2021 acura tlx type s front exterior

The 2022 Acura TLX doesn't have the premium pedigree enjoyed by sport sedans from Audi, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz. Where the Acura does have an edge is its exciting driving persona combined with its strong value proposition. Aside from the undisputed champ of luxury-class value — the Genesis G70 — the TLX undercuts its German competition where American greenbacks are involved. Speaking of involved, that's how drivers feel behind the wheel where its sophisticated chassis tuning is revealed. Even those TLX models with the standard 272-hp turbo-four have the skills to impress. Add Acura's torque-vectoring all-wheel-drive system (SH-AWD) into the mix for maximum effect. While the 2022 TLX isn't quite as luxurious or magical to drive as the segment's best, and its back seat is smaller than its size suggests, the 355-hp Type S proves that Acura still makes cars that can raise your pulse.

What's New for 2022?
One year after Acura introduced a new generation of the TLX, the automaker doesn't make any significant changes to the 2022 lineup. However, fans of the brand's Integra nameplate will be pleased to learn that it's being revived for the 2023 model year.

The 355-hp Type S occupies the top spot in the TLX lineup in both performance and price. While it's the former trait that makes it our favorite, its price only adds to its attractiveness, especially compared with the Audi S4 and BMW M340i. The all-wheel-drive Bimmer is nearly $ 4000 more expensive, and the S4 starts about $ 1000 the Type S, but its bottom line balloons to over $ 56k when fully equipped. The Type S is less expensive and comes standard with luxuries such as adaptive dampers, leather upholstery, and an ELS premium audio system. We'd also opt for the $ 800 Performance package that brings unique 20-inch wheels on summer tires for maximum cornering grip and stopping power.
