Raising taxes on people who earn more than $ 25,000 a year is the proposal mentioned to President Guillermo Lasso during an interview at Bloomberg headquarters in New York.

 

This means that the tax would go to those who received a little more than $ 2,000 per month.

 

This approach would be part of the package of reforms that he would send next Friday, and that even Lasso assured that he will do it personally in the Assembly.

 

The president believes that with the revision of tax rates, labor regulations, and other factors, he could lower his approval rating of more than 70%.

"Those of us who have more will have to pay more," said Lasso, 65, a day after giving his first speech at the United Nations General Assembly.

In addition, he promised to seek market solutions for the country's financial problems and said that he will maintain commitments with bondholders and the International Monetary Fund.

In August of last year there were 3,436,035 affiliates, and in twelve months they became 3'631,057, according to the institution.
