    Below

Announced way back at E3 2013, you might not have heard much about Below, a brand-new indie game coming to Xbox One and PC hopefully by the end of the year. It's the latest title from Capybara Games, which is the development studio responsible for the likes of Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes, Superbrothers Sword and Sorcery EP, and the the most recent Super Time Force. Below is a survival exploration game with a stunning top-down style that makes the game's hero look absolutely tiny. The world takes over the screen, while your explorer is only a dot moving around in the dark. This beautiful game highlights how vulnerable your hero is, dwarfed by rock formations, dogged by enemies and perplexed by strange architecture. Through dark tones, clever shadows and the fact you can only see a small section of the world, Capybara heightens the sense of scale even more. Below is very minimalist in terms of plot too. All you know is that you're an explorer who must investigate underground caverns, but you don't know why or what you're looking for in this unknown dungeon. You must also enter through a door within an unusual mountain sitting on an equally strange island. Similar to other survival games like Don't Starve, you're looking at permadeath in Below. Once you die in the game, you'll loose that explorer forever and have to start afresh wtih a brand-new character. And although it seems like you're venturing into the caverns several years later, you'll be able to collect any non-perishable loot from your previous self's body as you come across it. Death can come quickly in Below too. A small stab from an enemy can cause you to start bleeding, which if you don't tend to it quickly with a plaster or eating something to stop the bleed and regenerate some health, you will die.

    ADR1FT

ADR1FT is an immersive First Person Experience (FPX) that recounts the story of an astronaut in danger. Floating quietly within the wreckage of a destroyed space station with no memories and a critically damaged EVA suit, the lone survivor struggles to understand the cause of the catastrophic event that killed everyone on board. The player must fight to stay alive by exploring the wreckage for precious resources and overcome the challenges of the unforgiving environment to repair the damaged emergency escape vehicle and safely return home. [505 Games. I feel a little sick. I've just taken off the DK2 development version of the Oculus Rift having played just 15 minutes on Adr1ft. Despite the slight queasiness, I came away thinking that it was one of the best examples of virtual reality gaming I've experienced so far. Created by game studio Three Zero One, Adr1ft is set in the year 2037 and tells the story of a female astronaut who is the sole survivor of a destroyed space station where all of her colleagues have died and she has no idea why. To make things even worse, her spacesuit is leaking oxygen. The goal is to to stay alive and get back home. As you repair items around the ship and your suit, you'll also begin to piece together exactly what happened to other crew members and why you've been left on your own by discovering audio logs. You're running low on oxygen thanks to a cracked helmet and you need to locate an oxygen tank quickly. I perform a somersault while getting to grips with the controls. Floating through a doorway, I enter a room where a computer terminal lies at the centre. Reaching out my hand using the controler to activate the terminal, I'm told I need to make repairs to the outside of the ship. Struggling my way through large debris, I finally make it out of a broken window and out into space. It's a pretty special experience seeing Earth as your backdrop. Look down and you can see your feet. Look around and you can stare into the darkness. What makes this different from other VR experiences in space is that the gorgeous visuals really play a part in creating the illusion of being in space. After getting accustomed to my surroundings, I get to work on making the repairs. Not long after that, my time with Adr1ft is cut short and I'm both thankful and disappointed that's the case. Adr1ft is a reminder of how virtual reality is going to take gaming to a really special place. This wasn't even the latest Oculus headset, yet I still felt fully immersed in the action. Add in the sense of isolation and disorientation that an environment like space creates, and it's a pretty special experience. If you added support for the new Oculus Touch controllers letting you actually reach out for objects, it would certainly add another dimension to the gameplay. While the use of virtual reality certainly shines through in just fifteen minutes, I didn't feel all that great afterwards. It'll be interesting to see how comfortable it is to play for longer periods. I do know that I want to step into the Adr1ft world again with or without the VR headset.

    FallOut 4

Bethesda Game Studios, the award-winning creators of Fallout 3 and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, welcome you to the world of Fallout 4 – their most ambitious game ever, and the next generation of open-world gaming. Its user interface is often too opaque, and at times Fallout 4 has some of the same technical issues as Bethesda's previous games, from strange AI quirks to performance hitches and actual hard locks of the software. It's frequently unforgiving. And occasionally, despite a next-gen visual overhaul, its human characters still look a little terrifying. I'm not nearly as big a fan of the Diamond City radio DJ as I was of Three Dog in Fallout 3. And all of that matters just enough for me to feel obligated to say it before I explain how, after more than 60 hours of Fallout 4 in seven days, the only thing stopping me from going back into it is taking this time, right now, to tell you about the game. As the sole survivor of Vault 111, you enter a world destroyed by nuclear war. Every second is a fight for survival, and every choice is yours. Only you can rebuild and determine the fate of the Wasteland. Welcome home. 6. The legend of Aarbron is told once more as you embark upon a ferocious action adventure, seeking to dethrone the evil lord Maletoth, in the visually stunning world of Shadow of the Beast. For those of you who aren’t in the know, Shadow of the Beast is a PS4 reinvention of the original Amiga game released back in 1989. It was a game known for its particularly impressive graphics, especially its ability to show up to twelve levels of parallax scrolling backdrops behind its side-scrolling platforming. The original game spawned two sequels: Shadow of the Beast 2 in 1990 and Shadow of the Beast 3 in 1992. But after that the series disappeared. Now, though, it’s making a comeback courtesy of developer Heavy Spectrum Entertainment Labs, headed up by über-passionate original Shadow of the Beast fan Matt Birch – who you may remember from his rather emotional presentation back at GamesCom 2013. Nearly two years after that initial announcement, I’ve had the chance to have a play around with a pre-alpha build of Shadow of the Beast for PS4 at a special PlayStation Digital Gaming Showcase event. 7. Star Fox Zero was first shown off in prototype form at E3 2014 behind closed doors to select press and was not shown at Nintendo's Digital Event. It was properly unveiled at E3 2015 in playable form with a final title. It was then also announced that PlatinumGames was co-developing the game. Originally set for a Holiday 2015 release, Shigeru Miyamoto announced a delay to Q1 2016 in September 2015, explaining that they could ship the game on time but feel they need to add more polish and make the appeal of the two-screen design clearer for players. The game uses both the gamepad screen and the TV screen to present different viewpoints to the player, allowing them to fly and shoot independently in different directions. The Arwing can now transform into a walking mech that resembles a chicken. The Landmaster tank from Star Fox 64 returns and can transform into a shuttle for a brief period of time. A new vehicle, the gyrocopter which can dispatch a remote controlled robot to hack panels and reach narrow passages, makes its debut in the game. Star Fox Zero is being pitched as a retelling of the original Star Fox 64 story, a reimagining with a new take on the gameplay. A co-op mode which has one player controlling the Arwing and another player takes on the ship's weapons is also planned. Images : Release Date : April,21,2016 Trailer

    Gigantic

Gigantic is a MOBA-like game I actually want to play it really nice <3 I don't play most MOBAs, but Gigantic has my attention. It's not one, to be clear, but there are similarities, especially with something like SMITE. Here, hero characters are leveling up to gain new abilities, but instead of pushing lanes to ultimately bring down the other team's base, they're fighting with and protecting their hulking guardian while trying to bring down the opposing team's. This PC action game is in the works at Bellevue, Washington-based Motiga for release next year. It's the studio's debut title, though the announcement for Gigantic is quick to point out that the team "is no stranger to blockbuster hits." Motiga's VP of product development James Phinney, for instance, served as lead designer on Guild Wars and StarCraft. Gigantic has been in development for two years thanks to funding from SmileGate, NetEase, and NeoWiz -- and yes, it'll be free to play. No surprises there. From the second or so of gameplay footage tucked away in this trailer, yeah, I'm eager to see more. That owl character owns. The world of Gigantic is a world of mystery, where airships soar over ancient ruins and a fantasy empire teeters on the brink of chaos. Charge into battle and lead your guardian to victory. Gigantic rewards the daring, the clever, and the swift. Images : Trailer

    Get Even

I had completely forgotten about Get Even, the Farm 51-built shooter that was announced in very early 2014 with a strange little trailer and a promise of a "photo-realism aspiring, single/multiplayer hybrid first person shooter." But today's announcement of a publishing deal with Bandai Namco—and a delay to 2016—has brought it all back. Unfortunately, what is has not brought back is any clarity over what the game is about. See what you make of this: "Get Even is the psychological thriller movie genre made video game, blurring lines and blending the frantic tension of the FPS genre with the oppressive intimacy of a complex personal investigation," Bandai Namco said in the announcement. "Eschewing the usual clichés and gung-ho scenarios currently inhabiting the FPS genre, Get Even packs an alternative, mature and intriguing story combined with strong shooter elements." I cannot help but be impressed by how much that description has interested me, even as it tells me virtually nothing about the actual game. It's a shooter, which we already knew, and it will feature a "mature" story, another detail that was already on the table as well. Interestingly, no mention is made of the multiplayer elements, despite that being a focal point of the original announcement and the "making of" trailer from last April that's embedded above. That may or may not reflect a change in the game's direction; The Farm 51's website talks about removing "the artificial barrier between single-player and multiplayer," but it also still carries a 2015 release target. 2016 is admittedly not much detail as far as launch windows go. The important thing, at least for those of us who think this is a potentially interesting idea, is that Get Even is still being worked on. And with Bandai Namco's involvement, hopefully we'll start to see more of what's in store in the relatively near [CENSORED]ure A new breed of first-person action game, Get Even subtlety removes the classic division between single-player and multiplayer experiences to unfold two linked stories. The game’s plot revolves around the memories of its central heroes which have a dramatic effect on how the game progresses. The route the player chooses to follow determines their personality as the game unfolds. The carefully crafted storyline mixes elements of thriller and horror with exploration. As these personality traits are revealed, the merging of single-player and multiplayer elements tighten. When players embark on a single-player mission, others on the network can join the quest as enemies, so players never know whether their opponents are human or CPU-based. This suspense further heightens the player’s feeling of a threat. To create the photo-realistic visuals that bring the gritty universe to life, Get Even is the first game to use large-scale, real-world scanning to create expansive and lifelike environments. This 3D scanning technology combines with advanced lighting effects to create a stunning and believable world that pushes the boundaries of the genre. 16. It's been three years since the last Mass Effect game, but the fourth installment in BioWare's space opera RPG series is finally on its way to Earth. Officially unveiled at E3 2015, Mass Effect Andromeda will be unlike any other Mass Effect game we've seen so far, giving you a whole new adventure, and a whole new part of the universe, to explore and get stuck in with. Much of the game is still shrouded in mystery, as Bioware only gave us the tiniest of teaser trailers to whet our appetite at this year's E3, but we've rounded up every last scrap of information currently available to give you the best idea about what to expect next from Canada's foremost RPG studio. Here's everything we know about the game so far. It's not a lot to go on, but thankfully BioWare has been more forthcoming about the game in previous teaser trailers. The E3 2014 trailer, for instance, showed potential story ideas and conceptual prototype footage from the initial stages of development. The studio said that the top player request was to go somewhere completely new and play as new characters, so BioWare will be doing just that. You'll be playing in a whole new region of space in Mass Effect Andromeda where you'll be able to pick a planet on the other side of the galaxy and go and explore it. You'll also be playing a new, customisable human protagonist, although you'll still be conneted to N7, the military designation held by Shepard before s/he became a Council Spectre. Since then, BioWare's also released some concept art, showing just how large those worlds will be compared to your tiny Mako. These huge open spaces should definitely give you a lot of room to manoeuvre your vehicle across its varied terrain, but it looks like you'll also be traversing more familiar-looking space stations alongside these huge planets. Gameplay and story These planets could well the biggest yet if the latest rumours are to be believed, as a user on Reddit has supposedly filled out an official survey about the game that reveals several potential story points and gameplay details. According to the survey, the game will take allegedly place in the Helius Cluster, which is a cluster of hundreds of solar systems in the Andromeda Galaxy that's thousands of light years across and four times the size of Mass Effect 3. You'll also be "far removed by time and space from Commander Shepard's heroic acts and the final events of the Mass Effect trilogy". Your human avatar will supposedly be "a pathfinder, [who's] a combat-trained by untested explorer leading an expedition into the Helius Cluster to establish a new home for humanity." Your main objectives will be collecting resources, building colonies and scouring the land for ancient Remnant alien blueprints that will allow you to craft better weapons and equipment. A jetpack jump and cyro-beam are mentioned, the latter of which can be upgraded to target specific enemies or deal wider area damage. You'll supposedly have seven distinct crew members on your team, all of which have their own personalities and abilities. Much like the previous games, you'll be able to bring two of them with you when you go out on missions. One such team member is (potentially) called Cora, who can deploy a biotic shield that can protect you and your teammates but still allow you to shoot incoming enemies.
