Situation in Venezuela
"It is impressive to see the similarities in the situation that Venezuela is currently experiencing with what happened in Syria before the beginning of the war that is facing our country," said the President of Syria, Bashar Al Assad.
"Latin America, and Venezuela in particular, had constituted the backyard of the United States during the past decades, during which Western countries and especially the United States, achieved their economic interests, through the interference of large transnational corporations within Of the country, "said Al Assad.
In this sense, the Head of State said that "Latin America was liberated during the past 20 years and obtained its self-determination, its governments began to defend the interests of their peoples."
Al Assad said that this is "something unacceptable for the US, so they take advantage of what is happening in the world now."
The president recalled how "the coups d'etat that happened during the 60s and 70s, whether these military or political coups, served only to consolidate the interests of the United States over these peoples."
It is noteworthy that Syria has been a victim of armed conflict since 2011, when Saudi Arabia intensified its support for mercenaries opposed to President Bashar Al Assad, allowing the expansion of the terrorist group Daesh and other extremist organizations funded by the US through their NGOs. Official figures show 500,000 people killed and the complete devastation of Syrian infrastructure.
