Rabat - Three Moroccan fine dining restaurants have ranked among the top 10 in Africa, according to TripAdvisor, the largest travel review platform in the world. 

In their Traveler’s Choice Award of 2022, the platform placed Fez’s L'Amandier Palais Faraj as the third-best restaurant on the continent. Customers left positive reviews on the establishment, highlighting its “delicious food” and “amazing view,” as well as the high-quality service offered. 

 

 

Casa Lalla Restaurant in Morocco’s red city Marrakech followed in fourth place, with clients enjoying the service as well as describing the place as “absolutely perfect” and “amazing,” due to its traditional Moroccan architecture.

 

 

Meanwhile, L’O A La Bouche Restaurant in Marrakech ranked as the fifth-best dining spot in Africa. Visitors praised the authenticity of the restaurant’s French cuisine, calling it “Paris right here in Marrakech,” with another describing it as the city’s best.

 

 

One of the key components to Morocco's image as a prime holiday destination is its authentic and exquisite gastronomy, which has long been one of the main attractions for tourists from across the world.

Due to the country’s rich history, Moroccan cuisine merges various influences, from Amazigh and Arab to traces of European and sub-Saharan flavors.

With its extensive use of spices and different local produce, Morocco’s gastronomy has built an international reputation, with dishes like Couscous and Tagine being globally recognized.

La Colombe Restaurant in the South African city of Constantia led the ranking as the best establishment in Africa, whereas Inti Restaurant serving Peruvian cuisine in Grand Gaube, Mauritius followed in second place.

Hasu Restaurant in Belle Mare, Mauritius came seventh, followed by South African restaurants Reverie Social Table and La Petite Colombe and Tanzania’s Island Pongwe Lodge Restaurant.
