Hari showed resilience throughout the three rounds of the fight but was unable to defeat the Dutch kickboxer. Despite receiving strong punches, the Moroccan champion refused to give up. Today's fight , in Arnhem, the Netherlands, was a game-changer for Alistair Overeem and Badr Hari as they confronted each other for the first time in nearly 13 years. The two fighters had previously faced off in 2008 and 2009 when the scores were tied at 1-1. On Friday, the heavyweight kickboxer announced his long-anticipated fight on Instagram and shared images with the caption, “All the necessary has been done to calmly wait for tomorrow's battle.’’ Badr addressed his fans through his social media, commenting on their support throughout his career. “One more day, thanks to the Badr Army for its unconditional support. Few words, a lot of sweat and pain to give you what you expect, a merciless war,’’ he wrote. Hari expressed great confidence in his victory, saying, “If he [Alistair Overeem] gets through the first match with Teixeira, I promise he won't last three minutes in the kickboxing ring with me this time.’’ Badr Hari’s Glory record stood at four defeats after his 2020 defeat to Romanian opponent Benjamin Adegbuyi. Then, Hari was defeated twice by Glory champion Dutchmen Rico Verhoeven, known as the ‘’King of Kickboxing,’’ in 2016 and 2019. In September 2021, the heavyweight kickboxer was defeated by Arkadisuz Wrzosek in the Glory 78 fight. The Polish athlete knocked out Hari in the second round.
