The problems with power cables for RTX 40 graphics that burn or melt the connector continue to be a problem that affects many users. The solution, according to Seasonic, to prevent the cable from deteriorating is to bend it slightly, leaving 35 mm of space between the connector and the bend, a process that we can do using a hair dryer.

Another option is to use the adapter that NVIDIA offers to avoid having to bend the cable, leaving the 35 mm space required to avoid problems. If we have a power supply from this manufacturer, we can also choose to use a new cable based on the most modern specifications that it has just presented in beta and that has a 90 degree angle, in order to avoid having to heat the cable excessively. correct and prevent any part of our PC from stopping working due to the graphics card and the power supply.

According to this manufacturer, Seasonic will send this new cable free of charge to all users who request it and who have an ATX 3.0/3.1 power supply with the 12VHPWR connector with the straight cable. This new cable is compatible with ATX 3.1 power supply specifications and has a 12V-2×6 connector.

The design of this cable is based on the latest power and connector specifications of NVIDIA's RTX 40 range, a connector also found on most of this graphics card manufacturer's partners. At the moment, this cable will only be available for 100 people who are included in the testing program and who own an ATX 3.0, Prime, Focus, and Vertex power supply. This initial program is limited to users of this manufacturer's power supplies residing in China.

This cable supports up to 600W output and is compatible with ATX 3.1 and PCIe CEM 5.1 specifications and has a mesh embossing. Once the trial period ends, all users who want to use this new cable at a 90-degree angle can request it from this manufacturer's website through a form that will be enabled when the process ends. However, taking into account that some RTX 40 models have the connector rotated, it is likely that this cable will not adapt to all graphics cards, so it is important to know this beforehand since the solution is to pass the cable around of the card.

The graphics card, especially the RTX 40 range, is the most modern and expensive that we can currently find on the market, so saving a few euros on a poor quality cable is only useful to load the power supply so much. and/or the graph. If we want to avoid any type of problems, it is advisable to use the cables and adapters offered by both NVIDIA and its partners and power supply manufacturers. This way, if we have any operating problems, we can use the warranty without any problem.
