On December 17, 2021, the deadline for the delivery of the signatures of the candidates for the Presidency who chose this mechanism to try to reach the House of Nariño in 2022 and there are already several questions about the accounts that have been presented to the Council National Electoral.

BLU Radio reviewed the income and expenditure data of the promoter committees and found that, for example, the former mayor of Bucaramanga Rodolfo Hernández, of the Anti-Corruption League of Governors movement, has spent the most money in those months. Specifically, Hernández reported a sum close to 1,328 million pesos in income and more than 1,315 million pesos in expenses.

In that case, all the money for the signature collection campaign comes, as reported, from own resources.

Alejandro Gaviria, a candidate for the significant group of citizens, Colombia Has a Future, is the second candidate who has spent the most money with 703 million pesos. What is striking in this case is that this amount is well above the income registered in the Clear Accounts application ($ 484,600,000): the difference is 219,181,905 million pesos.

Most of the income in this campaign comes from donations, specifically 33. The largest is 45 million pesos and practically all are from lawyers.

In third place is ‘Vamos Pa’ Lante con Echeverry ’, from former Finance Minister Juan Carlos Echeverry, who has invested 373 million pesos in the process of seeking citizen support, while he has received 423 million.

 

Almost all of the Echeverry committee's income comes from donations made by the Fundación Transformación Colombia, the highest of 220,000,000 million pesos.

‘We believe Colombia’, from the former mayor of Medellín Federico Gutiérrez, has received 367,729,912 million pesos and spent 283,513,176 million pesos. The largest donation in this campaign has been made by Los Grigory SAS, for $ 100 million.

Later, ‘The Peace Force’, by Senator Roy Barreras, appears. This significant group has reported 137,654,239 million pesos in expenses and 204,000,000 million in income. As in the case of Rodolfo Hernández, all the money invested comes from own resources.

Finally, there is the ‘Colombia Posible’ committee, which promotes the aspiration of former Bogotá mayor Enrique Peñalosa. The income report is 564,000,000 million pesos, of which it has spent 82,524,095 million pesos. The total has been received through donations, especially from companies in the construction sector.
