El Máster Edwin
The impending 600bhp behemoth gets a three-screen digital dash and plenty of swanky materials Following on from the initial reveal of its really slow, all-electric Wagoneer S SUV, Jeep has now released several interior shots and, gods be good, we’re impressed. The first thing you’ll notice is the digitalised dash, which has been divided into three subsections: the driver’s display shows, er, driving information, the mid-section acts as the infotainment hub, and the far passenger side corner seems to be a secondary entertainment screen. That won’t get at all annoying when your kids keep ordering stuff from Amazon. An ambience strip runs beneath and further segments the dash from the lower sections of the interior, where a fourth (crikey) screen can be seen between the strip and the centre console. This’ll be used to access the Wagoneer’s air con, and likely any other seating and temperature controls. The centre console itself has a funky cross-stitched design to it and is where you’ll find the gear selector and corresponding driving modes, including one for sand and snow. But not one specifically titled ‘that annoying stretch of the M25 where your tyres constantly feel like they’re about to burst’, unfortunately. Physical buttons are also non-existent - barring those found on the steering wheel - but Jeep seems to have done a good job of making the cabin still at least look intuitive. Other details include a 19-speaker audio system from McIntosh and a dual-pane panoramic roof as standard. We’ve also been treated to a few more exterior images, finally giving us a wider glance over the solitary front-facing shot. The sheer length of the big Jeep can now be seen, but it isn’t entirely surprising given that the Wagoneer S is built upon Stellantis’ BEV-dedicated large platform. It will also be interesting (and entertaining) to see this behemoth get from a claimed 0 to 62mph in 3.5s, courtesy of a 600bhp electric motor and four-wheel drive. Further details are expected in due course. What else you wanna know? Link
