  1. Rabat - Lenium, a Spanish renewable energy company, is partnering with a consortium of four Moroccan institutes to develop a solution for the production of water by capturing moisture from the air. Dubbed the Lenium SolarWater, the project was first launched in 2021, the project is a joint effort between two Spanish institutions: the Institute of Research in Solar Energy and New Energies (IRESEN), and the Center for Industrial Technological Development of Spain (CDTI). The consortium of Moroccan institutions consists of Green Energy Park, a green venture incubator, Agadir’s Ibn Zohr University, Ecole Nationale Superieure d'Arts et Metiers in Rabat, and Solintel Developpement, a research firm. The project’s initial schedule indicates that it would take 24 months before it becomes operational, according to a statement from Lenium. As part of the project, the company and its partners would conduct laboratory studies, modeling, simulation, and optimization work. The project would then be implemented in three countries, Morocco, Ivory Coast, and Spain, to evaluate the performance of the solution under various climatic conditions. The Lenium SolarWater is part of the 3rd bilateral Spain-Moroccan “Inno-EspaMaroc 2021,” a program aiming to boost bilateral cooperation and know-how transfer between the two countries in energy projects. The project comes at a time when Morocco is resorting to innovation to solve its water scarcity problem. To address the growing threat of water scarcity, Morocco is currently on track to build 20 water desalination plants, with the goal of providing a production input of one billion cubic meters of water. As of 2016, the country held 16 desalination plants with a production capacity of 132 million cubic meters annually. Despite the promising outlook of green water production projects, these efforts maybe not be enough to mitigate the effect of climate change on the country’s already sub-optimal water reserves. Converging reports from the World Bank warn that po[CENSORED]tion growth, increasing economic activities, and urbanization, coupled with climate change “will most likely” cause a severe case of water scarcity in Morocco in the following two decades. https://www.moroccoworldnews.com/2022/10/351647/spanish-lenium-to-launch-green-water-capture-project-in-morocco
  2. Rabat - UK ambassador to Morocco Simon Martin expressed optimism for the future of relations between the two countries under the reign of King Charles III. This year marks the 300th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations between Morocco and the UK, which continue to express determination to boost cooperation in all fields, particularly trade. In an interview with Morocco World News, Martin reminisced on the reign of late Queen Elizabeth II and recalled her ties with Morocco, expressing hope for the future of cooperation between the two kingdoms. Reminiscing on the past “She was always a friend of Morocco,” Martin said about the late Queen Elizabeth II, recalling her visit to the country in 1980. “I can’t tell you how many people I and my colleagues have met over the last days coming to pay their condolences to the queen.” During that visit, the Queen planted a Jacaranda tree in the garden of the ambassador’s residence, Martin recalled. That same tree saw a one-minute silence held on September 18 in her memory. “There are other more personal memories that people have,” the ambassador continued. “For example, most people believe it’s the only time Her Majesty has ever been photographed eating with her hands.” For the ambassador, the connection between Queen Elizabeth and the late King Hassan II didn’t only signify the ties between Morocco and Britain, or the two kingdoms’ people, but were also a sign of close relations between the royal families themselves. After 70 years of rule, during which she became Britain’s longest ever reigning monarch, Queen Elizabeth II passed away on September 8, sending a shockwave throughout Britain and the world. Following her passing, Morocco’s King Mohammed VI sent his condolences to Britain’s King Charles III, calling her a “special great friend” of Morocco. On Monday, September 19, Morocco’s Prince Moulay Rachid attended the queen’s funeral representing Morocco, being one of the hundreds of world leaders who were invited to the event. Read also: Respect Resonates As UK Commemorates the Remarkable Life of Queen Elizabeth II Looking to the future Shortly following Queen Elizabeth II’s passing, King Charles III formally took the throne, with many pointing to his history with the Middle East and Arab Islamic culture as a sign that relations with the region will only get better under his reign. Simon Martin sees a brighter future for the Moroccan-British relations under the new King’s reign. “He [King Charles] and our Queen Consort are very familiar with Morocco and there’s already a very warm relationship with His Majesty King Mohammed VI and other members of the royal family,” he said, mentioning that the two have already been on visits to the country. Cooperation between the two countries is on an upwards trajectory, Martin said, highlighting the new King’s passion for and interest in the region’s culture as an advantage. He recalled the new monarch’s advocacy for creating the Oxford Center of Islamic Studies. “This has received really strong support from Morocco and the Moroccan Royal Family,” he added, before talking about the Moroccan garden in the center. “It’s a small piece of Morocco in this really valuable and important institute.” Speaking of cooperation between the two countries, Martin expressed satisfaction with the current state of relations, but also mentioned that there is considerable potential for greater cooperation. Trade between the UK and Morocco has been going up, especially as Morocco has been trying to vary its partnerships, and as the UK searches for more partners outside the EU. “We’re also seeing a great deal of interest now that the UK is an independent trading nation among Moroccan companies to do business with the UK,” the ambassador detailed. “There is investment going in both directions, trade is on the increase.” In 2021, electrical equipment constituted Morocco’s top export to the UK, coming in at a value of $271 million (MAD 3 billion). Fruits and vegetables come second, followed by vehicles. Fertilizers, meat, and apparel were also among the top exports, according to numbers from Trading Economics. Agriculture, renewable energies, and the automotive industry, all of which are important for Morocco’s economy, were cited as the sectors experiencing the most improvement. In September, British farmers expressed interest in moving their production into Morocco and other African nations as costs keep rising in their home country. Moroccan agricultural exports to the UK have also considerably increased following Brexit. Seeking to diversify its energy sources, the UK is also set to start importing green energy from the North African Kingdom, through the ambitious Xlinks submarine power cable project. Advancing tourism Morocco and the UK are also exploring means to advance tourism cooperation. Emphasizing the importance of the industry, Martin told MWN that “the numbers of visitors [British visitors] are going up, flights are going up,” adding that the number of British tourists visiting Morocco has been recovering following the COVID-19 pandemic. “The tourist industry around Marrakech in particular has been happy for that,”he said More tourists have been entering Morocco this year as the North African country continued easing its travel restrictions. Many Moroccan cities have been emerging in global rankings as some of the best-value destinations. Boosting military, education cooperation The UK and Morocco are looking forward to expanding ties in different other fields, including defense. “There are plenty of other areas in which this is happening…We have a really important joint military exercise due to take place, involving both the army and air force,” Martin said. The exercise is set to take place next month, in addition to a joint naval exercise currently taking place. Education is also emerging as another key area of cooperation between Britain and Morocco, as Martin states that there are more than a 1,000 Moroccan students now pursuing their studies at British universities for the first time. Morocco’s youth has been gradually adopting English as their second language of choice, leading to the prominence of English language teaching over the past years. As a result more students are aiming to study in Britain or the US over France, which was the go-to choice for decades. Amid this transition, and Morocco’s seeming ambition to grow closer to its anglophone allies, the UK has been one of the countries eager to take advantage of the rising prevalence of English. https://www.moroccoworldnews.com/2022/10/351641/uk-ambassador-optimistic-about-future-of-morocco-britain-relations
  3. No Man’s Sky 4.0 launches later this week, and while the update won’t be as big as the 2.0 “Next” and 3.0 “Beyond” updates, it will still represent a fairly major shakeup for the procedurally-generated space exploration game. This time around, the focus will be more on streamlining the player experience and providing more options for different types of players. As such, in a new Eurogamer interview with Hello Games boss Sean Murray, he promises ver. 4.0 will bring refinement to the game’s tutorial. A new “Relaxed Mode” is also being added, for players who just want to see the game’s content without a lot of grinding. "When we [originally] launched we made the game a little bit more difficult and more grindy, perhaps, because we didn't have the breadth of content [we do now]. But now people come in and they want to see a mech, they want to see the story, they want to go to the Nexus and things like that, and so we wanted to find that right balance for new players. [...] [Relaxed Mode is a] very fun version of No Man's Sky where the focus is on exploration, less on just surviving and grinding, [where it's easier] to see the six years of content that's there.” Ah, but it isn’t just beginners who are being catered to. Murray also promises Survival Mode is getting even more daunting and an expansion for players' inventories is coming. Meanwhile, custom games, that will allow you to adjust everything from controls, to difficulty, to the way the universe works are also being added. One other thing coming is a Nintendo Switch version of the game, which is something a lot of folks doubted could be done right. Per Murray, the Switch version is largely on par with other versions of the game, with a couple exceptions – there will be no settlements and no multiplayer. Murray explained why he thought it was okay to launch No Man’s Sky on Switch without multiplayer… “Multiplayer in No Man's Sky is important, I love it as a feature, it's great… [but] it's not our most important feature compared to other games that have multiplayer. A lot of people play No Man's Sky effectively alone, single-player, and [Switch] is less focused on multiplayer as well, because of the nature that you're playing it on a train, you're playing on the toilet, out and about or in bed at night or whatever. Loads of people play multiplayer games on Switch… but it's a smaller percentage, and so our attitude is release, and see how people interact with it, and see what's important to them and react to that.” No Man’s Sky can be played now on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and PS5. Version 4.0 and the Switch port of the game both launch on October 7 https://wccftech.com/no-mans-sky-4-0-relaxed-mode-survival-mode-custom-games/.

  5. AMD hasn't even started with its Zen 4 CPUs yet and there's already support for its next-gen Zen 5 CPUs being added within monitoring software. AMD Zen 5 CPUs Get Super-Early Support Within HWiNFO Real-Time Monitoring Software AMD's first Zen 4 CPU family, codenamed Raphael, has just entered the consumer market as the Ryzen 7000 lineup. Now the company is planning to launch its Genoa CPUs for the EPYC and the Phoenix Point / Dragon Range CPUs for the Ryzen mobility family. That won't be the end of Zen 4 however, the red team also has several custom SOCs and Zen 4 V-Cache chips in the work. But we know that the development of next-gen Zen cores is already underway and since Zen 4 is already developed, work has now started on Zen 5 and the future chip architectures. HWiNFO is currently going to enable early support for some Zen 5 CPU families. It is likely that the software maker already has some information in regard to the product IDs and early data. Considering that this is early support, there's a lot more to come in the years ahead. But with the next update, the software will have at least some basic level of support if Zen 5 does start appearing online or if an AMD engineer plans on using the software for hardware monitoring or diagnostics. AMD's Zen 4 will be followed by Zen 5 in 2024 which will also come in 3D V-Cache flavors and will utilize a 4nm process node while the Compute-Optimized, Zen 5C, will leverage the more advanced 3nm process node. Following is the full list of Zen CPU cores confirmed by the red team: AMD confirmed that the new Zen 5 architecture will launch in 2024 which confirms previous rumors. The Zen 5 CPUs will come in the three aforementioned flavors and the chip itself is designed from the ground up with a completely brand new microarchitecture that focuses on delivering enhanced performance and efficiency, a re-pipelined front end, and wide issue along with Integrated AI and machine learning optimization. Some of the key features of Zen 5 CPUs include: Enhanced performance and efficiency Re-pipelined front end and wide issue Integrated AI and Machine Learning optimizations. https://wccftech.com/amd-next-gen-zen-5-cpus-get-early-support-within-hwinfo/
  6. Rabat - Two days after Morocco’s market watchdog issued a disturbing report on the country’s fuel market, the government issued a statement yesterday, saying that they are working on the “majority of the recommendations.” On the list of over 20 detailed recommendations, the government commented on only three, relating to imposing a tax on excess profits from fuel companies and providing direct aid to transportation professionals. Regarding the new proposed tax on excess profits, the government says that it is edging towards implementing a tax targeting fuel companies seeking to take advantage of the energy crisis to boost their profit margins. Setting aside the proposal to slap a higher tax on fuel companies, the government’s response to the Council’s report leaves much to be desired for Moroccans trying to make ends meet. The government did not acknowledge a key finding within the report, which argued that predatory market practices and monopoly power are a likely cause of the relentless rise in fuel prices. The omission is likely to create further suspicion of the current cabinet, given the head of government’s position at the helm of one of the companies suspected of abusing its monopoly power. Much like reports issued by the Accountability Council on the irregularities in managing public funds, the Competition Council’s report looks to be on track to being brushed aside after becoming national headlines for a few days following its publication. On the question of distributing targeted subsidies to transportation professionals, the government’s response seems to take little direction from the council’s recommendations. The government argues that the method it has adopted to distribute fuel subsidies is the only viable option given that there is no comprehensive public record to rely on when distributing aid. The council meanwhile has actually called to halt this form of aid, as they are detrimental to the state budget and do little to solve the underlying issue. According to the competition council, the strategy of subsidizing energy products has proved its limitations in the past. The last time Morocco attempted to subsidize fuel in 2012, the state budget spent MAD 50 billion ($4.5 billion) on fuel subsidies, the equivalent of the budget of the ministry of education then, and five times the budget of the health ministry. Instead, the council proposes a list of reforms that would enhance the market’s openness and encourage competition to drive prices down. https://www.moroccoworldnews.com/2022/09/351606/moroccos-government-promises-to-combat-rising-fuel-prices
  7. The State of New York adopted a plan to phase out sales of gas- and diesel-engined cars and light trucks by 2035, following efforts by California and Washington. New York is implementing interim targets to reach goal of ZEV-only sales, with a 35 percent target by 2026. EV adoption rates in many states, especially between the two coasts, currently lag behind the announced targets, and could create vastly different car sales environments in different neighboring states. The State of New York has joined Washington and California in introducing efforts that will phase out the sale of new gas and diesel-engined cars and light trucks in the coming years. New York Governor Kathy Hochul directed the State Department of Environmental Conservation to take steps that will gradually phase out the sale of new internal combustion engine vehicles by the year 2035, with a number of interim targets between now and the target year. The governor's initiative essentially directs a state administrative agency to adopt rules through rulemaking procedures, similar to an effort first announced by California Governor Gavin Newsom two years ago. However, it was California's adoption of Advanced Clean Cars II last month that has opened the door to New York state to adopt the same goal. According to the plan, the rules will require that 35% of light vehicle sales in the state be of zero-emission vehicles by 2026—identical to California's interim targets promulgated by CARB—moving up to 68 percent by 2030. By 2035, all 100% of light vehicle sales will be mandated to be ZEV. Some critics of California's efforts in this regard argue that the plans don't actually go far enough, neglecting to add more stringent requirements to internal combustion vehicles. "Both the Advanced Clean Trucks and Advanced Clean Cars II rules would provide the needed regulatory certainty to support a stable market for long-term vehicle purchasing decisions and the development of ZEV charging infrastructure," the governor's office said in a statement. By 2026, the state is investing over $1 billion in zero emissions vehicles, which includes various purchase rebate programs, including a point-of-sale rebate that could take up to $2000 off the purchase price of a zero-emission vehicle by private buyers within the state, adding to the revamped federal rebate program. "New York is a national climate leader and an economic powerhouse, and we're using our strength to help spur innovation and implementation of zero-emission vehicles on a grand scale," Governor Hochul said in announcing the plan. Still, New York's plan is more conservative than that of the state of Washington, which is working toward a phase-out of the sales of internal combustion engine cars and light trucks by 2030 according to legislation that was signed into law by Governor Jay Inslee earlier this year. Washington has a head start on many other US states for a number of reasons, including current EV adoption rates, but will still have to take significant steps to bring about a 2030 ICE vehicle sales ban. While New York state's planned 2035 phase-out may appear distant enough to be plausible, the interim 35% ZEV target by 2026 perhaps appears less so. It would require nearly double-digit EV sales growth, on average, every year between now and the end of 2026. It is also worth noting that many automakers themselves are not forecasting such growth for EVs in the US by the start of 2026, and a few have indicated that 30% would be optimistic by the year 2030. "With sustained state and federal investments, our actions are incentivizing New Yorkers, local governments, and businesses to make the transition to electric vehicles," Governor Hochul added. "We're driving New York's transition to clean transportation forward, and today's announcement will benefit our climate and the health of our communities for generations to come." https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a41468778/new-york-state-gas-car-ban-2035/
  8. Rabat - Morocco’s world-class football player, Achraf Hakimi, and his spouse, Spanish-Tunisian actress Hiba Abouk were chosen to feature on the October cover issue of Vogue Arabia, a benchmark American fashion magazine. Describing them as an “Arab power” couple, Vogue Arabia explains that the couple’s “finding a balance between personal and professional obligations” was key behind selecting the young stars for the October cover. Hakimi and Abouk are both successful in their respective careers. Abouk is currently planning to return to the big screen in a 2023 film project, while Hakimi only last year made a big career leap by joining French football club Paris-Saint-Germain. However, despite their hectic careers, the couple is happily married with two children. “As the celebrity status and scrutiny mount in equal measure, the couple acknowledges that finding a work-life balance requires sacrifice, and looks to each other to weather the storms,” according to the Vogue Arabia article announcing the news. The couple's life, however, is not all roses. In May 2022, the couple came under public scrutiny as social media users criticized Abouk’s “revealing” dress on the red carpet of the 75th edition of the Cannes Film Festival, France. Speaking to Vogue Arabia about the incident, Abouk said: “We don’t expect from a man the same things that we expect from a woman… it’s like that in the whole world, and in our Arab world too.” Hakimi also shared with the lifestyle magazine the pressure that arises from leading a football career between two countries. “Here in Paris you play for the team of the city, but it’s not the same to play with the team of your country.” “Millions and millions of people are going to support you because you play for them,” he said, adding that “It’s like you play for your grandfather and their grandfathers. You play for a lot of people, a lot of Moroccans.” https://www.moroccoworldnews.com/2022/10/351635/moroccos-hakimi-and-spouse-featured-on-vogue-cover
  9. Rabat - On Saturday, King Mohammed VI congratulated Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on his appointment as Prime Minister. In his congratulation message, the King said he wishes Prince Mohammed bin Salman “every success in the accomplishment of his high missions,” stressing his “deep satisfaction with ties of solid brotherhood and sincere friendship” between Saudi Arabia and Morocco. “The King also welcomed the deep and solid relations between the two countries, based on fruitful cooperation, active solidarity, and mutual esteem,” the congratulations message concluded. Mohammed bin Salman, MBS, was appointed Saudi Arabia’s Prime Minister in a cabinet reshuffle on September 27. King Salman ordered the government reshuffle, Saudi Press Agency said. Saudi Arabia and Morocco have been frequently expressing determination to boost diplomatic relations. The Gulf country is Morocco’s top trading partner in the Arab world. Last year, trade between Rabat and Riyadh reached $1.76 billion. Over 250 Saudi-owned companies operate in Morocco. In June, the two countries discussed ways to bolster their cooperation, particularly in trade. The countries made their determination during the 13th session of the Moroccan-Saudi Commission Joint Commission. In 2020, Saudi direct investments in Morocco stood $26.6 million, covering several industries including tourism, agriculture, and real estate. Saudi Arabia is also among the countries that support Morocco’s territorial integrity and sovereignty over southern provinces in Western Sahara. Recently, the monarch expressed satisfaction with the Arab support for Morocco’s position. “I also wish to extend my thanks to the other Arab countries which have consistently confirmed their support for the Moroccanness of the Sahara, especially the Gulf Cooperation Council States, Egypt, and Yemen,” the King said during his speech on the anniversary of the Revolution of King and People in August. https://www.moroccoworldnews.com/2022/10/351634/king-mohammed-vi-congratulates-mohammed-bin-salman-on-appointment-as-saudi-pm
  10. A Horizon Zero Dawn remake is currently in the works for PlayStation 5, alongside a multiplayer game based on the series, according to rumors circulating online. As reported by MP1st and corroborated by VGC, a remake of the open-world game developed by Guerilla Games is in development for the current generation console by Sony. While it is not yet known if this will be more of a remaster than a remake built from the ground up, the new version of the game will feature an improved lighting system, overhauled textures, improved animations, and new character models. Additionally, the new version of the game will feature the many accessibility options introduced in Horizon Forbidden West, multiple display modes and quality of life improvements. Outside of that, we were told there is big focus on bringing the accessibility options that the sequel introduced. Different graphic modes will also be available, though that is a given since most PS5 games have a performance, quality, and uncapped performance to take advantage of VRR (variable refresh rate). For gameplay changes themselves, there are some subtle improvements, mostly those being the quality of life improvements the sequel brought. It wasn’t confirmed whether or not we would see flyable mounts, or a glider, though we suppose that is unlikely given to their story related importance in the sequel. The Horizon Zero Dawn PlayStation 5 remake isn't the only entry in the series to be in the works, as PS5, PC multiplayer game is currently in development. Not much else has been revealed about this project, other that it will feature the tribes introduced so far in the series. As it turns out, the Zero Dawn Remake/Remaster isn’t the only Horizon related project that is in the works, as we also learned from other sources (info collaborated with our original source) that a team (presumed to be Guerrilla Games) at PlayStation are currently developing a Horizon online multiplayer game for both the PS5 and PC. Two sources have verified that the project is in indeed real, with a third giving some brief details that it may feature a form of co-op. Customization is said to around the different tribes established in the Horizon franchise, however, we have not been able to verify either that, nor the details on whether or not the online would feature any sort of co-op, or PvP. With Horizon Zero Dawn having been released only 5 years ago, the game obviously holds up quite well, but it seems like this isn't stopping Sony from remaking it already, following a trend that has started with The Last of Us Part 1. As the Japanese company has yet to confirm anything regarding the matter, however, we must take what has been revealed today with a grain of salt. The original Horizon Zero Dawn is now available on PC and PlayStation 4. https://wccftech.com/a-horizon-zero-dawn-playstation-5-remake-is-in-the-works-alongside-a-multiplayer-game-rumor/

The new feature, which gives users the ability to edit their own published tweets within a 30-minute window, is limited to Twitter Blue subscribers for now. Twitter’s premium subscription service is currently only available in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand – at a monthly cost of $4.99 / AU$4.49 – but is expected to launch in more countries in the near future. Although the new edit button gives Twitter Blue users the option to rectify embarrassing mistakes, regular Twitter users can identify edited tweets through a handy ‘last edited’ label (which itself appears next to a bold pencil icon). hellothis is a test to make sure the edit button works, we’ll let you know how it goesSeptember 29, 2022 By clicking on this ‘last edited’ label, anyone can see a tweet’s edit history (i.e. what changes have been made, and when), which is presumably Twitter’s solution for maintaining transparency between paying and non-paying users. The first edited tweet (see above) was sent by the company’s official Twitter Blue account. The original tweet read “this is a test to make sure the edit button works”, but was later edited to read “this is a test to make sure the edit button works, we’ll let you know how it goes”. The former version of the tweet now bears a label reading “There’s a new version of this Tweet. See the latest Tweet” for clarity. In addition to editable tweets, Twitter Blue offers subscribers more UI customization options, ad-free articles and the ability to undo tweets via a 60-second countdown timer. For more Twitter-related content, read up on why Twitter's edit button isn't actually the feature most people wanted it to be, or check out our list of three Twitter alternatives if you're thinking of ditching the service. https://www.techradar.com/news/twitters-edit-button-is-finally-here-but-not-for-everyone

  13. • The Chevrolet Corvair is known mainly for getting the attention of safety advocate Ralph Nader, but it also represents GM's nascent attempt to fight the rising tide of small imported cars to the U.S. • This rear-engined Corvair Monza Spyder has a 2.4-liter turbo flat-six engine and a four-speed manual transmission, not to mention red vinyl upholstery. • The online auction goes until Monday, October 3. I'm not a Boomer, and I've never fallen for air-cooled cars in the past, so I'm not certain to what I should credit my emergent fascination with Corvairs. But, like many forms of uncanny automotive affection, the first step is in admitting that we are powerless against them. That's why this 1963 Corvair Monza Spyder was my choice for pick of the day on Bring a Trailer—which, like Car and Driver, is part of Hearst Autos. Perhaps I love Corvairs because they represent, in actuality, a multiversal path General Motors could have (and kind of did) take toward modernization and future-proofing, at a pivot point within the industry. In response to the rising po[CENSORED]rity of the first imported vehicle to gain traction in the United States—the VW Beetle—GM put its engineering and design know-how into practice to create this small(ish), rear-engined, air-cooled, independently suspended, distinctly European-styled vehicle. The Corvair was a hit, eventually spawning an entire family of models including a coupe, sedan, wagon, van, pickup, and—like this one—convertible. This top-performing Monza Spyder sported one of the first industry applications of turbocharging. Forced induction increased the power and torque of the Corvair's flat-six by more than 50 percent, making the car a respectable performer. This particular model sports some interesting period-correct accessories, like a front stone guard and spoiler and 13-inch Halibrand wheels with three-bar centers. And while I'm not usually one for white exteriors, or red interiors, it all works perfectly on this example. Moreover, Ford's blistering success with the more traditional (and more profitable) Mustang—derived from an existing car platform, unlike the Corvair's custom one—fostered the GM brass's pre-existing predilection for pushing cheap, unsophisticated pushrod V-8s. As with many products, the company improved the Corvair until it was approaching greatness, then pulled the plug, claiming futility, to focus on simple, stylish muscle cars: Camaros, Chevelles, Novas. This behavior, and the endemic hubris underpinning it, caused GM to ignore the surging consumer preference for imports from Europe and Japan until it was already too late. The Big Three spent decades trying to catch up on engineering and styling techniques it could have fostered intrinsically if it had stuck to the template offered up here. If that isn't reason enough to buy, I don't know what is. The Corvair's online auction goes until Monday, October 3, and with four days left between now and then, bidding is only at $3255, so a bargain could be in the making. https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a41450107/1963-chevrolet-corvair-monza-spyder-bring-a-trailer-auction/
  14. Rabat - The list of top banks in the North Africa region is dominated by both Moroccan and Egyptian banks. Put together by Africa Business, a pan-African business-focused magazine, this year’s ranking of North Africa’s biggest banks features seven Moroccan banks, the highest proportion for any country in the region. Much like other rankings, the list of Morocco’s top achieving banks comprises first Attijariwafa Bank, the country’s largest bank with total assets of $63.7 billion and a market capital of $6 billion. Attijariwafa Bank landed in second place in the North Africa region, following the National Bank of Egypt. Coming right on the heels of Attijariwafa Bank is Morocco’s Banque Central Po[CENSORED]ire (BCP) with a market capitalization of $4.7 billion and total assets set at $49.8 billion, the report explains. The third Moroccan bank on the list is Bank of Africa, formerly known as BMCE. A bank with a market capitalization of $3 billion and total assets of $37 billion. The list also features Societe Generale Marocaine de Banques, Credit Agricole du Maroc, BMCI Maroc, and Credit Immobilier et Hotelier (CIH), in the 8th, 12th, 14th, 18th, and 20th places respectively. Behind the Moroccan bank’s success is a successful decade-long expansion strategy in Africa. In the past 10 years, Moroccan banks have gobbled up a significant number of other banks in Africa, especially on the continent’s west. Collectively, Moroccan banks operate an estimated 26 subsidies in West Africa. Unlike Egyptian banks, Moroccan banks are building their success by boosting their presence abroad, rather than reaching the country’s unbanked and underbanked po[CENSORED]tion. Converging data from 2021 indicates that a staggering 71% of Morocco’s po[CENSORED]tion remains largely underbanked or unbanked. According to another recent study access to banking services in Morocco is extremely limited averaging 44% at best. https://www.moroccoworldnews.com/2022/10/351620/7-moroccan-banks-on-list-of-best-20-banks-in-north-africa

  15. Rabat - Danish start-up MoveNation has recently added Morocco’s red city, Marrakech, to its list of the best cities for relocation in the world. Elena Zala, who is a member of the MoveNation team, told Morocco World News: “This year, Marrakech has made [it to] our list together with cities such as Alicante, Bilbao, Bangkok and many other destinations around the world for the incredible resources they offer.” Zala indicated that the destinations are selected depending on several criteria, including quality of life, investment opportunities, safety, living cost, hospitality, and “level of English spoken.” MoveNation is a Denmark-based search engine for country relocation. It helps users of the service to find retirement destinations. According to MoveNation’s website, the search engine offers users “an instant financial overview of all the options that other nations have to offer,” in order to “help more people move from expensive cities to less expensive cities or towns.” Read also: Marrakech: Most Po[CENSORED]r Destination for French Tourists This Summer Launched in 2021, MoveNations aims to “help one million people move to a new country” by “reconfiguring the way societies are built,” Zala added. Marrakech is one of Morocco’s leading travel destinations. This summer, the red city has been the most po[CENSORED]r holiday destination among French tourists, according to travel search engine Liligo. In July, Marrakech was named the world’s tenth most romantic city, travel blog UCity Guides reported. The red city “offers 1001 nights of sensory pleasures to be shared with a special someone,” the blog said. Earlier this year, travel magazine Conde Nast Traveller featured the Moroccan city among the top 10 Friendliest Cities in the World. The magazine, which ranked Marrakech in third place, highlighted the iconic city’s mix of traditional beauty and touch of modernity. Several celebrities chose to spend their 2022 vacations in Marrakech, including Paris Saint Germain player Kylian Mbappe, Algerian football player Riyad Mahrez, Hollywood actor Liam Hemsworth, and American actress Lucy Hale. https://www.moroccoworldnews.com/2022/09/351261/marrakech-among-movenations-best-cities-for-relocation-worldwide
  16. Rabat - On Thursday in Casablanca, Morocco’s Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations (BCIJ) arrested a 29-year-old man with links to ISIS. He is suspected of planning terror attacks to undermine the country’s security. A statement from the BCIJ said that the arrest followed information from the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST) on the suspect. The arrest comes as part of the US-Morocco security cooperation. According to BCIJ, cooperation between DGST and US Intelligence services resulted in the identification of the suspect and detected his terrorist project. Preliminary information shows that the ISIS suspect was looking for ways to join terrorist organizations active in sub-Saharan Africa and in the Syrian-Iraqi conflict zones. Security services seized equipment and information devices, consisting of digital support, including mobile phones, and two laptop computers, among others. All of the seized material are being analyzed by experts, BCIJ said. The suspect is in custody for further investigations to determine the circumstances of the case. BCIJ recalled that today’s security operation confirms the “importance and effectiveness of proactive operations”. This cooperation helps to neutralize the danger of terrorist threats more effectively. The statement commended security cooperation between Morocco’s security services and the US. Morocco and the US put security cooperation as a priority. The two countries frequently expressed determination to boost cooperation in the field of security amid security threats in the region, including the Sahel. Earlier in September, the chief of Morocco’s General Directorate of National Security and Territorial Surveillance (DGST-DGSN), Abdellatif Hammouchi, met American Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines in Rabat to discuss security cooperation. The two security officials emphasized the need to improve the level of the current strategic cooperation between the two countries to bring stability and security on regional and international levels. The US sees Morocco’s counterterrorism approach as comprehensive. In 2021, Morocco’s DGST provided the US with essential data on an American soldier arrested for attempting to assist ISIS in attacking US troops. https://www.moroccoworldnews.com/2022/09/351573/moroccos-bcij-us-intelligence-services-arrest-isis-suspect-planning-terror-attacks

There's a dedicated page on the Elder Scrolls Online website to monitor community progress in this endeavor. 18. Google is changing the payment model for Colaboratory, its Python-writing code system. Informally known as Colab, the platform is designed for users to write and execute Python code from within your browser, and is marketed to all types of users including students, data scientists, and AI researchers. The company boasts that zero configuration is needed and that, most importantly, users are granted free access to GPUs. Google Colab PAYG In a release on the TensorFlow blog, Colab product lead Chris Perry says that Colab’s free-of-charge tier “stays in its current form.” The difference is that users will now have access to buy so-called “compute units”, which are set to cost $9.99 for 100 or $49.99 for 500 (offering no bulk-buy discount). As part of the rollout, paying customers will gain additional access to premium GPUs, which are “typically NVIDIA V100 or A100 Tensor Core.” In contrast, standard GPUs (available to both free and paying customers) are “typically NVIDIA T4 Tensor Core”. We say “typically”, because Google says the chip type assignment is not guaranteed. Availability and your paid balance are some factors that are considered in their allocation. One thing worth noting is that premium GPUs will deplete your “compute units” quicker than standard GPUs, so will be more costly as a result.
