Xiaomi 13T and Xiaomi 13T Pro with Leica-tuned triple rear cameras and MediaTek Dimensity SoCs were launched in global markets last year. Now, Xiaomi is said to be working on the Xiaomi 14T and Xiaomi 14T Pro. The source code reportedly found in the HyperOS code indicates the possible specifications and codenames of the Xiaomi 14T series. This suggests that the Xiaomi 14T Pro will have identical specifications to that of the rumoured Redmi K70 Ultra. Both models are said to go official in September in global markets except India. Xiaomi has not shared any information on the Xiaomi 14T and Xiaomi 14T Pro, but Android Headlines have found a reference to both handsets on the HyperOS code. As per the report, Xiaomi 14T Pro is codenamed "rothko”. The Pro variant will reportedly debut as a rebranded version of the unannounced Redmi K70 Ultra and could feature a MediaTek Dimensity 9300 SOC. It is said to have "N12" as the internal model number. The Xiaomi 14T Pro is said to offer wireless charging and include a telephoto camera with Leica lenses. The Redmi K70 Ultra, however, might lack these features. The Xiaomi 14T is reportedly codenamed “degas,” inspired by the name of the po[CENSORED]r French artist Edgar Degas. The report claims that the handset appeared on the HyperOS source code with the internal model number “N12A“. Further, the report states that the Xiaomi 14T Pro will go on sale in different markets with different model numbers “2407FPN8EG“, “2407FPN8ER“, and “A402XM“. The Xiaomi 14T is said to launch in global markets with model numbers “2406APNFAG“, and “XIG06“. Both the base and the Pro variants are anticipated to be sold in many countries except India. The standard Xiaomi 14T and Xiaomi 14T Pro are said to share similar camera and battery specifications. Like the Xiaomi 13T series, they might run on different chipsets. The Redmi K70 Ultra is believed to go official in China in August. Based on this, the publication speculates that the launch of the Xiaomi 14T series will happen in September. Since this has not yet been confirmed by Xiaomi, the information should be taken with a pinch of salt. https://csblackdevil.com/forums/forum/18898-gadgets/?do=add

Israel's war cabinet has used a tried-and-trusted phrase to describe its next moves against Iran. Israel would respond "in the manner and at the time of our choosing". Benny Gantz, the opposition leader who joined the war cabinet after the Hamas attacks of 7 October, emphasised the cohesion of Israel and its western allies. "Israel against Iran, the world against Iran. This is the result. That is a strategic achievement which we must leverage for Israel's security." The words Mr Gantz used did not rule out another attack on an Iranian target, or a first overt Israeli strike inside Iran (Israel has hit Iran's nuclear programme repeatedly, with cyber-attacks and the assassination of officials and scientists). But there might be time for the diplomatic response President Joe Biden wants from the meeting he has called of the G7, the richest western countries. This most recent escalation of the war that has spread across the Middle East since Hamas attacked Israel began two weeks ago, when Israel attacked Iran's embassy compound in Damascus. The air strike, on 1 April, killed a senior general, his number two and other aides. The decision to attack was not coordinated with the Americans. Israel must have assessed the opportunity to kill senior commanders of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) as a risk worth taking. Publicly Israel offers an unconvincing argument that the presence of senior military officers on diplomatic premises made the building a legitimate target. More importantly is the fact that Iran chose to interpret the airstrike as an attack on its own ground. Very quickly, it was clear that Iran would respond. Iran's message was not transmitted with nudges and winks, but in unequivocal statements from its supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Israel, the US and their allies had plenty of warning. Mr Biden had time to get back to the White House from a weekend trip to his home state of Delaware. Iran chose to open the attack not with supersonic ballistic missiles, but with slow drones, that were on radar screens for two hours as they approached their targets. It was a bigger attack than many analysts expected from Israel's most bitter enemy; plenty of reasons for many Israelis to expect a response from their own side. For the first time Iran launched weapons - around 300 drones, cruise and ballistic missiles - from its own territory at Israel's. Almost all of them were stopped by formidable air defences; Israel's own considerable capabilities, bolstered by the US, UK and Jordan. Their allies, especially the US, helped them out enormously over the course of the night. President Joe Biden reiterated his promise: "ironclad" security for Israel, essentially saying 'we've got your back'. In return, the Americans want restraint from Israel. President Biden sent Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a clear message. Iran's attack has been thwarted, Israel has a victory, so do not escalate this any further by responding with military strikes on Iranian soil. A senior western diplomat told me that it was now vital to draw a line, to stop further escalation. Drawing a line seems to be Iran's hope too. It has signalled that Israel's attack in Damascus has been answered; it will only escalate further if it is attacked again. The Iranians seem to want to cool the two weeks of crisis and threats that started with the Israeli strike on their diplomatic compound in Damascus. Perhaps Iran was hoping to do more damage than it did. Or it may have been open about its plans to give Israel less reason to hit back. Iran wanted to restore the sense of deterrence it lost when Israel attacked the compound in Damascus. That might be harder after Israel and its allies stopped almost all the projectiles launched their way. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-68812884

The generation gap is alive and well in the compact-SUV segment. Take the Dodge Hornet and the Ford Escape: Both hit all the compact-crossover requisites: four doors, seating for five, all-wheel drive, turbocharged four-cylinder engine. But 23 years the senior and well into its fourth generation, the Escape is an elder statesman. The Ford's buttoned-down, respectable image and calmly capable virtues exist in stark contrast to the new-for-2023 Hornet, which displays all the nervous energy and bravado you'd expect from a brand known more for the pathological hawking of horsepower than for providing sensible, efficient family transportation—and we mean that in the best way possible. Our Ford Escape ST-Line Elite would sticker at $43,355 as tested (based on 2024 pricing); skip the sunroof, the Premium Technology package, and a few minor items, and you're at $39,455. The top step in the three-rung ST subline (ST-Line, ST-Line Select, and ST-Line Elite), it sits above the base Active trim ($30,990 for the front-wheel-drive version and $33,160 for all-wheel drive for 2024) and up near the Platinum ($38,610 FWD and $40,110 AWD) but below the front-wheel-drive-only plug-in hybrid ($41,995). The ST-Line Elite treatment includes the usual bits such as a unique mesh grille and rear "skid plate," a larger rear spoiler, 19-inch wheels, and a monochromatic exterior treatment; ours was rendered in a coat of Atlas Blue Metallic paint that perfectly complements its refreshed-for-2023 exterior. Interior touches include a flat-bottom steering wheel with red stitching, the latter extending to the doors, seats, center armrest, and floor mats. It's not a bad place to spend time, but the vibe is undeniably understated. The GT Plus Dodge Hornet is similarly positioned and was priced at $44,725, with $6730 of options. The GT Plus sits above the base Hornet GT ($32,995) but below the Hornet's plug-in-hybrid variants, which start at $42,995. Ours arrived finished in an attractive Gray Cray paint ($495) and equipped with the GT Blacktop and Track Pack bundle ($3990) and Tech Pack Plus ($2245). That means gloss-black mirror caps and window moldings, dark "Hornet" and "GT" badging, 20-inch wheels, and red brake calipers. Black faux-leather eight-way-adjustable sport seats with red accents, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and bright-finish pedals highlight the interior. Cosmetically speaking, it's a lively and style-rich effort inside and out.The pair find some common ground in engine displacement, with both using a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder. The Escape is good for 250 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, while the Hornet has a touch more muscle at 268 ponies and 295 pound-feet; both deliver full torque at 3000 rpm. In addition to packing slightly more power, the Hornet has a nine-speed automatic transmission, while the Escape has an eight-speed. Though their powertrains appear similar on paper, our testing revealed distinctly different personalities. The Hornet is a bit of an outlier in this segment, its Alfa Romeo DNA imparting a lively and sporty disposition that the Dodge logo doesn't try to hide. Though its profile and marketing materials say "compact crossover," its personality is more hot hatch than family hauler. It's not surprising when you consider the Hornet is assembled alongside the Alfa Romeo Tonale in Italy and shares with its continental cousin, among other items, its suspension, dampers, and all-wheel-drive system. (The Jeep Compass is built on the same platform, so you know where to look for a ruggedly styled albeit less speedy alternative with a significantly lower MSRP.) HIGHS: Youthful attitude and styling, quick reflexes, supportive sport seats. LOWS: Limited passenger volume, personality has no "off" switch, overly firm ride. VERDICT: With edgy style and the manners to match, the Hornet loves to romp, but its firm ride and aggressive throttle tip-in never take a break. Though its elevated ride height helps the Hornet identify as a crossover, it looks a little forced, given its otherwise youthful and mildly aggressive appearance. Its dynamics reinforce that overt sportiness with a stiff suspension tune fond of communicating the details of every pothole, accurate but artificial and overly flinty steering in any setting, and aggressive throttle tip-in with a hint of torque steer that arrives quickly enough to surprise not only the driver but also the vehicle's traction-control system. Dodge has a performance reputation to maintain, and we get that—hammering this on a track would be fun. But our crew of C/D staffers opined in near unison that we would trade a bit of its edginess for a more linear and refined response in nearly every metric. As one editor noted, "It's still a tall crossover, and the red brake calipers can't do anything to change that." Those calipers also can't imbue the Hornet with class-leading braking, as it required 177 feet to stop from 70 mph, 11 feet more than the Escape. https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/comparison-test/a60265763/2023-ford-escape-vs-2024-dodge-hornet/

An Australian magpie has been returned to a Queensland couple after an intense debate that gripped the nation. Juliette Wells and Reece Mortensen were granted a special licence to care for the magpie, dubbed Molly, who was held by wildlife authorities for six weeks. Molly shot to fame via the couple's Instagram account, which documented its relationship with their pet dog, Peggy. The licence comes with strict conditions barring the couple from profiting from the bird. In their first Instagram post since Molly's return, Ms Wells and Mr Mortensen said they were "overwhelmed with emotion". There was, they say, a "little cry of happiness" from the magpie when it was released. Ms Wells and Mr Mortensen rescued Molly when it was a chick in 2020. The couple amassed more than 800,000 followers with an Instagram page, which features whimsical pictures and videos of the magpie interacting with their Staffordshire terrier. But questions were raised about the ethics of keeping an Australian magpie as a domestic pet. Earlier this year, the Department for Environment, Science and Innovation (Desi) said the magpie had been "taken from the wild unlawfully with no permit, licence or authority". In an emotional video, the couple announced they had "surrendered" Molly to the authorities on 1 March, because of a "small group of people constantly complaining" about the animal being in their care. "We are asking why a wild magpie can't decide for himself where he wants to live and who he wants to spend his time with?" the couple said in a post online. This turn of events sparked mass public outcry in Australia, with more than 150,000 people signing a petition to secure Molly's return. The uproar led Queensland premier Steven Miles to intervene. He said returning Molly to the couple would be a victory for "common sense" and urged the authorities to grant the appropriate licence. After seeking expert veterinary advice, Desi found that Molly was "highly habituated", meaning the bird could never be returned to the wild. The department says it returned Molly to the couple's care following "extensive legal advice". "I know how strongly people have felt about this - thank you again to everyone who has been in touch about it." Though Molly is back at home, Ms Wells and Mr Mortensen must adhere to strict conditions in order to keep their wildlife carers' licence. Those conditions require the couple to undertake training, provide evidence of Molly's well-being and make "no ongoing commercial gain" from the magpie. This last point might prove the trickiest. Ms Wells has already released a book about Peggy and Molly via Penguin Books Australia, and the couple have sold calendars and T-shirts featuring images of the duo. A post promoting the book - Peggy & Molly: Be Kind, Be Humble, Be Happy - remains pinned at the top of the duo's Instagram page. Before Molly's return, Ms Wells and Mr Mortensen told Australia's ABC News that they had profited from Molly, though they suggested they had not made very much. "My intention was not to make money," Ms Wells said. "It's not about that." "We can't make a living on the money that's been made - definitely not," Mr Mortensen added. Prof Gisela Kaplan of the University of New England told ABC News people should not raise birds without specialist knowledge, and that she hopes Peggy and Molly's situation is a "one-off". Australian magpies - which can live up to 30 years - are a protected native species and are considered vital to the nation's ecosystem. They are named after their resemblance to the Eurasian magpie, to which they are not actually closely related. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-australia-68816253

Arsenal revelled in a scene of high anticipation when they walked out to face Aston Villa but were left looking at a sea of empty red seats 90 minutes later as the Premier League title race took a potentially pivotal twist. Liverpool stumbled first in a shock home defeat by Crystal Palace before Arsenal's supporters, well at least those of them left, departed Emirates Stadium as stunned as their Anfield counterparts after Mikel Arteta's side slumped to a 2-0 loss. The title pursuit is nowhere near over with only two points separating the top three, but there is an ominously familiar feel to Manchester City's presence at the top of the table when the pressure valve is tightened. What will be so frustrating for Arsenal and Liverpool is they were both architects of their own downfalls with desperately poor performances just when they needed victory most. When the heat was on they were both found wanting. 'You can hear panic set in' - Shearer on how pressure is affecting the title race Premier League title: Will Arsenal, Liverpool or Manchester City win? The big question now is can Arsenal and Liverpool hit back from such savage blows or has the title momentum shifted decisively in Manchester City's favour? It was all so different before Sunday's late kick-off, with the Gunners having been handed a huge opportunity to re-assert their authority at the top. Arsenal's supporters trooped in to the Emirates buoyed by the favour Palace had bestowed on them by completing a dismal week for Liverpool after the draw at Manchester United and heavy Europa League quarter-final beating by Atalanta at Anfield. Liverpool looked leggy and stripped of their usual intensity in the 1-0 defeat by Palace, showing all the signsof running out of gas after energy expended in a chase - for a time at least - of four trophies. However, the hope engendered by Liverpool's loss actually seemed counter-productive for Arsenal, with nerves sweeping around the Emirates in double-quick time when an early breakthrough did not materialise. The noise at times smacked of desperation, of fear that old failings might come back for a side who were chased down so ruthlessly by City last season. They did. City are the experts at applying pressure, as we have seen in previous campaigns, but even they could not have expected both their rivals to struggle in home games on the same day. Pep Guardiola and his City players will have enjoyed the ideal Sunday as they sat back with their feet up - having beaten Luton 5-1 a day earlier - before watching Arsenal and Liverpool implode on their own turf. Liverpool finally paid the price for standing on the precipice too often this season. Late Villa goals dent Arsenal's title challenge Liverpool's title hopes hit by loss to Palace My players like pressure - Guardiola on title race Eberechi Eze's goal was the 14th time they have conceded first in the Premier League this season, including four occasions in their past five league matches at home. They were pushing their luck to think they could come back every time. Eventually they would not get away with it and this proved to be the day. It means the Kop's dream of a title-winning farewell for Jurgen Klopp has receded - although there is still time for another twist in the tale - in what has been a dreadful week for Liverpool. The added worry for Klopp is a team counting potency among its greatest threats has suddenly looked blunt at the worst possible time, with just two goals scored in their past three matches. Can Klopp galvanise and inspire one last time for a glorious flourish? It is a mighty challenge in his final days at Anfield. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/68814043

Police have recovered two dead bodies in rural Texas after two mothers went missing in the nearby state of Oklahoma. The mothers, Veronica Butler, 27, and Jilian Kelley, 39, from Hugoton, Kansas, vanished on March 30. Police said their car was later found abandoned in rural Oklahoma, near the Kansas border. Coroners have yet to identify the bodies, but officials said they believe the two women have been killed. Four people have since been arrested in connection to their disappearances. The recovery of the bodies was announced Sunday by police, who said they have since been transported to the Office of the Oklahoma Chief Medical Examiner for identification and to determine the cause of death. At a press conference on Monday, officials said they believe the mothers were murdered. "You have two people who are dead and four people that committed an absolutely brutal crime," said Hunter McKee, the public information manager with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations (OSBI). Oklahoma police announced the arrest of four people on Saturday. Each was charged with two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of kidnapping, and one count of conspiracy to commit murder in the first degree. The names of those arrested are: Tad Bert Cullum, 43, Tifany Machel Adams, 54, Cole Earl Twombly, 50, and Cora Twombly, 44. Authorities said they were arrested without incident in both Texas and Cimarron counties in Oklahoma. Police did not say whether the suspects knew the two missing mothers, and did not share possible motivations or details of evidence that led to the arrests. Evidence found in the women's abandoned vehicle, plus information gathered from witnesses, as well as family and friends of the victims, pointed officials toward the suspects, Mr McKee said. He added authorities received multiple tips and used them "throughout the 14-day process" since the mothers disappeared. Authorities said they do not believe the public is in danger, or that more arrests will be made. "This wasn't random," said Matt Boley, a sheriff with the Texas County Sheriff's Office. "With some of the information coming, (it appeared to be) more targeted." Ms Butler and Ms Kelley were last seen in a vehicle before they disappeared, according to a missing persons alert issued by the Texas County Sheriff's Department. They had been driving through Oklahoma to pick up Ms Butler's children, and authorities said that neither "made it to the pick up location". BBC's US news partner CBS News reported that Ms Butler had been involved in a custody battle, but it is unclear if it was related to the case. Police on Monday declined to comment on the matter. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-68819579
