FIFA, the highest body in world football, revealed the date on which the 2021 Club World Cup will be played. The tournament will be held in the United Arab Emirates and will have a total period of 9 days, starting on February 3 of next year. and culminating in the final on the 12th.

Meridiano reported that the lineup of the seven teams was completed on Saturday when Palmeiras won the Copa Libertadores. Champions League winner Chelsea and Palmeiras enter the semi-final stage directly; then they go on to play the final or a match for third place.

Premier League leaders Chelsea should play Brighton on February 8 and host Arsenal on February 12; Those games will now need to be rescheduled.

The tournament also includes African champion Al Ahly, Asian champion Al Hilal, CONCACAF Champions League champion Monterrey, Oceania champion Auckland City and host nation national champion Al Jazira.

The COVID-19 pandemic was twice revised the plans for the Club World Cup 2021. It was originally to be the inaugural extended edition in China in June and July. That release was shelved by FIFA when the 2020 editions of the Eurocup and America's Cup were delayed for a year.

In December, Japan would host a traditional seven-team Club World Cup, which was also scrapped three months ago, citing possible travel restrictions due to the pandemic.
