A newly-emerged software startup has developed a proprietary case management platform built for patient services.

It's called P3 Technology and it was founded by industry veteran Heather Rose in 2019. She has two decades of patient services experience, leading operations for one of the largest providers in the industry, according to a news release.

Rose has been consulting with multiple pharmaceutical companies over the past two years, and identifying several opportunities to better serve them and the patients they helped. She found the current customer relationship management (CRM) options in the market do not support the business and its processes, are difficult to use with rigid workflows, fail to automate tedious tasks and generate high on-going third party costs.

“P3 was born out of a passion to empower our customers,” Rose said in the release. “When working in a system 40 hours a week, it’s really important that it’s not frustrating to use.

"We believe people should enjoy using software and now through P3, they have an option that is intuitive, customizable and easy-to-use. Our customers are empowered to establish the process and business rules unique to their products and patients, and not be forced to modify them to fit within the technology they’re using.”

Rose partnered with David Galownia, CEO of Louisville-based Slingshot, and he became P3 Technology’s chief technology officer.

Galownia told me he and Rose had worked together nearly a decade ago at her former employer RxCrossroads (now CoverMyMeds after an acquisition by McKesson four years ago). Slingshot, then igNew, was involved in helping Heather's team with various tech projects including physician and patient web portals and modifications to its internal case management system.

The two stayed connected over the years and Galownia decided to join the new software startup after hearing about Rose's idea.

“I was just as excited as Heather when she first came to me about this idea,” Galownia said. “I joined her team as the CTO because I wanted to help bring the tech to life. The system fills a huge hole in the industry and represents a huge step up in terms of usability and affordability compared to what is currently out there. P3's platform, built by Slingshot's team, is designed to drive down service times, increase reliability, improve ease-of-use and reduce technology costs. The system is fully developed and ready for demos.

Galownia added he and Rose have bootstrapped funding for the P3 Technology so far, having chose not to seek investors to avoid outside influence.

"We are taking a methodical approach, growing at a controlled pace, to ensure we nail the product and exceed customer expectations," he said. "We intend to reinvest revenue for the first few years to continue to enhance and evolve the product.
