The GodFather
Rabat - Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi is said to be seeking to leave Paris Saint Germain (PSG) where he reportedly feels uncomfortable. Sports news outlet Mundo Deportivo reported today that there are several factors pushing the Moroccan football star to look for a way out of PSG. One of the factor is “the environment and atmosphere that surrounds the French club,” the Spanish news outlet said, recalling the sexual assault allegations facing the Moroccan footballer. Mundo Deportivo also recalled Hakimi’s famous “This is France” comment, which the Moroccan right-back made after being sent off in the 77th minute following an altercation with French footballer and Ajaccio midfielder Thomas Mangani. The red card was Hakimi’s second in his last three games. “This is France,” a visibly irritated Hakimi fumed as he left the pitch. Hakimi still hopes to join his former club Real Madrid, Mundo Deportivo said, stressing that the player’s contract with PSG -- which runs until 2026 -- is the only obstacle standing in the way of his ambition to leave the French capital this summer. While the French sports news outlet L’Equipe reported earlier this month that PSG is not ready to let go of Hakimi, a report by a Spanish sports website insisted that the Parisian club may change its mind if Real Madrid makes a “significant offer. ”. The Spanish sports outlet AS also recently reported on Hakimi’s potential exit from PSG, saying that the Moroccan player’s performance level this year has “brought him much criticism from within the club.” © Morocco World News.
