Draeno Posted July 3, 2022 Posted July 3, 2022 Samsung will release cheaper foldable smartphones, and it's a great idea Currently, Samsung is the reference manufacturer in the folding screen smartphone market. Their models of the Galaxy Z gala are the best there is, since the quality of the Flip and Fold is excellent. But, at the moment, the prices it has are prohibitive for many users, and this is something that it has in mind to change. Amounts greater than 1,000 euros in most cases is something that many do not want to assume -although the idea of having a mobile with a folding screen catches their attention-. Well, the idea that the Korean firm has in mind is to resort to the Galaxy A range, which is one of the most striking that it has for traditional terminals. Thus, it would give an important effect because it would launch cheaper devices that can be folded without problems. A great idea from Samsung The truth is that, if this is achieved, we are talking about a new vision of folding phones and added pressure for its rivals, such as Xiaomi or Motorola (Apple, for the moment, has not shown any signs of life in this segment ). In addition, resorting to an already known sub-brand -and that has complete models and at attractive prices-, is an excellent option, since users will automatically recognize the terminals. In this way, if a Samsung Galaxy A Fold is put up for sale, there would be no doubt on the part of anyone that the phone will be cheap … but that it is not without quality. And how would this be achieved? Well, apart from lowering the power of essential components, such as the processor and RAM (it would leave the high range to be part of the average, so it would still have a good user experience, but not as premium). In addition, the finishes would not be the same and the folding screen -which is logically similar to that of the Galaxy Z Flip- would not have layers such as Ultra-Thin Glass to lower the cost. All logical and perfectly understandable. What could be the price of this folding? Well, according to the source of the information, the first folding Samsung Galaxy A, which could see the light at the end of 2023, would cost one million won. It seems a lot, but in exchange we are talking about 770 euros. This is a high figure, no doubt, but much more attractive to many buyers - there are not a few who spend similar amounts on devices that do not have this type of screen. The truth is that the idea is a good one, since smartphones with panels that can be folded are a reality that is here to stay. 1
