The first units of the new BMW i4 are already rolling off the assembly lines at the central factory in Munich, on schedule. The Bavarians' first fully electric saloon goes into production in all its versions, with the number of units estimated before the end of the year.

The Munich brand already has its first fully electric saloon on sale in the main European countries. The BMW i4 has a perfectly defined range, including a high-performance option that bears the hallmark of the sports division, a true rival to the Tesla Model 3, the first units will be on the roads before the end of the year.

To meet these deadlines, the new member of the electric car sub-brand has already entered production, at the central factory in Munich. The same where other models of the same category are also manufactured; for example, the Series 4 Gran Coupé - its equivalent in combustion - and the Series 3 Berlina and Touring, among others.

The range of the new BMW i4 has two versions
Given the importance of this model, this time BMW will not delay the launch of the most exclusive and top-of-the-line variant, the i4 M50, but is also exiting the production chain at the same time as the single-engine units. The i4 features the same front and rear styling as the new generation 4 Series, although the vertical grille features a fully enclosed panel.

However, what distinguishes them from combustion models lies in the interior, as this electric has a large screen occupying the dashboard. A single high-resolution and tactile piece in the area of the center console, inherited from the iX, the electric SUV, transforming the interior atmosphere of the saloon.

The range consists of only two versions, the i4 eDrive40 and i4 M50. The first only has an electric motor on the rear axle that yields a maximum power of 250 kW - equivalent to 340 hp - while the second adds a second motor to the front axle, has xDrive electric all-wheel drive and offers such superb performance. that beats the very M3 and M4 Competition with 400 kW, 544 hp. Both share the same lithium-ion battery, with a net capacity of 80.7 kWh, with a maximum range of 590 and 510 kilometers, respectively.
