UAE-Based Time Hotels Enters Moroccan Market with New Eco-Resort in Ifrane

Rabat - UAE based Time Hotels has signed an agreement to manage an equestrian eco-resort Atlas Crown Collection located in Ifrane’s national park in the Atlas mountains.

The resort includes 17 luxurious cedar lodges, 18 hotel suites, and a conference center in addition to heated indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a wellness spa, a hammam, restaurants, horse stables, and a kids’ club. Customers interested in golf would have access to the 18-hole Michlifen Golf & Country Club.

The Atlas Crown Collection is set to undergo “a major extension which is expected to be completed by the end of 2023,” according to a press release.

CEO of Time Hotels Mohamed Awadalla said that “the resort will be an ideal all-year-round getaway for families and couples to unwind and relax in a beautiful natural environment,” adding that it is located one hour-drive from Fez’s airport which is regularly connected to Casablanca and Rabat.

The signing ceremony took place this week at the African Hospitality Investment Forum (AHIF) in Taghazout Bay near Agadir.

On November 2-4, leaders and investors in the hospitality sector from all around the world gathered at Fairmont resort in Taghazout Bay to review Morocco’s investment opportunities in the hospitality and tourism sectors with a focus on the southern provinces.

The AHIF event, co-sponsored by the Moroccan Society of Tourism Engineering (SMIT), provided a space to discuss a variety of topics ranging from offered investment incentives in the tourism sector to the global shift towards sustainable hospitality and eco-tourism.

In this context, Marriott International announced earlier this week that it plans to open two hotels in Morocco by the end of 2024 including the Ritz-Carlton in Rabat Dar Es Salam and the St. Regis La Bahia Blanca Resort in Tamuda.

The group also shared that it is working on building more than 30 hotels in Africa in the next two years, highlighting Marriott’s interest in maintaining its leading position in the African hospitality sector.
