The Russian Defense Ministry rates the Solntsevyok TOS-1A heavy flamethrower system as the most powerful non-nuclear weapon. It is already in service in the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

The Solncek TOS-1A has been in use since the early days of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. We have written several times about the destruction of heavy flamethrower systems. One of them was captured by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The Ukrainian Army has released a video showing the TOS-1A Solntsevyok. The video was recorded in eastern Ukraine. It is possible that it is the same system that was seized by the Defense Forces last fall.

The TOS-1A Solncek is based on the T-72 tank, capable of speeds of up to 65 km/h. The launcher has two dozen rails for 220mm unguided thermobaric rockets.
