Dean Ambrose™ Posted January 8, 2024 Posted January 8, 2024 After weeks and weeks of rumors and leaks, the new NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 SUPER graphics cards are finally official, with three new models arriving to complete the catalog of those in green. On this occasion, we can finally show you first-hand what the Founders Edition manufactured by NVIDIA of the RTX 4070 SUPER is like, the first of these graphics that will hit the market next January 16. Of course, what the manufacturer allows us to show you for now is only the unboxing, that is, what this new graphics card looks like on the outside with its heatsink manufactured by NVIDIA, but we cannot tell you about its performance data yet; That will come later, because as you can imagine the graph is already in our hands and we are already testing it. With that said, let's go there. This is the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER As in the previous Founders Edition models, the new GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER comes in a large rectangular box, on the outside of which we can only see the model, and through a simple label on the back we are informed of the requirements technicians necessary to be able to use it, the contents of the box and information on support and warranty. The box opens upwards, splitting in half, and gives us access to the graphics that are cloistered in the center and with aesthetic accents that make it appear to shine. This graphics card has the same aesthetic appearance as other Founders Editions that we have seen in the past, and in fact, as we will see a little later, it is identical to the RTX 4060 Ti except for the color. On the front we have one of the two 90 mm fans that cools the assembly, and the rest is made up of aluminum fins to dissipate heat arranged at different angles. In this graph, everything is black. Of course, on the edges we have some aesthetic details such as the name of the graphic, for example. The fan is 90 mm in diameter and is made up of 7 fairly wide and inclined blades, joined at the ends to reduce noise and turbulence and which generates a lot of static pressure so that fresh air reaches all corners of the heatsink. If we turn the graph around we have a completely different aesthetic; There is also a 90 mm fan that we will talk about shortly, but here instead of having exposed aluminum fins we have black plastic covers, and the name of the graphic on one of the sides. The truth is that you don't see much of it, and it's a bas-relief instead of a silkscreen, but you almost have to hold it up to the light to be able to see the name well. Here, on the edges instead of the name of the graphic we have the manufacturer's logo. The fan is also 90 mm and also has seven blades, but in this case they are a little thinner and are placed upside down, so that a push-pull configuration is created between the two fans. It is a cooling system with a very intelligent design and in the past we have already seen that it works like a charm. At the top of the graph we have the "GeForce RTX" logo, a part of the aluminum sheets and, among them, the 16-pin 12VHPWR connector that this graph requires to work (by the way, the accessories include a 2xPCIe 8-pin adapter to this connector in case your source does not have it natively). At the bottom there is nothing notable apart from the PCIe connector. Nothing notable from behind either; As you can see, it is a very robust and compact graph. Finally, on the back we have an air outlet and the four video connectors: three DisplayPort and one HDMI. This RTX 4070 SUPER measures just 24.4 centimeters long and also occupies just two PCIe sockets, so you will normally have no problems installing it even in mini ITX cases. Finally, here you can see this NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER right next to an RTX 4060 Ti so you can see that physically they are identical except for the color. Well, you've already seen it. Personally, we really like the Founders Edition heatsink that NVIDIA uses in its graphics cards because in addition to being very beautiful and robust, it is quite efficient and silent. In a few days we will be able to publish our review, where we will tell you how it works when push comes to shove.
