Draeno Posted May 25, 2023 Posted May 25, 2023 New data has been leaked about Apple's upcoming flagship iPhone 15. This time, the leak reveals the smartphone's wireless charging capability. this is what we know According to ChargerLAB, a trusted charging source, future Apple iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models will be compatible with the new Qi2 wireless charging standard. It is based on Apple's MagSafe standard. And that means that Qi2 chargers (even third-party ones) will likely be able to charge smartphones at full power: 15W, just like MagSafe. By comparison, current models (iPhone 12, iPhone 13 and iPhone 14) charge at a maximum power of 15W only from MFM (Made for MagSafe) certified stations. However, if other chargers are connected to them, the charging speed will be limited to 7.5W. According to the source, Apple's MagSafe module retails for around $16, while the Qi2 module appears to cost less than a third of that. In other words, this will bring more affordable MagSafe chargers to the market.
