Ming-Chi Kuo: el iPhone 15 pasará a USB-C con carga más rápida, pero solo funcionará con cables certificados

The European Commission has recently recognized the USB-C port as the uniform standard that smartphones and other gadgets sold in Europe must have. Most Android device manufacturers already use this port, so the new rules apply more to Apple. So this year the company will have to relent and move its iPhone 15 range from Lightning to USB-C. But Apple wouldn't be Apple if it didn't put a but.

Details
Renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has claimed that the USB-C port will provide faster charging speeds for the iPhone 15, but only with certified cables. That is, even with the proper power adapter and cable from other devices, you will not be able to take full advantage of the functions of the iPhone.

Other insiders also confirm this information and ensure that Apple will offer MFi (Made for iPhone) certification for USB-C accessories. However, cables without MFi certification will have limited charging speeds.

Currently, the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 support a maximum charging speed of 20W, while the Pro models support up to 27W. The iPhone 15 may get 30W fast charging - Apple has a matching charging adapter in its range, priced at $39.

Also, another report from Kuo said that while the entire iPhone 15 range will get a USB-C port, only the Pro models will support USB 3.2 for faster transfer speeds. Regular iPhone 15 models will still work with the slower USB 2.0.
