[Software] PS5 Pro… and the blow that Microsoft is preparing with Xbox

Last week was the moment when Sony decided to make PS5 Pro a reality, announcing its release date and, above all, its price. An amount that many have considered too high and that has given reasons to those who have Xbox that it is better to stay with the machine they bought in 2020. Even so, is it possible that Microsoft is silent but not stopped and has plans to try surprise PlayStation?

It is known to everyone that in the last 20 years the life of Microsoft and Sony has gone quite hand in hand when it comes to video games. The two have fought for the throne of the console market (we put Nintendo aside) and have always copied their movements when necessary: Pro models in the previous generation, motion controls (PS Move and Kinect) with PS3 and Xbox 360 and even release dates, especially in the current and previous generations. So it is strange that the silence that Redmond seems to keep regarding the announcement of a Pro version of PS5.

What plans does Microsoft have with Xbox?
This being the case, it is more than evident that this silence that is heard thunderously on the part of Microsoft is not accidental. Phil Spencer's people are not going to say a word about PS5 Pro and possible Xbox plans to match that offer with more powerful hardware than Xbox Series X, simply because that is no longer their battle. The Americans are clear that right now they have lost the war so all they have to do is grit their teeth and finish the current cycle as best as possible. With the help of Xbox Game Pass.

That leads to the next idea and that is that Microsoft has already set the calendar for when it is going to launch its next generation, and for that it is going to take GTA VI hostage. Do you see a better time than the launch of Rockstar's sandbox to put the machine in stores that truly offers the definitive experience? Infinitely superior to what we can play on PS5 or Xbox Series X and much better than in the case of PS5 Pro.

Only then would it be understood that Microsoft is silent as a dead man and is letting Sony do its thing with hardly any opposition. Because that is, perhaps, what is smelling most like singeing in the heads of users who have an Xbox Series X at home. That there is no reaction from the other side. No answer.

When would the new generation of Xbox arrive?
Taking this hypothesis as good, which is already beginning to be heard in many internet forums, we would be talking about a launch of that new Xbox for the year 2026. A deadline that Sony would have set for 2027 or 2028 and we will see if it does not end. advancing Microsoft's plans. But it is evident that with the current sales panorama in the market, Phil Spencer's team have to make a splash or they will end up, not only losing the battle (which is already impossible for them) but putting an end to their career as first party with its own hardware.
