Matteo Berrettini, number 7 in the world ranking and best Italian player, will be out due to injury for the Davis Cup, which will start next week in Madrid, Innsbruck and Turin, the Italian Tennis Federation (FIT) reported this Friday.

Berrettini had to resign from the tournament due to an abdominal problem that also prevented him from competing in the ATP Finals, which are organized this week at the Pala Alpitour in Turin.

The Roman player, a finalist at Wimbledon this year, will be replaced by Simone Bolelli, by decision of captain Filippo Volandri. The Italian team will consist of Jannik Sinner, Fabio Fognini, Lorenzo Sonego and Simone Bolelli. EFE.
