Google has started including an option to send files via Nearby Share with available nearby devices, which appear directly from the 'Share' function shortcuts on Android 'smartphones'.Google's equivalent to Apple's AirDrop service, allows you to send and receive files and applications between nearby devices --mobile phones, Android tablets, and computers--, through Bluetooth connectivity , in such a way that it is not necessary to have a WiFi connection for it .

 

   In this sense, the technology giant continues to implement improvements to facilitate the experience of transmitting files between devices, such as the implementation of support for connecting to a Windows computer that it launched last May.Now, Nearby Share is starting to incorporate an option into the share shortcuts of Android smartphones , which shows the devices available to send files as shortcuts.

In other words, when sending a file, once the user presses the share icon, the nearby devices to which the file can be sent via Nearby Share will appear directly, as is already the case with WhatsApp contacts. or with nearby AirDrop devices, which appear as a shortcut.

 

   This has been learned by the analyst Mishaal Rahman , who has reported it through a publication on X (Twitter). "This would save him a touch, as he could select a device to send without opening the full Nearby Share menu," Rahman explained.

 

   Specifically, the available devices will appear in the Direct Share shortcuts , that is, at the top of the Share menu.
