Dark Posted July 28, 2021 Posted July 28, 2021 Google has introduced the data restoration tool in the Play Store as an independent application, which will allow transferring WhatsApp history from an iPhone to an Android phone. The data restoration tool is installed by default on phones with Android operating system, and appears when the user configures a new device, in case they want to transfer files, photos or videos from an old one. The tool has now been available for a few days as a standalone application on the Play Store. With it, a user can transfer data between devices via cable or a cloud storage service. However, it will soon expand its functions with the transfer of WhatsApp history. The 9to5Google portal has found in the code of the latest version of this tool (v1.0.382048734) references to a function to copy WhatsApp conversations and history from an iPhone device to another Android device. The transfer requires scanning a QR code with an iPhone phone to open the 'app' and start the process, although it can also be done manually. As indicated in the aforementioned portal, this function will work together with the transfer system prepared by WhatsApp itself.
