[Software] Microsoft will bore you into switching from Google to Bing, even if you use Chrome

Recommended Posts

These advertising pop-ups for the Microsoft search engine have been occurring over the last few days. We can say that users around the world are starting to see them and are encouraged to use Bing in their corresponding languages, all while using Google Chrome.

The pop-up windows we are talking about reach everyone through an automatic update. Additionally, it is worth mentioning that the entire experience is powered by two files: BCILauncher.EXE and BingChatInstaller.EXE. One of the curiosities of this new Microsoft advertising activity in Windows is that it encourages us to use its own search engine even in Google Chrome.

Other times in the past we have already seen similar movements, but through its own browser, Microsoft Edge. But now even if you use the competing program, it wants you to change the default search engine, which is none other than Google, to Bing. At the same time, in this pop-up window they also want to convince us by promoting free access to GPT-4, all to sell the search engine to users.

Of course, as it could not be otherwise, the company also highlights that it is possible to return to the previous search engine if you do not like Bing, simply and at any time. The moment we click affirmatively on that pop-up window, the ad directly redirects us to the Bing Search for Chrome extension so that we can install it in the Google browser.
