LMicrosoft has provided a tool that helps solve the problem of ghost installations of the HP Smart application and the appearance of HP printer data on computers with Windows 10 and 11 where there are no linked computers from this technology firm.

 

   At the beginning of the month, some Windows users detected that the HP Smart application had been automatically installed on their computers , which configures and checks the status of this American manufacturer's printers.

 

 

   This application generally comes installed on HP computers and can be downloaded for free on other brands' computers through the Microsoft Store, iOS App Store, and Android Google Play.However, the installations of said 'app' were happening on computers that were not from HP nor did they have a printer of this brand installed. As detailed by Microsoft , the bug that caused it changed the printer names and icons to show information about the LaserJet M101-M106 model and installed said 'app' automatically.

 

   The cause of the failure has not been identified, but Microsoft has provided a tool to solve it, which restores the printer information and its icon and eliminates the HP Smart application if it detects that there are no hardware or drivers related to it installed on the computer.
