Northrop Grumman podría recibir 9.000 millones de dólares para desarrollar el bombardero nuclear B-21 Raider, el caza de sexta generación NGAD y el ICBM Sentinel

We continue to offer you information that Bloomberg has echoed after reading internal documents from the United States Department of Defense. Northrop Grumman, like Lockheed Martin, could also receive a large sum, but under a different program.

this is what we know
The Pentagon will request 145,000 million dollars for the development of new technologies, in addition to the 170,000 million that will be allocated to the purchase of weapons in fiscal year 2024. Northrop Grumman will be the largest beneficiary of the funds. In the event of a positive result, the American manufacturer will receive 9,000 million dollars to develop three key projects.

Most of it will go to the development of the LGM-35A Sentinel intercontinental ballistic missile: 3.7 billion dollars. The cost of the entire program will be approximately $100 billion. Northrop Grumman has recently performed engine tests for Sentinel. Flight tests of the propulsion system are now underway. The Sentinel will replace the Minuteman III and will be in service until 2075.
The second program is the development of the new generation B-21 Raider nuclear bomber. It was presented in December 2022 and will make its maiden flight later this year. In total, the US Air Force wants to have 100 sixth-generation aircraft, as they are called, in service. The Service recently released new images of the Raider, which revealed an interesting feature of the strategic bomber. The company could get another $3 billion for development of the plane in fiscal year 2024.
