Samsung Galaxy S10

Samsung Galaxy S10 is a line of Android-based smartphones manufactured, launched and marketed by Samsung Electronics as part of the Samsung Galaxy S series. The Galaxy S10 series is a celebratory series of 10 years since the Samsung Galaxy S pilot line, its line of top phones alongside Note models. Presented at the "Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2019" press event held on February 20, 2019, the devices began to be delivered in certain regions, such as Australia and the United States, on March 6, 2019, and then worldwide on March 8, 2019. [8] It is the tenth generation of Samsung Galaxy S smartphones.

As was the case with the Galaxy S6, Samsung has unveiled the flagship Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10 + models, mainly differentiated by the screen size and an additional front camera on the S10 +. In addition, Samsung has unveiled a smaller model known as the Galaxy S10e, as well as a larger, 5G-compatible version, the Galaxy S10 5G. In 2020, a midrange variant was introduced, the Galaxy S10 Lite.

The launch prices of the Galaxy S10e, S10 and S10 + started at 749 USD / 586 GBP, 899 USD / 704 GBP and 999 USD / 782 GBP [9], while the launch price of the S10 5G was 1299 USD. [10]

On March 6, 2020, Samsung launched the successor to the S10, the Samsung Galaxy S20. [Citation required]
 

 

Specifications

Hardware

The S10 line includes five models with various hardware specifications; the main S10 and S10 + have 6.1 and 6.4-inch 1440p "Dynamic AMOLED" displays with HDR10 + support and "dynamic tone mapping" technology, respectively. [11] The displays have curved sides that tilt over the horizontal edges of the device. Unlike previous Samsung phones, their front-facing cameras occupy a rounded cut near the top right of the display, and both models use an ultrasonic fingerprint reader. [8] While they perform better than on-screen optical fingerprint readers introduced by other recent phones, they are not compatible with all screen protectors. Due to this, the S10 and S10 + are both supplied with a pre-installed plastic screen protector.

The S10 range comes with Android 9.0 "Pie". These are the first Samsung smartphones to ship with a major renewal of Samsung's Android user experience, known as the One UI. [23] A key design element of One UI is the intentional repositioning of key user interface elements in stock applications to improve the use of large screens. Many applications include large headers that push the beginning of the content toward the center of the display, while navigation commands and other prompts are often displayed at the bottom of the screen. Samsung released the Android 10 update for the Galaxy S10 series on November 28, 2019. The update includes One UI version 2.0. [26]

On August 18, 2020, Samsung announced that all variants of the S10 series will be accepted for three generations of Android software updates. [27]

An official list released by Samsung on December 2, 2020, further confirmed that all S10 models will receive the Android 11 update with One UI 3. [28]
