in the mass customization of goods and services. In terms of turnover, the best-performing areas will be SaaS, and software integration and customization, which will then have the consequence of boosting demand in adjacent areas in supply chains, such as software consultancy, although competition will remain intense. Digital content: Revenue growth will accelerate as platform-based game developers and distributors offer gamers new experiences, boosting turnover. For players working on animation and character development, revenue will also benefit from the recovery in demand for entertainment and media in export markets. Overview The digital services and software industry is responsible for the design of products and the offering of services that are based on digital technology. This includes the development of digital platforms and the use of these to deliver informational and other types of content to users, as well as software development and the provision of software services. This has now become a crucially important part of the value creation process towards digital economy. Indeed, the global industrial transformation is now shifting business leaders’ attention away from a focus on raising the efficiency of industrial processes to a new business model of digitalization that uses digital technology to add value to goods and services. These processes are thus tending to broaden the ways in which value-added is built into digitalized services (UNCTAD 2021, Figure 1). https://www.krungsri.com/en/research/industry/industry-outlook/services/digital-software/io/io-digital-software-2023-2025

Intel has submitted a progress report to the Ohio Department of Development. Its progress in developing two new semiconductor manufacturing facilities in Licking County hasn't been stellar though, far from it. The iconic US chipmaker promised $20 billion of investment in the project and that the new fabs would be operational by 2025. However, the report (PDF) published by Ohio Governor Mike DeWine on Friday suggests that Intel has invested just $1.5 billion and the fabs will be operational "between 2027 and 2028." Intel outlined the following key points, to mark its progress: Intel has spent approximately $1.5 billion through December 31, 2023 A further $3 billion is contractually committed Intel had 69 employees from 14 Ohio counties working at the project site in December Construction workers from 75 of Ohio’s 88 counties have contributed to the project to date Intel's supplier footprint has grown from 150 to 350 since the project announcement Plans are ready for an office building, water treatment, and reclamation facility, and an air separation unit on-site Keep the above points in mind, if you will, as we recount Intel's announcement in January 2022, and our coverage of the beginning of construction near Columbus, Ohio, in September of the same year.Intel's $4.5 billion spent or committed is less than a quarter of the $20 billion promised. Moreover, the two first fabs at Intel Ohio should have been operational next year – not a date that could easily be fudged into 2028. We must also remember that Intel has received "more than $2 billion in incentives," towards this project.Despite clear delays to Intel's previously-promised progress, Ohio politicians still seem pretty happy with the situation. "Construction logistics are quite amazing," enthused Lt. Governor Jon Husted in a state press release. "Barges of equipment are coming up the Ohio river, getting offloaded in Adams County – and then the organization of enormous truckloads of equipment making their way to Licking County – adds to the billions invested already by the company and the growing number of Ohio-based suppliers." Completion of Intel's promised project would certainly be good for Ohio. It is billed as the largest single private sector company investment in Ohio’s history, after all. It is also expected to create 3,000 direct Intel jobs providing $405 million in annual payroll. According to official estimates, supporting businesses will also generate 20,000 job vacancies, and contribute $2.8 billion to Ohio’s annual gross state product.Mark Tyson is a Freelance News Writer at Tom's Hardware US. How was your weekend? Did you do anything fun? Did you watch any good movies? Did your videogame sell over a million copies and break the Steam record for a city builder with over 170,000 concurrent players within a single day of launching into early access? Not a lot of people can answer yes to that last one, but developer Slavic Magic can. According to Hooded Horse, publisher of Manor Lords, the early access city builder had a record-breaking launch: See more "Since yesterday's launch Manor Lords has already sold over 1 million copies & hit a peak Steam concurrent player count of 170k—highest ever for a city builder (or for other different genres like GSG/4x/colony sim)," the publisher said on Twitter. Sponsored Links If you own a mouse, you have to play this game. No Install. Play for free. PanzerRush Not only does the medieval city builder boast a player count that puts it in the company of multiplayer shooters like Helldivers 2 and Apex Legends, but there's surely even more people playing since Manor Lords is also on PC Game Pass. Heck, there might even be one or two people playing it on the Epic Store. Crazy, but true! LATEST VIDEOS FROM PCGAMER CLOSE How do those concurrent player counts stack up against other city builder and strategy games? According to SteamDB, Manor Lords tops Sid Meier's Civilization 6 (162,657 CCU peak) and Cities: Skylines 2 (104,697 CCU peak). Impressive! Historically, no other games in that category have a peak CCU above 100,000. But just because a game is a certified hit doesn't mean the work is done. With all those players, there were so many bug reports and feedback threads that the official Discord "ran into an issue overnight where the number of active threads exceeded capacity." Among some of the issues: players aren't thrilled that archers might as well be throwing marshmallows at their enemies, which Manor Lords' developer said will most likely be addressed in a future patch. (Turns out, archers were OP in an earlier build so they were nerfed for launch, but perhaps a bit too much.)There are other problems, such as the low productivity of Manor Lords' sawpits, that could also use some attention, and plenty of features that aren't yet available in early access. That includes odors, apparently: there's an overlay for "smell" in Manor Lords, indicating that buildings like butchers and tanneries might bother villagers living too close to them. One thing that won't change, at least: there's a villager with a name that feels like a joke but is historically accurate. By the way, we've been playing Manor Lords right along with you. If you're just getting started, check out our Manor Lords' beginner's guide. Former investment minister Osama Saleh has agreed to fill the same post in Egypt's new interim government, Al-Ahram Arabic news website reported on Tuesday. Saleh had served as investment minister from August 2012 until May 2013 in the government of deposed Islamist president Mohamed Morsi. He was then replaced by Yehia Hamed, a spokesperson for the Muslim Brotherhood's political arm, the Freedom and Justice Party, from which Morsi hails. Born in 1960 and a graduate of Cairo University's faculty of commerce, Saleh served as chairman of Egypt's General Authority for Free Zones and Investment (GAFI), a governmental entity concerned with regulating and facilitating foreign and domestic investment, from 2009 until his instatement as minister. Saleh told Al-Ahram on Tuesday that he accepted the post offered to him by Interim Prime Minister Hazem El-Beblawi after former tourism minister Mounir Fakhry Abdel Nour turned it down. Saleh said that despite this "difficult time" facing the country, he would complete the mission he had begun while in office, in particular by encouraging investment. Saleh said he is confident that the general climate in Egypt will attract investments once the situation settles down, referring to ongoing political unrest in the wake of Morsi’s ouster. https://english.ahram.org.eg/NewsContent/3/12/76593/Business/Economy/Osama-Saleh-to-return-as-Egypt-investment-minister.aspx

Their mobile phones were discovered to contain video footage of the torture They confessed to the crime and were referred to legal authorities for further action CAIRO: Egyptian police have arrested and charged five people for animal cruelty, the Interior Ministry said. In the first incidence, two people were held in Alexandria, northern Egypt, after a photo appeared on Facebook showing one of them holding a dog over the edge of a balcony. They confessed to having committed the crime and will face legal action, the ministry said. In the second incidence, three people were arrested after they posted a video clip on social media showing them torturing a cat. After examining the video, the police arrested the torturer, cameraman as well as the publisher of the clip. The trio are residents of Boulaq El-Dakrour in Giza Governorate. Their mobile phones were discovered to contain video footage of the torture. They confessed to the crime and were referred to legal authorities for further action. In March, Egypt’s public prosecution ordered an investigation against a cafe worker in Cairo after a video clip surfaced showing him torturing cats. He later faced legal action. An investigation revealed that he had committed the torture as a joke with friends for the purpose of uploading the clip on TikTok to attract views. The video was discovered on his mobile phone. The public prosecution ordered the release of the accused, pending investigation, on a bail of 500 Egyptian pounds ($16). https://www.arabnews.com/node/2344156/middle-east

Rabat - Chinese battery parts maker CNGR Advanced Material Co and Moroccan private investment fund Al Mada are reportedly teaming up to build an industrial base in Morocco. The construction of the industrial base will begin this year inJorf Lasfar, Bloomberg reported on Tuesday, adding that the total investment to carry out the project is estimated at $2 billion. The project will focus on developing battery components in line with the growing electronic vehicle industry. The initial production target is set for 2025, Bloomberg reported. Moroccan television channel SNRTNews quoted a joint statement from the two companies highlighting Morocco’s assets, including phosphate resources – a key material in the production of phosphate-lithium cells, which are increasingly used in electric vehicles. The two partners emphasized the importance of the project, saying that its production is sufficient to equip more than one million electric vehicles per year. The production will mainly be exported. “The partners are in talks with the OCP Group to secure the necessary phosphate,” SNRTNews quoted the statement as saying. Morocco has been stepping up efforts to become a continental and international leader in the EV sector. The turnover of the Moroccan automotive sector reached $7 billion at the end of June, with an annual growth rate of 34%, according to data from Morocco’s Exchange Office (OE). Read also: Morocco's Automotive Industry Achieves Record Exports of MAD 44 Billion The data from the OE’s report said the increase in the sector’s exports was a result of a rise in demand across all segments of the automotive sector. Imports from the wiring segment rose by 44%, while imports from the construction segment rose by 26%, and the interior vehicles and seats segment by 34%. The Moroccan government expects the automotive sector to continue to outperform growth projections as it intensifies efforts to transition to electric car production to maintain its strong manufacturing position in the global transition to a greener economy. In September 2022, the country unveiled an ambitious industrial plan that aims to expand electric car production capacity within two years. According to the plan, Morocco’s electric car production is set to reach 100,000 units per year within two to three years, doubling current production levels. The North African country also continues to attract industrial operators active in EV and car manufacturing companies from around the world, thanks to its strategic location just a few miles away from Europe. The country is home to manufacturers like Dacia, Renault, Peugeot, as well as Chinese manufacturer BYD and German manufacturer Volkswagen, which have all set up production facilities in Morocco. © Morocco World News. A joint East African bid from Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania has also won the rights to hold the 2027 tournament. Morocco replace Guinea, who were stripped of the tournament in October last year because of concerns about infrastructure and facilities. Zambia and a joint Nigeria-Benin bid were also in the running for 2025. But they agreed to withdraw in order to allow Morocco to prove its worth in the hope it will increase the chances of Africa hosting the World Cup. Morocco is jointly bidding for the 2030 World Cup with Spain and Portugal. 2030 World Cup: 'Right time' for Morocco's sixth bid Patrice Motsepe, president of organisers CAF, said all of the options for both tournaments would have made Africa "proud". He added the decisions had been based on the level of infrastructure made available by bids, including facilities, accommodation and hospitals. "The decision that was taken today was to focus on African unity, development and growth, in the context of those countries withdrawing," Motsepe said of Morocco's success, which also came after Algeria withdrew on the eve of the vote. "A huge amount of money is being spent on Morocco for 2025. The bid from Morocco to host the World Cup is not just for Morocco, but for the whole of Africa." LISTEN: MOTD Africa - The greatest African captain? Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania's selection represents the first time nations from the Council for East and Central Africa Football Associations (Cecafa) will stage the tournament since Ethiopia in 1976. "The three nations came together because our standards and requirements are very high," added Motsepe, likening expectations for the organisation of tournaments to those held by European administrative body Uefa and the South American Football Confederation (Conmebol). "Sometimes it requires hundreds of millions - sometimes billions - in infrastructure. It makes me proud when football brings countries together. Afcon 2027 is going to be a huge success." The next tournament will take place in Ivory Coast from 13 January until 11 February 2024. The draw will take place in Abidjan on 12 October at 1900 GMT. https://www.bbc.com/sport/africa/66934633

It comes amid ongoing attempts to try to reach an agreement for a ceasefire and hostage releases. But at a meeting of hostages' relatives, Mr Netanyahu said he would invade "with or without" a deal. His comments follow renewed warnings by the US against a Rafah invasion unless civilians were properly protected. In a phone call with Mr Netanyahu on Sunday, US President Joe Biden "reiterated his clear position" on Rafah, a White House statement said. Mr Biden has previously described an invasion of Rafah as a "red line".On Tuesday, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres said an assault on Rafah would be an "unbearable escalation", appealing for "all those with influence over Israel to do everything in their power to prevent it". More than half of Gaza's 2.5m po[CENSORED]tion is in Rafah, having fled there to escape fighting in other parts of the territory. Conditions in the overcrowded city are dire, and displaced people there have spoken of a lack of food, water and medication. The West Bank-based Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said on Monday that an invasion of Rafah would be the "biggest catastrophe in the Palestinian people's history". Israeli sources told the Reuters news agency on Monday that plans to attack Rafah would be shelved in favour of a "sustained period of calm" if a ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israeli was reached. Days earlier, Israel's Foreign Minister Israel Katz told Israeli Channel 12 television that "if there will be a deal, we will suspend the [Rafah] operation".But on Tuesday Mr Netanyahu insisted that the war would continue until Israel had achieved all of its objectives in Rafah. "The idea that we will halt the war before achieving all of its goals is out of the question," he said. "We will enter Rafah and we will eliminate the Hamas battalions there with or without a deal, in order to achieve the total victory," according to a statement issued by Mr Netanyahu's office. It said the families urged the prime minister and his national security adviser, Tzachi Hanegbi, to continue the war and ignore mounting international pressure. Many hostage families however have publicly demonstrated for the government to agree to a deal to return their loved ones at any cost. About 130 hostages from among 253 kidnapped by Hamas during its unprecedented attack on Israel on 7 October remain unaccounted for. At least 34 of them are presumed dead. The rest have been released or rescued. Indirect talks have been at an impasse for weeks, although the US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, said on Monday that he hoped Hamas would accept what he has called Israel's "extraordinarily generous offer" for a truce. Meanwhile the head of the UN's refugee organisation has warned that the looming invasion was causing people in Rafah to live in a state of "constant traumatic stress disorder". "People have not yet been asked to evacuate from Rafah, but there is a sense that if there is no deal this week that could happen," Philippe Lazzarini told reporters. "My colleagues on the ground are describing constant state of trauma among the people." Mr Netanyahu also denounced as "a scandal on a historical scale" recent reports, citing Israeli officials, that the International Criminal Court (ICC) at The Hague could be preparing to issue arrest warrants for Israeli government leaders and military commanders on charges related to the war. "I want to make one thing clear: no decision, neither in The Hague nor anywhere else, will harm our determination to achieve all the goals of the war," the prime minister said. "Israel expects the leaders of the free world to come out strongly against this scandalous step, a step that will harm the self-defence capacity not only of the State of Israel, but of all democracies in the world." There has been no announcement from ICC Prosecutor Karim Kahn KC. However, his office has been formally investigating alleged war crimes in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, East Jerusalem and Gaza Strip since June 2014, and Mr Khan has confirmed that the investigation will cover the 7 October attack and the ensuing war. Israel has never ratified the Rome Statute, the ICC's founding treaty, and Mr Netanyahu insisted that the ICC had "no authority" over the country. However, the ICC ruled in 2015 that it had jurisdiction because the Palestinians had ratified the treaty.White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said on Monday that the US - which has also not ratified the Rome Statute - did not believe the court has jurisdiction and did not support the investigation. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-68928996

will reportedly miss its target of developing a modem for the iPhone that could see the company replace a vital component sourced from Qualcomm. The iPhone maker was previously tipped to introduce an in-house modem chip for its smartphones within the next couple of years, but a new report suggests that it might be delayed by a year. Apple employees have reportedly been working on the project since 2018, but the company's alternative to Qualcomm's modem is said to be years away. A Bloomberg report, citing unnamed sources at Apple with knowledge of the matter, states that the company is expected to miss its goal to develop an in-house modem chip by early 2025. Instead, the chip could be developed by the end of that year, or in early 2026, according to the report. Earlier this year, Qualcomm and Apple renewed a deal for access to the US chipmaker's modems for Apple's iPhone upcoming models. Apple's Johny Srouji announced in 2020 that the company had begun development of a new modem chip for its iPhone models. However, it has faced challenges during development — despite acquiring Intel's modem unit for $1 billion in 2019. The firm missed its plan to include its own 5G modem in an iPhone by next year, and the report suggests that it will not be available until 2026 — when Apple's deal with Qualcomm is set to end. Here's How Apple Could Prevent Overheating Issues on the iPhone 16 When Apple eventually launches its own 5G modem, it might not offer performance on par with competing smartphones equipped with Qualcomm's modems, according to the report. One of the versions being developed by Apple does not offer support for the short-distance millimetre wave (mmWave) bands that offer extremely high 5G data speeds under certain conditions. Apple would also have to ensure that none of the technologies supported on the chip infringes on Qualcomm's patents. Successfully developing its own modem chip would give Apple an advantage over other manufacturers — the company already develops its own mobile processors for its smartphones, tablets, computers, wearables and other devices. However, the report suggests that Apple has run into roadblocks during the development of the component and might eventually introduce the chip on its most affordable smartphone — the purported successor to the https://www.gadgets360.com/apple-iphone-se-2022-price-in-india-100987
