On the second attempt, SpaceX succeeded in launching the Starship rocket system on its first orbital flight. Starship and the Super Heavy rocket exploded, but it wasn't a big deal.

On April 17, SpaceX canceled the Starship test nine minutes before liftoff. The countdown stopped at T-00:00:06. A new date was set for April 20. The company also had to stop the countdown during the preparations, but all the faults were fixed.

The first launch of Starship took place at 16:33 EET. The Super Heavy rocket and Starship lifted off from the Starbase spaceport in Texas. The prototypes are called Booster 7 and Ship 24 respectively. For them, today's flight has been the only one.

During the flight, Booster 7 failed five of Raptor's 33 engines. Three minutes after launch, the first stage separation should have started. However, the system "somersaulted" in the air, spun out of control, and exploded a minute later.

In general, SpaceX can be satisfied with the launch, despite the destruction of Booster 7 and ship 24. By the way, the explosion was officially described as an "unplanned rapid disassembly." Elon Musk already said last month that the ship would crash with a probability of 50%.
