#Hassan. Posted September 29, 2021 Posted September 29, 2021 (edited) Replacing the NV250, the new Nissan Townstar is full of innovations, and surprisingly dispenses with diesel engines. There's a lot going on in the professional vehicle world right now. After the recent revelation of the new Renault Kangoo , it was Mercedes' turn to lift the veil on the all new generation of its Citan , in its van and MPV version. The fruit of an alliance forged between the two manufacturers, in order to achieve savings in research and development, these two models are preparing to welcome a little brother, just unveiled a few days ago. This is the new Nissan Townstar, which then directly replaces the NV 250, which is therefore retiring after only two years on the market. Full of ambition, this newcomer to the range should, we hope, meet with a little more success than its predecessor, which then only sold to only 2,282 units in 2020. If the two have hardly anything to do with, however, they have one thing in common: that of resting on the platform of the Renault Kangoo. And it shows, since unlike the Mercedes Citan , which benefits from a completely new design, this level Nissan Townstar takes almost line for line the lines of its technical cousin. In reality, only the optics, the grille and the shield are different, the rest being strictly identical. Here again, this is a way of making significant savings for the Japanese brand. For its part, the electric version has a very slightly different face, inspired by the new Nissan Ariya unveiled a few months earlier. Nothing to be disoriented therefore, and this is confirmed inside, since the dashboard is fully taken from the Renault Kangoo. If the total dimensions have not been specified by the Japanese brand, it nevertheless announces a loading capacity of 3.9 m3, as well as a payload of up to 800 kilos. The utility also promises to be very complete in terms of technological equipment, including the blind spot warning system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well as adaptive cruise control, among others. No diesel in the catalogRather surprisingly, this new Nissan Townstar skips diesel. A rather disconcerting feature and a great first in the segment, while customers will therefore only have the choice between gasoline and electric. It will therefore be possible to opt for the 1.3-liter unit with 130 horsepower and 240 Nm of torque, which also equips the new Renault Kangoo. Professionals mainly making deliveries in the city will be able to set their sights on the zero-emission version, then developing 122 horsepower for 245 Nm of torque. Its 44 kWh battery then allows it to travel approximately 285 kilometers according to the WLTP cycle. For the time being, Nissan has not yet given details on the prices of its new Townstar, which should be around € 20,000 in its entry-level version. Produced on the same assembly lines as the Renault Kangoo, at the Maubeuge plant, the Japanese utility will begin deliveries at the beginning of next year, while orders will open on November 1. link : https://www.auto-moto.com/nouveautes/nouveautes-auto-2020-2021/nissan-townstar-toutes-infos-photos-officielles-289641.html#item=1 Edited September 29, 2021 by #Hassan.
