  1. Do you have Cs 1.6 on Steam ? - For steam, there a method is to put the actual screen resolution as a launch parameter, to get yours, right click on desktop and go to Display setting, you'll see it there as "Display resolution", the first part before the X is the Width and the part after is the Height, then you gotta add as a launch command, by right clicking on the game in the library, going to Properties, and clicking on "SET LAUNCH OPTIONS" in the general tab, the first tab.

  3. Today we will run through one way of estimating the intrinsic value of One Software Technologies Ltd (TLV:ONE) by taking the expected future cash flows and discounting them to today's value. This will be done using the Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) model. Don't get put off by the jargon, the math behind it is actually quite straightforward. Remember though, that there are many ways to estimate a company's value, and a DCF is just one method. Anyone interested in learning a bit more about intrinsic value should have a read of the Simply Wall St analysis model. We use what is known as a 2-stage model, which simply means we have two different periods of growth rates for the company's cash flows. Generally the first stage is higher growth, and the second stage is a lower growth phase. In the first stage we need to estimate the cash flows to the business over the next ten years. Seeing as no analyst estimates of free cash flow are available to us, we have extrapolate the previous free cash flow (FCF) from the company's last reported value. We assume companies with shrinking free cash flow will slow their rate of shrinkage, and that companies with growing free cash flow will see their growth rate slow, over this period. We do this to reflect that growth tends to slow more in the early years than it does in later years. Generally we assume that a dollar today is more valuable than a dollar in the future, so we need to discount the sum of these future cash flows to arrive at a present value estimate: The Method We use what is known as a 2-stage model, which simply means we have two different periods of growth rates for the company's cash flows. We do this to reflect that growth tends to slow more in the early years than it does in later years. Generally we assume that a dollar today is more valuable than a dollar in the future, so we need to discount the sum of these future cash flows to arrive at a present value estimate: The second stage is also known as Terminal Value, this is the business's cash flow after the first stage. The Gordon Growth formula is used to calculate Terminal Value at a future annual growth rate equal to the 5-year average of the 10-year government bond yield of 1.5%. We discount the terminal cash flows to today's value at a cost of equity of 6.7%. Terminal Value (TV)= FCF2032 × (1 + g) ÷ (r – g) = ₪215m× (1 + 1.5%) ÷ (6.7%– 1.5%) = ₪4.2b Present Value of Terminal Value (PVTV)= TV / (1 + r)10= ₪4.2b÷ ( 1 + 6.7%)10= ₪2.2b The total value is the sum of cash flows for the next ten years plus the discounted terminal value, which results in the Total Equity Value, which in this case is ₪3.7b. In the final step we divide the equity value by the number of shares outstanding. Compared to the current share price of ₪56.2, the company appears around fair value at the time of writing. The assumptions in any calculation have a big impact on the valuation, so it is better to view this as a rough estimate, not precise down to the last cent. https://www.google.com/amp/s/simplywall.st/stocks/il/software/tase-one/one-software-technologies-shares/news/estimating-the-intrinsic-value-of-one-software-technologies/amp

For consumers, SDVs will deliver new features, functionality and enhanced personalized experiences. For manufacturers (and even dealers and Tier 1s), SDVs will open new revenue opportunities and business models. Industries outside the automotive sector have already realized this vision. Mobile-device and other tech companies regularly capture and analyze usage data to define and deliver future enhancements. To make a similar leap, automotive manufacturers not only need to embrace a software-engineering mindset, but also sufficiently provision in-vehicle hardware that when combined with the cloud enables long-term innovation. This mindset is a paradigm shift and different from traditional auto engineering, which relies on hardware designed to minimize cost. A new philosophy is to over-provision, in reasonable steps, the computer hardware so manufacturers can use that capacity to create new value from software. Leveraging a customer base to help create continuously better software is the mastery of digital innovation. To realize these developmental and financial benefits, manufacturers must make bold hardware decisions today that will drive their sales performance tomorrow. An Optimal User Experience FROM Humans, Not Just FOR Them Driver-assistance technology has doubtlessly saved thousands of lives, and the promise of automated driving is enticing. Yet in today’s stark reality, many legally mandated or optional comfort-assistance technologies distract drivers with frequent malfunctions, make robot-like decisions and feel synthetic. Today’s traffic is complex, and the ask for an in-vehicle robotized assistance system that blends safely and seamlessly is too tall. Tech-enabled functionality must feel natural. Until recently, human interaction with tech was more limited: button presses and barking commands. Today’s systems are more intelligent, but creating real human-like experiences requires more input, analysis and iteration. This process is well established in tech platforms like Windows (Insider), social media, gaming and entertainment. Vehicles are a different story. Generations of automotive engineers, like many in non-tech sectors, are ingrained with a “launch requirements” mindset. Any additional capacity or functionality is considered a waste of resources. As a result, vehicles tend to roll off the assembly line with the tech specs they need to deliver a positive driver experience on Day One. What about Day 730? The software may be updatable, but do the assembly-line hardware specifications truly allow the innovation that OEMs aspire to deliver? Driver-assist technology like adaptive cruise control, lane-change warnings or merging needs to seem smooth, human and natural, not jerky, stilted and awkwardly reactive. Improving these features means analyzing and accounting for how humans drive. Computer simulations alone aren’t sufficient, because they use technology inputs rather than real-world inputs. For feature development to realize a natural/human feel, automotive systems must incorporate constant learning from driver actions to improve the experience over time. One option to enable this adaptation is gathering and analyzing data from an entire fleet’s sensors and systems. Infotainment and in-car marketplace experiences must also be able to evolve alongside market and user expectations. In both instances, growth can be driven by software, but only if the hardware enables it. Swam-based learning is the principle of observing and collecting data on how people interact with technology. In the automotive industry, collecting human driving data and combining it across the fleet of a brand can be used to improve future functionality. Data collection and analysis in conformance with data-privacy regulations improve the driving and customer experience, thus making the vehicle stay relevant and modern over time. But driving-experience data capture must be enabled from the design stage by future-proofing the vehicles’ compute capacity and connectivity elements. This is beneficial for consumers, of course, but for manufacturers and dealers, this data-centric design can drive new revenue. Over time, data capture and analysis will enable the updates and innovation that ultimately improve a vehicle’s long-term residual value. The higher a fleet’s long-term residual values, the lower the finance rates an OEM can offer through their dealerships, which attracts new buyers, increases sales and potentially opens new markets. This applies both to traditional dealerships and new agency models alike. The automotive industry is moving toward a human-led, software-defined reality. This transformation necessitates a focus on both hardware and software, as the two are intricately connected. Incorporating user inputs and innovating accordingly will make traditional OEMs more feature-competitive with upstart brands, but it requires their engineers to dramatically change how they think of their vehicles. Creating a car that gets better every day delivers higher value for users, OEMs and dealers alike, as it cultivates customer loyalty and opens new revenue opportunities. Automakers must build extra capacity into their vehicles to accommodate the development of new data-driven features and human-like functionality. This capacity is not wasteful; it’s an investment in the future. It is time to shift from the decades-old auto-engineering mindset. Automobiles can no longer be static products; they must be adaptable platforms capable of growth. https://www.autonews.com/sponsored/how-todays-tech-decisions-drive-tomorrows-sales
  5. MP Rupa Huq says she has apologised to Chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng for describing him as "superficially" black. Speaking at a Labour Party conference fringe event, Ms Huq also said: "If you hear him on the Today programme, you wouldn't know he's black." Her remarks were criticised and Labour suspended her from the parliamentary party pending an investigation. Tory Party chair Jake Berry called her comments "racist" and "disgusting". Deputy Labour leader Angela Rayner said the remarks were "unacceptable". Speaking to the BBC's Politics Live programme, she said Ms Huq should apologise, while the party's foreign affairs spokesman David Lammy described the remarks as "unfortunate" adding: "I wouldn't have made them myself." A Labour spokesperson said: "We condemn the remarks, they are totally inappropriate, and we call on her to withdraw them." The Ealing Central and Acton MP, who will now sit in Parliament as an independent, was recorded making the comments on Monday evening at a fringe event entitled What's Next for Labour's Agenda on Race. The audio clip was published by the Guido Fawkes website minutes before Sir Keir Starmer began his speech to the Labour Party Conference in Liverpool. During a Q&A session, she said: "He's superficially, he's, a black man but again he's got more in common... he went to Eton, he went to a very expensive prep school, all the way through top schools in the country. "If you hear him on the Today programme you wouldn't know he's black." Following the publication of the clip, Ms Huq tweeted: "I have today contacted Kwasi Kwarteng to offer my sincere and heartfelt apologies for the comments I made at yesterday's Labour conference fringe meeting. "My comments were ill-judged and I wholeheartedly apologise to anyone affected." Mr Kwarteng, who became chancellor earlier this month, was born in east London and has Ghanaian heritage. Former chancellor and Tory MP Sajid Javid said he was "appalled and saddened" by the clip adding: "Rather than give encouragement to racists and people who seek to divide us, she should know better. Not too late for her to show that she does." In a letter to Sir Keir, Mr Berry urged the Labour leader to "join me in unequivocally condemning these comments as nothing less than racist". The Conservative Party chair also labelled her words as "vile" and "disgusting". Sunder Katwala, who chaired the event at which Ms Huq made the remarks, tweeted: "My comments from the chair that people should be judged on their politics and ideas, not race, and that Kwarteng being a Conservative did not mean he was not Black, were strongly applauded by the fringe audience." https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-63050482.amp
  6. A woman who brought a wild raccoon into a North Dakota bar, which prompted state health officials to issue a warning about potential rabies exposure, is facing criminal charges. Erin Christensen, 38, of Maddock, is charged with misdemeanor counts of providing false information to law enforcement, tampering with physical evidence and unlawful possession of furbearers. Christensen was arrested earlier this month after authorities found her and the raccoon by serving several search warrants in and around Maddock. Christensen said her family found the raccoon on the side of a road about three months ago and named it Rocky. She said they were nursing the animal back to health with plans to release it back into the wild. It’s illegal under North Dakota Board of Animal Health laws to keep a wild raccoon. Authorities euthanized the animal, and it tested negative for rabies. Christensen took Rocky to Maddock Bar on Sept. 6 during happy hour and showed the raccoon to customers. Bartender Cindy Smith said the animal never bit anyone at the bar. Nevertheless, North Dakota’s Health and Human Services Department issued a warning asking anyone who may have been bitten or had contact with the raccoon’s saliva to seek medical care. “It’s unfair and too much was done to detain an innocent raccoon," Christensen said in a Wednesday statement to The Bismarck Tribune. "They were not worried about the health of us if we had rabies or not. They were worried about finding and killing Rocky and putting me behind bars.” The charges against Christensen carry a maximum punishment of about two years in jail and $7,500 in fines. Her initial court appearance was set for Sep. 26. Maddock is town of about 500 people located about 85 miles from the Canadian border. https://eu.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2022/09/27/north-dakota-woman-raccoon-criminal-charges/10438152002/
  7. “These crises and the way we choose to respond to them are testing our shared commitment to the United Nations. That’s why our decisions matter now more than ever,” Canada’s Foreign Minister, Mélanie Joly, told the General Assembly’s annual high-level debate on Monday. ‘More multilateralism, not less’ “We have a choice – either we respect and defend the rules that we collectively have developed for generations and that have given us the longest period of peace in modern history or we accept that rules can be broken by the powerful, bringing us back to darker times of constant tensions and conflicts, with massive displacements, suffering and losses of human lives. “For Canada, the choice is clear: we’re convinced that we need more multilateralism, not less; we need more of the UN, not less; and we need a UN that is effective, efficient, relevant and accountable.” On Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Ms. Joly said the 193-member General Assembly has spoken clearly and with conviction. “Russia’s aggressions against Ukraine violate the UN Charter. It strikes at the heart of the commitment we all made in building this Organization from the dark tragedy of the Second World War. Rather than follow this Assembly’s decisions and a legally-binding order from the International Court of Justice, Russia had doubled down, including with a desperate effort to justify the unjustifiable.” Noting that while the world gathered in New York, President Vladimir Putin announced that Russia will conscript more young people to the war. “For Putin, this is a war to the death; for Ukraine, it is a war for life,” Ms. Joly stated. The impacts of this “illegal” war are profoundly felt around the world, she continued. “We must address the global food security crisis and other consequences of the illegal invasion with imagination and determination. “And those who break the law must be met with the force of the law. A permanent seat on the Security Council not a license to kill nor to silence anyone, and it should never guarantee impunity.” ‘More urgency on climate’ On climate change, Ms. Joly said the world must act with the same urgency as during the COVID pandemic. “From the Arctic to the small island States, climate change is an existential threat, and we are feeling its effects every day,” she said. “Canada has committed to reducing its greenhouse gas emissions by 40 to 45 per cent by 2030 and to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, and we have a credible plan to do so.” There are no simple solutions to the challenges the world is facing, she noted. “But it is clear that to isolate ourselves, to disregard the rule of law and to force people into silence runs counter to progress. And yet, certain countries are restricting civil liberties, violating human rights and conducting widespread surveillance of their po[CENSORED]tion. “This trend towards authoritarianism is extremely worrying,” she stated, drawing particular attention to the Xinjiang region of China. On human rights, no ‘defending the indefensible’ Likewise, Canada is concerned about the repression of human rights seen in several countries. “We know that human rights are universal by nature. Therefore, we cannot hide behind the pretext of national sovereignty to violate them; there are limits to defending the indefensible.” Ms. Joly also stressed the equality of women and girls as crucial for peace, justice and prosperity. Canada will repel increasing attacks on the rights and freedoms of women – from Afghanistan, where the Taliban are preventing women and girls from going to school, to Myanmar, where the women who are openly calling for a return to democracy are imprisoned by the military junta, tortured and subjected to “horrific” acts of sexual violence. “In Iran,” she continued, “women protesting the death of Mahsa Amini are met with arrests and bullets. We salute their courage and join them in sending a strong message that women’s rights are human rights. “Today, Prime Minister Trudeau announced that Canada will sanction those responsible, including Iran’s so-called morality police and its leadership.” https://news.un.org/en/story/2022/09/1128001

  12. Package costing £161 billion is aimed at stimulating economy Economists say measures will add to inflation and debt Liz Truss’s new British government delivered the most sweeping tax cuts since 1972, slashing levies on rich households and companies in a bid to boost economic growth in a move that triggered a massive market selloff in UK assets. Chancellor of the Exchequer Kwasi Kwarteng announced a series of tax cuts and regulatory reforms that will cost £161 billion over the next five years. Liz Truss’s new British government delivered the most sweeping tax cuts since 1972, slashing levies on rich households and companies in a bid to boost economic growth in a move that triggered a massive market selloff in UK assets. Chancellor of the Exchequer Kwasi Kwarteng announced a series of tax cuts and regulatory reforms that will cost £161 billion over the next five years. Unions and the Labour opposition said the measures will benefit the rich and do little to help those on moderate incomes with a tightening cost-of-living squeeze. The opposition Labour party branded it “casino economics” and others warned that the government’s fiscal credibility now depended on whether it can hit its growth target. Kwarteng rejected that criticism. “For too long in this country, we have indulged in a fight over redistribution,” the chancellor said. “We won’t apologize for managing the economy in a way that increases prosperity and living standards. 13. Adoptions and fosters have slowed down, while more and more pets are showing up at shelters Animal rescue organizations are struggling with burnout and mounting pressure to find suitable homes for adoptable pets. Meant 2B Loved pet rescue in Cranbrook is temporarily pausing the intake of animals, as is Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society (AARCS), as each organization struggles with an influx of surrendered animals. Meant 2B Loved is an entirely volunteer-run pet rescue society that operates across the East Kootenay region. It takes in surrendered animals with the goal of finding foster and permanent homes. Board member Stacie Johnson says that since the pandemic has slowed, so have adoption and foster rates. The society has made the tough decision to stop taking in animals since members have exhausted all of their resources. “This is not a decision that we’ve made lightly by any means. We’ve had a huge increase in local surrenders and the amount of suitable fosters we have has dropped right down,” Johnson said. “We had a surplus of fosters and adopters during COVID, when everyone was home, and now it is the opposite.” Deanna Thompson, Executive Director of AARCS said her organization is facing similar challenges. “Every shelter and rescue is feeling it,” Thompson said. “We saw a 200 per cent increase in adoption applications in 2020 compared to 2019, and families came in droves to foster pets. By August 2022, not only have we gone back to pre-COVID numbers, but we are seeing a further decrease in applications from 2019. “People returning to work, or a change of life they couldn’t see coming, including the effects inflation, are forcing people to give up their pets at higher rates. We are also seeing behavioural concerns with dogs that grew up during the pandemic who are under-socialized, requiring extensive and time-consuming rehabilitation.” “Couple that with an increase in animals in need, and we’ve hit a capacity within the animal welfare system that we haven’t seen in years.” One of the best ways to help, Johnson said, is to donate to your local rescue society. “We are so grateful to our current fosters who have been so patient with us and the animals. And to the other organizations that have helped us out as well,” Johnson said. Meanwhile, a parallel shortage of available veterinary care could result in some animals not being spayed or neutered. “This could produce unwanted offspring or contribute to surrenders if people cannot afford veterinary care,” Thompson said. Johnson said part of their reason for suspending intakes is to ensure they aren’t overwhelming vets. She hopes the pause can be lifted in 4-6 weeks, adding that board members face verbal abuse and mounting anxiety. “We rescue animals, that’s our number one priority – making sure they are healthy, and finding them a good home.” https://www.houston-today.com/news/animal-rescue-organizations-seeing-influx-of-surrendered-animals-post-pandemic/
  14. Investigators say new evidence may help finally solve the case of seven people who died after ingesting Tylenol laced with cyanide in the Chicago area in 1982. It sounds like an urban legend, but it was chillingly real in 1982. Tylenol capsules laced with cyanide that were sold in the Chicago suburbs were linked to the deaths of seven people, leading to a nationwide panic that had the Food and Drug Administration advising consumers across the country to stop taking Tylenol products. No one has ever been charged with the murders. Forty years after that terrifying period in September 1982, investigators say new evidence and a potential motive may be enough to finally solve the case. Here's what to know about the history of the case and the latest developments. Seven people between the ages of 12 and 35 years old died in 1982 after ingesting extra-strength Tylenol capsules that were found to have been laced with cyanide, a deadly chemical. The pills were sold at stores in suburban Chicago, and bottles of Tylenol were immediately pulled from shelves to be tested by health departments for the presence of cyanide. Local police departments and state’s attorneys offices have been trying to crack the case for 40 years. Three of the deaths occurred in Arlington Heights, where police told NBC Chicago last year that they still have the pills, bottles and boxes as evidence. “We still receive tips that are being evaluated and investigated. We also are still we’re looking at emerging forensic technology,” Sgt. Joe Murphy told NBC Chicago last year. The Illinois State Police told NBC News the investigation remains ongoing. A decadeslong investigation has centered around Massachusetts man James Lewis, 76, who was 36 at the time of the murders. Lewis admitted to the FBI that he sent a ransom letter at the time to Tylenol's parent company, Johnson & Johnson, according to reporting by The Chicago Tribune. The publication reported this week that it has obtained video and thousands of documents outlining law enforcement's current case and a possible motive for the killings. NBC News has not reviewed that evidence. More Info: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.today.com/today/amp/rcna49126

  18. The covid-19 pandemic has given sleepless nights to IT employees as many companies have announced mass layoffs and hiring freezes during the lockdown. Therefore, the stress of losing a job forced employees to take up secondary jobs during the lockdown. This practice of taking up secondary employment (also called moonlighting) has triggered a discussion about its legality in India. Work from home model helped employees to hide their dual employment from their employers, but now with companies calling back their employees to offices, the concern is expected to ease soon. The pandemic has opened doors to gig work opportunities as everything moved online. So there was a huge demand for gig workers in different sectors, especially in the information technology, financial, and e-commerce sectors. Recently, Infosys and IBM warned their employees against moonlighting. In the last month, Wipro Chairman Azim Premji also described moonlighting as cheating in a tweet. However, Swiggy’s recent policy is in contrast with the statements made by the IT giants as it made clear that its employees can take up the secondary jobs. What is moonlighting? It is a practice of taking up a second job in addition to a regular job, especially during nights and weekends. According to industry experts, it is one of the main reasons behind people not being willing to return to the offices. In the last two years, Moonlighting has become a thorn in the flesh for IT companies. An IT employee in Bengaluru was found working for seven companies simultaneously. In another incident, an employee of a reputed IT company refused to return to the office, which forced the employer to order a forensic probe. The inquiry found that he was working for another company without resigning from the present company and sharing crucial data through email. Is it legal in India to take up multiple jobs at the same time? There is a difference of opinion between companies and white-collar employees on this issue. Human Resource legal experts say a company can restrict an employee from taking up a second job. Software companies previously raised concerns about the possibility of employees sharing valuable and confidential information with other companies, especially with their competitors. The other concerns include the exploitation of company resources and a drop in the performance of an employee. According to Factories Act, Section 60, there is a restriction on dual employment in India. The same is also mentioned in the Shops and Establishments Act. However, each state has its own acts and rules which may change from state to state. In most cases, IT firms have been exempted from some sections of the acts, including dual employment. They are allowed to exercise their own initiatives as far as employment is concerned. An employee must read clauses mentioned in the employment contract and comply with companies’ policies and procedures. An employee may get terminated if a clause in his contract restricts him from taking up a second job. The question of legality completely depends on the terms of employment, agreed upon by the employer and employee. https://telanganatoday.com/moonlighting-is-latest-headache-for-software-companies
