Dean Ambrose™ Posted December 16, 2023 Posted December 16, 2023 It was a matter of time before the NVIDIA GTX range graphics cards came to an end and for this manufacturer to focus solely on the RTX series. According to various Asian media, NVIDIA has announced to manufacturers that during the first quarter of 2024, production of the GTX 16 range of graphics will end. The only models that NVIDIA is currently manufacturing within the GTX range are the GTX 1650 and GTX 1630, low-end graphics cards that continue to have a lot of traction in the market and that we can buy for just over 160 euros. Starting in the first quarter of 2024, both models will stop being manufactured and will be added to the GTX 1660S model, the last model in this range to leave the production lines. In this way, NVIDIA leaves a gap in the price market for these graphics that, at the moment, is not expected to be covered by any other new model. As we said at the beginning of this article, it was a matter of time before NVIDIA will forget about the GTX 16 range based on the Turing architecture, like the RTX 20, in order to focus all its production on the most modern models. The GTX 1650 and 1630 models are the entry range for users who need a graphics card but do not want or cannot spend a lot of money, since both can be found on the market for less than 200 euros. While it is true that these models are not an option to enjoy next-generation titles, they are for po[CENSORED]r multiplayer titles such as Fortnite, Apex Legends, Call of Duty and others. Alternatives to the GTX 16 range Just because NVIDIA stops manufacturing the GTX 16 range does not mean that it stops receiving support in the form of updates, so if we still use this model, it is not necessary to run out and buy a higher model like the RTX 20 series, the next in line. the price scale. With the disappearance of the market for this range, NVIDIA abandons the graphics market for less than 200 euros. For desktop computers, the cheapest option is the RTX 2060 (the RTX 2050 model is only available for laptops). This model is available in versions with 6 and 12 GB of GDDR6 memory, with the most economical model being, obviously, the version with 6 GB. But, if we are already changing the graphics, we want it to last a few years, the next option is the RTX 3060 (as with the RTX 2050, the RTX 3050 is only available for laptops). This model is available with 8GB of GDDR6 memory and instead of using the Turing architecture available on the RTX 20 and GTX 16 range, the RTX 30 range uses the Ampere architecture. The RTX 40 range uses the Ada Lovelace architecture. Both the RTX 2060 and RTX 3050 offer support for ray tracing, one of the main shortcomings of NVIDIA's GTX range. Now that Christmas is approaching, it is not a good time of year to renew our graphics card, since prices increase to take advantage of the sales surge this time of year. It is advisable to wait until January if we want to renew our GTX range graphics for any of the superior RTX models from this same manufacturer. https://hardzone.es/noticias/tarjetas-graficas/nvidia-descataloga-grafica-gtx-2024/
