The physical vaccination card against COVID-19 that they provide in the same vaccination centers has the same value as the digital card at the time of being presented to enter closed spaces. This was pointed out by Alexis Holguín, general director of Strategic Interventions in public health of the Ministry of Health (Minsa).

The Government published Supreme Decree No. 179-2021-PCM that establishes the obligation to present the vaccination card to all those over 18 years of age who wish to enter closed spaces.

“We must bear in mind that you can present the physical vaccination card that they gave me on the day of the immunization or also the digital card that can be downloaded from the web. Either of them is valid, ”he said.

Holguín recalled that weeks prior to the entry into force of the decree information campaigns were being carried out for citizens, so that they can manage their vaccination card in advance.

EFFECTIVE UNTIL JANUARY 2

Supreme Decree No. 179-2021-PCM, published in the Extraordinary Edition of the Legal Norms of El Peruano, indicates that the measure must be complied with by people over 18 years of age who wish to enter the premises where economic and worship activities are carried out .

This reminds that those attending these closed spaces must wear a mask permanently. In the case of restaurants or similar, they can only remove it when eating food.

The Supreme Decree will be in force until January 2 and also details that there are 10 provinces of the country at a "high alert" level against COVID-19.

MUST BE TWO DOSES

 

"If I have a person whose second dose was due two or three weeks ago, he will not be able to enter, as has been announced," explained Alexis Holguín.

People who have not completed their vaccination schedule should go to any of the different vaccination points implemented by the Minsa. Only after being fully vaccinated will they be able to enter closed spaces, such as shopping centers, banks, cinemas, among others, which have a defined capacity.

"They will have to wait one more day or they will have to be immunized before going to their work center, store, bank or commercial center or area where they go," the official reiterated.
