Twitter has confirmed that it is working on a new feature that will allow users to edit a tweet after it has been posted. The company will be testing the feature only for Twitter Blue users at first. Netizens first took the company’s announcement as a joke as it was shared on April Fools day. However, the company later elaborated its plans about the feature. Although Twitter has not revealed how the upcoming edit tool will appear or function, known reverse engineer Alessandro Paluzzi has shared a glimpse of what users can expect.

According to screenshots shared by Paluzzi, you will be able to see a new ‘Edit Tweet’ option in the three-dot menu. The option will appear right below the View Tweet analytics option. Clicking on the new option will open up a new window, similar to the one you see while sharing a tweet. From the window, you will be able to edit the shared tweet and clicking on the ‘Update’ button will save the changes.

Another GIF shared by developer Nima Owji reveals that although the edit feature will allow you to make all the necessary changes in a tweet, it won’t allow you to change the audience. It is not yet known whether the company will have any limit over the edits you can make. It is also unclear how many times you can use the upcoming feature.
