The Qatari team retained the gold medal in the handball competition at the Asian Games held in Hangzhou, China, for the third time in a row, after defeating its Bahraini counterpart in the final match 32-25, in a final during which Al Annabi repeated its superiority over Al Ahmar, especially in the last edition.

With this medal, Qatar raised its tally to 14 medals, with 5 golds, 6 silvers, and 3 bronzes, while Bahrain added a new medal, strengthening its lead over the Arab countries with 17 medals, 10 golds, 2 silvers, and 5 bronzes.


The Bahraini national team was in control in the first half, which excelled in scoring through Mohammed Habib, and defense through the two brothers Ali and Mohammed Mirza, and behind them was the brilliant goalkeeper Mohammed Abdul Hussein, who saved more than 5 goals.

The Qatari team repeated the "scenario" of the confrontation with Kuwait in the semi-finals, when it entered the atmosphere late in the match and the first half ended with Bahrainis (14-12).

In the second half, the defending champion equalized the score in the sixth minute (17-17), after which Abdul Rahman Abdullah gave him the lead for the first time (18-17). Sobha increased his lead with a remarkable performance by Abdul Razzaq Murad, who raised the score to (27-21). ).

The Qatari team, led by its Spanish coach Valero Rivera, continued to dominate the remaining minutes to win the match easily (32-25).

Rafael Cabot scored 8 goals from 10 attempts for the winner, and Aladdin bin Rashid 5.


The Kuwaiti team won bronze with a difficult victory over Japan 31-30, which is the third bronze medal for Kuwait in the current edition, raising its total tally to 8 medals (2 gold, 3 silver, and 3 bronze).

Palestine wins the second medal in its history
Palestinian Hala Al-Qadi gave her country its second medal in the history of its participation in the Asian Games, by winning a bronze medal in the karate competition (kumite category) for the under-68 kg weight category, after defeating Joe Zhao from Chinese Taipei 6-3.

Palestine has been participating in the Asian Games since the 1990 edition, and its boxer, Munir Abu Kishk, previously won a bronze in boxing at the Busan Games in South Korea in 2002.

Hala prepared for these games by participating in the Arab Games, which were held in Algeria last July, and won the silver medal.
