[Gadgets] More problems for AI Pin: the charging case could catch fire

At the end of November last year, the Humane company surprised us by presenting AI Pin, a mobile phone without a screen. A revolutionary idea, but it is not working as expected. And now, it has fire risks if you use its charging case.

 

 

This AI Pin does not have a screen, but it does have a system to project on a table or in your hand, allowing it to be much smaller than a traditional smartphone. In addition, it is connected to ChatGPT (via subscription) so you can perform all kinds of tasks using voice commands. A very revolutionary product, but it does not offer the promised experience, so it is not selling as expected.

Be careful if you have an AI Pin: better not use the charging case
The problem is that AI Humane's performance has been very disappointing, with slow response times and a failure rate that makes you feel ridiculous having to ask for the same thing several times. And now there is a new headache for Humane, the company behind this project: the AI Pin charging case has a problem with a battery cell that causes it to cause fire risks.

 

 

Luckily, the AI Pin can be charged independently, and as reported by colleagues from The Verge, everything indicates that it is a failure in the external charger due to a problem in a battery cell.

In a statement sent to customers, Humane has indicated that it will no longer use this provider and that it will offer two free months of its subscription service to compensate users for a bad experience. Of course, they have not indicated if they will replace the charging cases.
