Framework, known for its highly repairable devices, has introduced the Framework Laptop 16 modular laptop.

It is a high-performance model for gamers that offers you the possibility to modify your laptop according to your needs. Component manufacturers can create modules of different sizes to connect to the laptop. For example, it is possible to connect additional storage capacity and a modular GPU.

To do this, the Framework Laptop has six slots for I/O expansion cards. In addition, the input module system allows for hot swapping of the keyboard and touchpad. For example, you can move the standard keyboard slightly and add a number pad, as well as move the touchpad to the left or right.

The Framework traditionally publishes component source code and documentation for enthusiasts.

Unfortunately, no further details are yet available. It's also unclear how much the Framework Laptop 16 will cost. The laptop will go on sale in late 2023, with pre-orders starting in the spring.

In addition, the company has updated its Framework Laptop 13. The main new features include the possibility to choose between Intel Core 13th Gen or AMD Ryzen 7040 processors, a battery increased to 61Wh, a matte screen, improved hinges and speakers. This model is priced from $850 (self-assembly kit) and $1,050 (assembled).
