The general Palestinian legislative elections due to take place May 22 has shaken up the still internal Palestinian waters. While different polls are predicting that the Fatah movement is getting slightly more votes than any other party, after 15 years without general elections and 1 million new voters, no poll can be truly trusted to reflect what will come out at the ballot boxes. While many, including leaders of regional countries and the international community, are worried about the repeat of the 2006 elections, it is important to note that the Palestinian election’s law was changed by presidential decree in September 2007 from a combined national and regional vote to a single national vote based on the proportional system. Had the current law existed in 2006 Hamas would not have been able to monopolize the power that had caused the Gaza-West Bank split. After years of deadlock, the current elections are a result of a political breakthrough championed by two former cellmates — Jibril Rajoub, who is now the secretary of the Fatah movement, and Saleh Aruri, deputy head of the Hamas political bureau. The breakthrough was translated in an exchange of messages between Fatah and Hamas in which the latter accepted the insistence of Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas to hold elections consecutively and not concurrently. The reason for Hamas agreeing to the insistence of President Abbas was due to their own internal decision not to compete for the office of president. They had come to that conclusion due to their understanding that neither regional nor international powers would tolerate that. Having reached that conclusion, it made little difference in whether legislative and presidential elections take place at the same time or at different times. The Hamas decision was also encouraged by a clear commitment by Fatah and all other PLO factions of the need for national unity, especially at a time that the entire Palestinian liberation struggle was facing an existential question. Fatah and Hamas agreed initially to have a joint list in the upcoming elections with Fatah having a slight edge, including the promise that Fatah’s top candidate will be supported for speaker of the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC). The importance of this is due to the fact that the Palestinian basic law states that in case the president of the Palestinian National Authority dies or is unable to continue, the speaker becomes president for 60 days until new elections take place. The Rajoub/Aruri agreements were the main impetus that caused the breakthrough by the presidential decrees that have paved the way for legislative elections on May 22, presidential elections on July 30 and the competition of Palestine National Council by Aug. 31. While the elections are set to take place as designed, the joint list has not fared well especially among the grassroots of the two main factions. In fact, within Fatah, the joint list was sharply criticized by Fatah Central Committee member Nasser al-Qudwa who called it “opportunist” and “self-serving.” The joint list was also sharply rejected by the Israelis as expressed during the ruckus meeting held by head of the Israeli intelligence Nadav Argaman at the presidential quarters. Reports from the meeting state that Abbas politely rejected the interference by telling his Israeli intelligence guest “drink your coffee and leave.” The joint list was further dealt a heavy blow by a public opinion poll taken in early March by Khalil Shikaki’s Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research that showed the joint list not getting more than 44% of the total votes, while if they run separate both Fatah and Hamas would get a total of over 70%. Seeing the joint list evaporating, the effort is now focused on the post-elections coalitions and the shape of the new Palestinian government. Hamas had three choices in deciding who to nominate for the PLC elections: their top leaders, independent individuals close to Hamas or an agreed-upon joint list. With the joint list gone, Hamas appears to have chosen to nominate their top leaders while keeping the idea of nominating individuals to the new Palestinian government from independent candidates that are close to them but who are not card-holding members. Hamas understands that its top leaders simply can’t be part of a Palestinian government while the conditions of the quartet are not being changed. Contrary to Hamas, the Fatah movement is not planning to nominate its top leaders. Abbas has said that no member of the central committee, the revolutionary council or current ambassadors will be nominated. Abbas has also said he wanted more women and young leaders to be on the Fatah list. For Fatah, feeling confident that they have guaranteed the speakership of the PLC and the presidency, sources told Al-Monitor that their candidates will be the more po[CENSORED]r Palestinians and not necessarily members of the Fatah top brass. By nominating professionals and po[CENSORED]r individuals they expect to be able to keep their movement as it has always wanted to be until a genuinely sovereign state is established — a movement for liberation and not a political party. PUBG Mobile is banned in India since September 2020. Here are five countries other than India that have banned the battle royale mobile game and why. PUBG Mobile was banned in India in September last year under the Section 69A of Information Technology (IT) Act. Alongside the battle royale game, the Indian government banned hundreds of other Chinese apps including TikTok, Camscanner, among others. Also Read - PUBG Mobile new anti-cheating report: 1,813,787 accounts banned permanently Since the ban, the battle royale game is unavailable in the country. In fact, it has been taken down from Google Play Store and Apple App store. Krafton, however, is working hard to release an Indian version of PUBG Mobile dubbed PUBG Mobile India. Also Read - PUBG Mobile official roster released by Fnatic India The company has previously confirmed that the PUBG Mobile India mobile game will be custom made especially for the Indian gamers out there. The company has also revealed to take security and privacy of the Indian users very seriously and host their data within the country. Also Read - PUBG Mobile has earned revenue more than $5 billion: SensorTower A lot is going around the comeback of PUBG Mobile in India. Some reports suggest that Krafton is in continuous talks with the government of India to bring back the battle royale game in the country very soon. The release date of the game hasn’t been revealed as yet. Amid the rumours around PUBG Mobile’s comeback in India, let’s take a quick look at 5 countries besides India that banned PUBG or the mobile version of the game. Notably, some countries removed the ban later. China The first name in the list is China. It’s surprising to see China in the list given Tencent Games itself is a Chinese entity. The game was primarily banned in the country because of the amount of bloodshed the game involves. Notably, the game was replaced by a separate version called Game For Peace to meet the country’s regulations. In the Game For Peace, the blood is shown in green colour and shooters lying in a pool of blood wave goodbye and fly off. Afghanistan Afghanistan’s Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (ATRA) also suspended PUBG game in the country. The authority reportedly consulted the Ministry of Hajj and Religious Affairs, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Public Health, Ministry of Telecommunication and Science, psychologists, parents, school headmasters, cyber security experts and other relevant sources before suspending the battle royale game in the country. Pakistan also banned the game but later removed the ban after several petitions were filed. Nepal PUBG was banned in Nepal as well. The battle game was suspended after a verdict by the Kathmandu district court on a PIL by the Metropolitan Crime Division. The PIL stated that the battle royale game had adverse effects on children. After multiple petitions were filed in the supreme court of Nepal, the game returned to the country. Iran PUBG was banned in Iran back in 2019 alongside other games such as Fortnite, Blue Whale, and other online video games. The reason behind the ban was that these games cause social and psychological issues to the public. The authority said that such games are harmful to society and a potential national security threat. Jordan The battle game was banned in Jordan back in July 2019. The government of Jordan stated the negative effects of PUBG on the kingdom’s citizens as the reason behind the ban. Indonesia also banned the game on similar grounds. Also watch these BGR Exclusive videos!

There is a lot of content online about leading a healthy lifestyle, but a healthy lifestyle is much more than just diet and exercise. When it comes to adopting new healthy habits, minor changes can make a big difference. Leading a healthy lifestyle is a worthy goal, but how do you begin? Well, you first need to identify the unhealthy habits you want to change, then believe you can do it, come up with a plan, and hold yourself accountable. Breaking old habits is never easy, and creating healthy ones can sometimes be intimidating, though it is not impossible. Here, we look at ways you can find a healthier and happier life instead of making a huge health makeover. 1. MAINTAIN A HEALTHY WEIGHT Maintaining a healthy weight is one of the best things you can do to live a healthy lifestyle. By keeping a balanced weight, you lower your risk of cancer, heart disease, and diabetes. However, several factors like diet, activity levels, genes, and age contribute to weight gain. That is why you have to aim for at least two hours of moderate aerobic exercise, or an hour of vigorous physical activity each week. Also, you must avoid sitting for too long. Recent research has linked sitting too much to diabetes, obesity, heart disease, and cancer. So, ensure to take a five-minute walk every hour during your workday. When it comes to diet, learn to eat healthily, and use multivitamin supplements. You can look at the supplement reviews for some ideas. But besides that, ensure to eat lots of fruits and vegetables, drink lots of water, avoid sodas, sugary, salty, and processed foods. LIMIT OR STOP TAKING ALCOHOL Several studies have proven that excess alcohol consumption causes liver disease, including cirrhosis and other life-threatening ailments like a higher risk of high blood pressure, heart failure, cancers, including those of the digestive tract (including colon cancer), breast, and liver. While there are health risks related to excessive alcohol consumption, there are some health benefits associated with moderate drinking. Regardless, if you don’t drink, don’t start, but if you do, limit your consumption or if you can, stop taking alcohol. 3. ALWAYS GET ENOUGH SLEEP We can’t live or function without sleep because it replenishes us and allows us enough vitality to accomplish the things we want in life. And by the way, research has shown that sleep loss may lead to weight gain and other health problems. According to the sleep specialists over at the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, proper sleep can boost our immune system, help prevent weight gain, strengthen the heart, and also make vaccines more effective. 4. AVOID SMOKING Research shows tobacco use causes 25% to 30% of cancer deaths. But despite those risks, roughly one in five adults still smokes, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Smoking is dangerous, but people know very little about its danger. Whether e-cigarettes or smokeless tobacco, tobacco products are dangerous and contain cancer-causing chemicals, therefore, smoking puts people’s lives at risk. Also, try to avoid secondhand smoke, as it can also cause lung cancer, heart disease, and asthma attacks in non-smokers. So keep in mind that no level of exposure is safe. 5. EXERCISE REGULARLY An at-home workout is a good idea. But you can also walk your dog or run outside. Be sure you know what’s going on in your area and if there are any restrictions but get active. It is good to engage in regular exercise. It can help you lose weight. But if you are like many Americans, you are busy; you have a sedentary job. Whatever the case, you must find ways to fit more physical activity into your life. Think age is your excuse? You should try to get the recommended amount of exercise for your age. 6. LET SOMEONE KNOW ABOUT YOUR NEW LIFESTYLE Let someone know about your new desire for a healthy lifestyle. It could be your husband, boyfriend, sister, or friend. When you have one or two people around, you know what you’re up to with your health and fitness goals, they’ll be more likely to support you on the journey, and not do things that would impede your progress. If you don’t have someone around, check out online support groups that help individuals reach their goals. HOW CAN YOU CHANGE YOUR UNHEALTHY LIFESTYLE? Identify the unhealthy habits in your life that you want to change. Then, for each habit, come up with the reason you want to change. If you believe that you can lead a happier and healthier life, the journey gets easier. Ignore the negative self-talk and replace it with more positive self-talk. Also, keep in mind that the outcome of these changes may take time and you may have setbacks along the way. So have a plan and stick to it.

RAMALLAH, Sunday, March 28, 2021 (WAFA) – Minister of Health Mai Alkaila said that the Ministry is slated in the next two days to receive 100 thousand doses of the Sinopharm vaccine and 25 thousand doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine. Alkaila said in press remarks that there was a slight decrease in the number of Covid cases in Palestine, thanks to the public adherence to the safety guidelines during the lockdowns imposed over the past two weeks. "We noticed a slight improvement in the epidemiological situation, but the mortality and infection rates are still high. The rate of hospital bed occupancy decreased from 115 percent to 100 percent," Alkaila told the official Voice of Palestine radio. Alkaila pointed out that the number of those who test positive for the COVID-19 is still high, which is a dangerous sign, adding that the percentage of positive rests in the past 24 hours in the West Bank was 21 percent, and in the Gaza Strip 20 percent. "Citizens refuse undergoing tests for various reasons, and we're aware of this when we talk about the epidemiological situation in Palestine," she said. The health minister expressed her hope that the vaccination rollout would go on smoothly across the country, stressing that she is communicating daily with the COVAX initiative and the vaccine manufacturers to secure more vaccines into the country.

NHS SBS specified that each of the six categories will also include deployment services, warranty and lease options, as well as green [or] sustainable options. In December 2020, the NHS SBS also approved over 50 building firms for a new NHS construction and minor works framework agreement. The new framework will initially run from 17th December 2020 until 16th December 2023, with the option to extend to 2027.

That said, it is all-but-guaranteed that whatever the studio does next will keep one tradition alive. In every Naughty Dog game released throughout the past few decades, players can find easter eggs both big and small that reference the studio’s past work. While this is common in the video game industry, the way in which Naughty Dog handles its references is truly unique. Including a mix of big and small nods within its games, many of Naughty Dog’s best secrets are directly related to the games it is responsible for creating. The Power Of Smaller Nods As far as small references go, Naughty Dog has used the tactic plenty throughout its history. Starting back in Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy with a venus fly trap ripped straight from Crash 2: Cortex Strikes Back, these nods have become increasingly common in recent years. One example is Sully’s plane from the Uncharted series, as its “Hog Wild” name is a nod to the Crash Bandicoot level of the same name. The swimsuits in Uncharted are named “ottsel,” a nod to Daxter’s species, while the strange relic — AKA the Precursor Orb — can be found throughout the Uncharted games as a collectible. Crash Bandicoot’s signature Wumpa fruit can be found within Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End as well, with Nathan Drake able to inspect the unique-looking food item. The dark and serious world of The Last of Us is not safe from these references either, however. While there are nods to Jak and Daxter, such as a plush toy and board game centered on the game, the main target of choice is clearly the Uncharted franchise. Ellie can be heard whistling the Uncharted theme, a newspaper for an Uncharted movie can be found, and items from Uncharted can be discovered throughout the game. With buildings like O’Sullivan’s Pub referencing Sully and posters mentioning Uncharted 2’s Phurba dagger also seen, Naughty Dog’s love for its games is noticeable throughout The Last of Us as well. Mastering The Major References More obvious nods exist in The Last of Us as well, including some alternate costumes for Ellie that reference Jak and Daxter. A sweatshirt, Daxter backpack, and Jak goggles can all be worn by the protagonist, making the developer’s attachment to their classic series even more clear. While The Last of Us 2 includes a well-hidden Precursor Orb as a collectible, Nathan Drake’s iconic ring is much easier to discover. In an optional exploration section early in the game, Ellie can enter a bank to obtain a shotgun. However, one of the lockboxes contains Drake’s iconic ring, with Ellie able to read the “Sic Parvis Magna” inscription clearly. While there are plenty of subtle nods, such as a PlayStation 3 with Uncharted game cases scattered around the console, seeing a spotlight placed on Drake’s ring is awesome. However, when it comes to major references, none is more clear than Uncharted 4’s Crash Bandicoot homage. A major focus of a cutscene at both the start and end of the game, both Nathan and Cassie Drake can play the first level of Crash Bandicoot to its fullest. Boasting the same visual style, mechanics, and music as the original, playing a Naughty Dog game inside another Naughty Dog game is as big as a reference can possibly get. Guaranteed to put a smile on the face of any Naughty Dog fan, the moment stands tall as one of the better easter eggs in recent years. While Naughty Dog references films, comics, and other games within its video game franchises, the nods to its own work are often some of the most fun. While it may be a while before something tops the Crash Bandicoot easter egg in Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, players can certainly expect to see more collectibles and environmental details that serve as obvious callbacks.

Adidas x Peloton Peloton is a direct-to-consumer (DTC) sports brand that has injected new life into the experience of cycling for exercise. In addition to their immensely po[CENSORED]r Peloton stationary bikes, the brand offers a treadmill and a digital studio with more than 10,000 boutique fitness classes. Founded in 2013, Peloton is not simply an exercise brand, but a true early adopter of content and commerce, having integrated the concept of subscription-based video into its product to take monotony out of working out at home, making it fun and interactive. For Peloton, the ability to create a continual revenue stream of dedicated customer-fans through monthly subscriptions has been a game changer, with two tiers of membership: All-Access, for owners of Peloton bikes and treads, at $39 a month, and the Peloton App, which hosts an extensive library of content with no equipment required, at $12.99. Starting from the original stationary bike in 2013, the company added a $4,000 treadmill in 2018 and rolled out two new models this year with a broader range of price points (currently between $1,895 and $4,295). Peloton equipment features large screens to encourage user interaction with instructors, many of whom have become celebrities with large fan followings. Combining exercise classes with a fun social media-style element has enabled the brand to grow exponentially, especially once the coronavirus pandemic shut down gyms around the world. Peloton’s stock has nearly quadrupled over the past year as consumers lined up to invest in its at-home workout equipment and sense of community fostered by its digital experience. In the latest boost to the Peloton brand, the company announced an international partnership with Adidas on a line of performance and lifestyle apparel. The collaboration will be launched with the Adidas x Peloton Spring/Summer 2021 collection, developed with po[CENSORED]r instructors Ally Love, Robin Arzón and Cody Rigsby. The trainers were involved in the design process to help establish a co-creation model for the future, as this marks Peloton’s first-ever instructor-designed global-level collaboration. New Balance x Stone Island Known for its consistently strong brand collaborations, New England-based New Balance announced last week a multi-year partnership with Italian men’s luxury label Stone Island, following up on a one-off 2013 sneaker collab. In an Instagram post announcing the partnership, Stone Island wrote: Known as cultural drivers, both brands share similar values of research and functionality in their respective areas of expertise and take an analytical approach to innovative data-driven design. Initial talks were based on the common vision of developing a footwear partnership that will roll out in several different waves over the next few years. By transcending current trends, New Balance and Stone Island will together bring their shared values to life in a new and creative way. According to New Balance senior collaborations manager Joe Grondin, the company places an emphasis on “aligning with brands that are authentic in their space and have substance behind their message.” New Balance’s roster of collaborators represents a wide range of aesthetics, communities and subcultures, which means that the brand can speak to a variety of consumers based on how it matches products and collaborators. Other successful co-branded projects from New Balance have included WTAPS, Joe Freshgoods, Stray Rats, Aimé Leon Dore, NBA star Kawhi Leonard, and British fashion designer Paul Smith. Why Collaborate? A major question for successful brands is why they should collaborate with another brand at all when they might feel they are doing well enough with their core products. The answer is that collaborations delight consumers through their novelty and provide opportunities for expansion into new categories with top-tier partners. Stone Island could have easily licensed its name to a shoe company to produce Stone Island branded shoes, but the collaboration with New Balance gives the consumer the best of both worlds. Both labels have their fans, and by joining forces they can satisfy their avid consumers while drawing new ones. The same reasoning lies behind Peloton’s partnership with Adidas. Working with best-in-class companies only enhances the fruits of the collaboration and creates greater value all around.

RAMALLAH, Palestine Palestine on Friday welcomed Washington’s announcement that it will resume providing aid to the West Bank and Gaza Strip. Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh described the US move as “an important step in the right direction” towards restructuring the US-Palestine relations. The aid was halted during the administration of former US President Donald Trump “due to his stances on the Palestinian issue” which, he said in a statement, were “contrary to international legitimacy decisions.” On Thursday, the US announced it will provide humanitarian aid to the poorest Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip for the first time since it was cut under the Trump administration. Linda Thomas-Greenfield, Washington’s ambassador to the UN, said Thursday that the US is concerned that the coronavirus pandemic has put a strain on the economic and humanitarian needs of Palestinians. Stressing that US President Joe Biden is restoring assistance programs for economic development and humanitarian aid for Palestinians, she said the US announced $15 million in humanitarian support to the most vulnerable communities in the West Bank and Gaza. Under Trump, the US gradually cut off financial aid that had been earmarked for Palestinians in the US budget for decades, including stopping funding for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), and cutting financial aid allocated to the Palestinian Authority.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is everywhere. Its applications are plentiful and far-reaching, and its growth seems to be pandemic-proof. IDC forecasted that, even in the face of an economic downturn, the AI market would grow by 12.3% in 2020. But there is a notable gap in where AI is taking hold. Enterprise software companies are lacking when it comes to building AI directly into their applications to create a more personalized experience for users. The majority of enterprise applications, like those for customer relationship management (CRM), enterprise resource planning (ERP), video conferencing, instant messaging and more still rely on a traditional interaction model. This model requires the user initiate actions versus AI working proactively to provide a better user experience, for example, by making recommendations. The product managers, product designers and application developers responsible for building these applications will increasingly get access to more AI capabilities. As this happens, we can expect to see AI more frequently incorporated into existing applications, bringing AI-based features to the workplace at large. Companies that get on board stand to benefit greatly, and those that do not will eventually be pushed out. Let’s examine the reasons behind this gap, and how giving AI precedence can take enterprise applications to the next level. Why Aren’t All Software Companies Already Incorporating AI? So, why aren’t all enterprise software companies building AI into their products by default? There are a few reasons. Although the technology to do so has been around for a while, it can get lost in software companies’ long list of priorities. Additionally, some companies tend to get stuck on iterating on the current features of their product based on customer feedback. Getting bogged down with incremental improvements can keep software companies from seeing the bigger picture of how AI can benefit their customers. To some extent, AI has also been shrouded as a separate entity. It conjures up images of a dozen PhDs working siloed in the back room of an organization to create a machine the likes of an IBM Watson. But, in reality, it’s simply a matter of taking the time to build the correct capabilities and algorithms into products that already exist. And doing so will be vital for software companies to fend off the next wave of competition. Related Article: The 4 Foundations of Responsible AI Artificial Intelligence Opportunities Are Everywhere AI — particularly machine learning algorithms — are a powerful tool for creating better user experiences. By continuously looking at the data within a system, these algorithms gain insights regarding which users might be interested in certain data, which users should be doing what, and much more. By anticipating the user’s needs, and proactively providing suggestions or taking actions based on data, AI-based features can save humans time and prevent mistakes. For example, have you ever forgotten to record an important video conference call? Once you realize it’s too late, there’s no going back. Best case scenario, you have to interrupt the meeting to begin recording, only to end up with a partial recording. A machine learning algorithm can examine every video conference call you’ve ever had, including information on when you’ve recorded, played back those recordings, length of the call time, who the call was with, and more. It can then take that data and either begin recording automatically, or issue a pop up alert asking whether you’d like to record your call. Sounds handy, right?

Brian DeVore of the Land Stewardship Project talks about whether large dairies are helping or hurting the economy. The March 17 headline, “Is Winona County's animal unit cap killing business?” asks a provocative question, but the article itself offers few answers to what we should really be asking: Are mega-dairies good for rural economies? Some digging shows the answer is no. Dairy farming represents a significant boost to a community, a boost that row-cropping, for example, just can’t match. The University of Wisconsin estimates a dairy cow in that state can generate $34,000 a year in local economic activity. But by automatically equating more cows with more economic activity, promoters of mega-dairies miss a key point: The local economic value of milk production on one factory farm is not the same as if it was produced on several small and medium-sized operations. The Journal of Dairy Science found that having more dairy farms in a community is associated with a more positive economic and socioeconomic environment than just pure gross sales of milk. University of Minnesota economist Richard Levins points out that as dairies add thousands, and even tens of thousands, of cows, the number of communities with NO dairies of ANY size is increasing at a phenomenal rate. That is a direct result of mega-operations, with the help of government policy, pushing out their smaller counterparts through massive over-production. What makes for a thriving Main Street — more cows or more farmers? As a Minnesota hardware store owner once told an economics researcher: “You know, I haven’t had many cows come in here lately.”

Look Forward Infographic More Look Forward stats Full Look Forward study CHRO Christy Pambianchi: A Look Forward to Work Forward Highlights: Farewell cubicles: Adults who’ve worked remotely in the last year would prefer to be working in a remote or hybrid capacity a year from now. Endless stream of content: Traffic on major streaming sites is currently 21% above pre-pandemic levels as Americans plan to spend more time streaming. “Hello, it’s me”: Phone calls are lasting longer than pre-pandemic, and more adults are embracing video calls to stay connected with their friends and family. Retail therapy: Adults anticipate that a year from now, they will be splitting their shopping equally between in person and online, compared to most shopping “mostly in-person” pre-pandemic. BASKING RIDGE, N.J. - Verizon today released findings from its Look Forward study on how Americans have adapted to life one year into the COVID-19 pandemic, and what they think it will look like a year in the future. Our study, conducted with Morning Consult, combined with Verizon network data suggests permanent lifestyle changes in the workplace, a sustained larger appetite for streamed content, a comeback for phone calls, and a more equal mix of online and in-person shopping as the new norm. “The pandemic has forced all of us to face challenges we never considered,” says Kyle Malady, Chief Technical Officer at Verizon. “A year into the pandemic, data usage on Verizon networks remains at almost 31% above pre-pandemic levels, a clear indicator that internet consumption and the acceleration of technology adoption are major byproducts of this moment. We’ve seen the shift to digital jump ahead 5-7 years.” Work As companies shifted from in-office to work-from-home, many have invested significant resources into technology to ensure the continued operations of their business. Survey data suggests that many employees who have acclimated to remote work are not in a rush to go back to an office full-time. In fact, half agree that they would consider changing jobs to continue remote or hybrid work. Use of collaboration tools like video conferencing on Verizon’s networks, is still a remarkable 2872% above pre-pandemic levels. Traffic across secure networks (VPN) also remains 91% higher than pre-pandemic volumes. Over half of employed adults say they are currently working remotely at least part of the time (54%), nearly twice the share who say they were doing so before the pandemic began (28%). Among those who’ve worked at least partially remotely at some point in the last year, about 7 in 10 say they would like to be working remotely at least 1-2 days per week a year from now (69%). Just 1 in 4 hope to return to in person work full-time (25%). Remote workers largely say they tend to be more mobile when they’re working remotely (75%). 2 in 3 say they plan to take advantage of remote work to travel or work from places other than their home when the pandemic has subsided (67%). This shift in worker preference has one major implication: the reliability of networks is even more important today and going forward as workers are increasingly able to work from places other than home. Kids and Learning Parents are optimistic about their children’s return to the classroom next year. One of the lasting impacts of the pandemic on education could be the availability of different options for how children attend school. A large majority (77%) say it is likely that most children will be attending school fully in-person a year from now, and nearly half (49%) expect K-12 students will have the option to attend classes online at least part time even when COVID-19 is no longer a concern. This flexibility may not be well received by everyone though: 58% expect K-12 schools to move classes online during inclement weather, rather than canceling classes. For many, “snow days” may soon be a relic of the past. Parents with children under 18 overwhelmingly express that they have been more lenient with screen time throughout the pandemic (72%), and most say they will keep more relaxed screen time rules even after the pandemic ends (57%). Streaming Today, traffic on major streaming sites is currently 21% above pre-pandemic levels according to Verizon network data, supporting the finding that the nation has a larger appetite for streaming. Discussing TV and streaming content has helped adults connect with friends and family during the pandemic (44%). Those who currently stream content largely anticipate that they will be spending more or the same amount of time that they are now watching content through streaming services a year from now (82%). 2 in 3 US adults say that recently they have been spending at least 3 hours per week watching live TV (67%). More than half (59%) say the same about watching content through a streaming service. Nearly half of adults (47%) say they have subscribed to a new streaming service since the start of the pandemic. Most say they have binge watched shows at least once or twice (70%). While there is no final verdict on American’s preference to “binge watch” versus watch episodic content, Gen Z prefers to binge (47%). Most US adult households currently subscribe to a cable or satellite television service (62%). Nearly 1 in 4 say they’ve cut the cord (23%). Among millennials, 1 in 5 say they have never subscribed to a cable or satellite television service (21%). Gaming Mobile gaming really took off during the pandemic. 46% of respondents report that they have purchased or downloaded a mobile game at least once since the pandemic started; while 36% report doing the same for a computer or console game. Nearly a third of respondents said that they spend 3 or more hours a week playing games on their mobile devices (31%) About a third of adults who’ve spent time online gaming (32%) and talking to friends or family via video calls (32%) say they were spending more time doing these activities in the early months of the pandemic than they are now, while nearly half say they were spending about the same amount of time as they are now (45% and 46%, respectively). Staying Connected Newer technology may get the headlines about record data usage, but the old fashioned telephone call spiked during and after lockdowns. As the pandemic first took hold, Verizon network data showed phone calls increase by 20% as people were connecting more over the phone than in person. That percentage has remained steady with current phone calls coming in at almost 19% above pre-pandemic times. Today the duration of those calls also remains significantly higher, with people talking almost 29% longer on calls. Nearly 1 in 3 adults say they either upgraded or considered upgrading both their home internet bandwidth (32%) and their mobile data plan (32%) within the last year. Younger generations and those who are working remotely are more likely to say so compared to their counterparts. Among adults who use messaging apps, video calls, and social media to communicate, nearly 1 in 3 anticipate they will be using each respective form of communication more a year from now than they are now. The strongest increase in reported usage from before the pandemic to during the pandemic is observed for video calls (21% to 26% for friends; 25% to 31% for immediate family). Retail While online, contactless payments and non-traditional shopping experiences were not born of the pandemic, the last year has expanded Americans' familiarity and use of them. Most adults say they were shopping mostly in person pre-pandemic (60%), while just over a third say the same now (37%). Adults surveyed anticipate that a year from now, they will be shopping in person and online equally (42%). 1 in 4 adults say they’ve recently shopped mostly online (24%), while 1 in 3 say they’ve recently shopped through an equal mix of in person and online (34%). About 1 in 3 adults say they either used or heard about contactless credit cards (36%), contactless mobile payments (33%), and grocery delivery services (38%) for the first time during the coronavirus pandemic. More than 1 in 5 adults anticipate they will be using self-checkout (23%), contactless credit cards (24%), and contactless mobile payments (22%) more a year from now than they are now. Only 16% expect they’ll be shopping mostly online a year from today, a 6-point increase from before the pandemic, and an 8-point drop from today. Verizon commissioned this poll conducted by Morning Consult on March 12 to March 14, 2021 among a national sample of 3,000 adults in the United States. The interviews were conducted online and the data was weighted to approximate a target sample of adults based on gender, educational attainment, age, race, and region.

RAMALLAH, Thursday, March 25, 2021 (WAFA) – The number of new daily COVID-19 cases in Palestine is still high as the Ministry of Health recorded 2093 new cases and 20 deaths in the last 24 hours. Minister of Health Mai Alkaila said in her daily report on coronavirus in Palestine that 1408 new cases, 18 deaths, and 1886 recoveries were recorded in the West Bank, and 554 new cases, two deaths, and 63 recoveries were recorded in the Gaza Strip. East Jerusalem had 131 new cases and 214 recoveries recorded over two days. No corona-related deaths were reported in the holy city. Alkaila said 205 corona patients are getting treatment in intensive care, among them 69 are on ventilators. As the vaccination rollout continues in Palestine, 13,499 people have been inoculated against the coronavirus in the West Bank, and 15,986 people in the Gaza Strip, said the Health Minister.
