As we head closer to launch, more Intel Core Ultra "Meteor Lake" CPU leaks have started to occur and the latest one is for the flagship Core Ultra 9 185H chip.

Intel Core Ultra 9 185H "Meteor Lake" Flagship CPU Tested In Samsung Galaxy Book 4 Ultra Laptop

The Intel Meteor Lake CPU was spotted within the Samsung Galaxy Book 4 Ultra which is the high-end offering from the laptop manufacturer. This particular configuration comes with the Intel Core Ultra 9 185H which is supposed to be the flagship Meteor Lake CPU, offering up to 16 cores (6 P, 8 E, 2 LP-E cores), 24 threads, and up to 5.1 GHz clock speeds with 24 MB cache (L3). We previously reported that Intel would first focus on offering Core Ultra 7 & Core Ultra 5 SKUs for laptops before its partners can offer the higher-end Core Ultra 9 CPU

s.The Intel Core Ultra 9 185H "Meteor Lake" CPU is listed as a QS sample which is the C0 stepping. This seems to be very close to the retail model but we can still see some improvements in the final silicon. The CPU could be seen boosting up to 5.1 GHz which is its maximum clock speed.

No info is provided on other specs such as memory speeds, power limits, and thermal targets as these are leading factors to consider when evaluating performance against different laptops. The Samsung Galaxy Book 4 Ultra comprises of a standard dual-fan design with a copper aluminum baseplate that sits over the CPU and the dGPU.

In terms of performance, the Intel Core Ultra 9 185H "Meteor Lake" CPU scored 767 points in the single-core and 8096 points in the multi-core tests. These are lower numbers than the Raptor Lake Core i9-13900H which houses 14 cores and up to 5.4 GHz clock speeds. At the same time, the Intel Meteor Lake CPU does end up 14% faster in single-core and 5% faster in multi-core against AMD's Ryzen 9 7940HS CPU.

In previously leaked benchmarks, the battery timings on the Intel Meteor Lake CPUs were shown to be very disappointing but once again, all performance and battery figures mean nothing unless we know the full specifications and thermal/power limits of the laptops on which the Intel Meteor Lake CPUs were tested. With the launch just a few days away, we will know for sure how Intel's next-gen client CPU family performs in the laptop segment so stay tuned as more info drops on the 14th of December.
