Mounir Nasraoui, 35, was rushed for emergency care after being attacked in his hometown of Mataro on Wednesday evening. According to reports in Spain, he was assaulted by a group of people he had met earlier in the day while walking his dog and suffered multiple stab wounds. Catalan police confirmed three people were arrested shortly after the incident while a fourth suspect was detained on Thursday morning. Nasraoui was admitted to an intensive care unit in serious condition but several hours after the shock stabbing was said to be stable. His superstar son Yamal, a Euro 2024 winner with Spain, was spotted leaving the hospital on Thursday, having reported for training with Barcelona that morning.
