[Auto] Jeep brand featured prominently in this year's Off Road Magazine Awards

Readers of the off-road trade publication have voted for their favorite 4x4s and SUVs for 2021, from a selection of 251 models competing in 13 categories. Five Jeep models have won seven accolades at the awards.

 

The Jeep Renegade has been named best "compact SUV" in the coveted category D for the seventh year in a row. The Renegade has been the first choice of readers of Off Road magazine, garnering 12.7 percent of the vote. This has been a particularly impressive achievement, as the Renegade was the first Jeep model to enter the highly competitive compact SUV segment and has won in this category since its introduction to the market seven years ago. Its distinctive Jeep design, as well as the capability of its 4xe plug-in hybrid system, have been particularly well received by readers of Off Road magazine.

The Jeep Compass has ranked third in the same category with 9.5 percent of the vote, making the Jeep brand a clear favorite in the best-selling compact class according to expert Off Road readers.

 

The Jeep Wrangler 4xe has won in the category "Alternative Powertrains", a particularly important recognition that shows that Off Road readers are looking forward to the electric future of mobility. The new Wrangler model with plug-in hybrid technology garnered 12.5 percent of readers' votes, well ahead of the second-place model. The iconic Jeep Wrangler also took second place in category A "SUVs", with 27.6 percent of the vote.

 

In contrast, the current Jeep Grand Cherokee has been named Best Imported Luxury SUV and placed second overall in "Luxury SUVs" (category B). Furthermore, long before its debut on the European market, the new Grand Cherokee, the successor to the current model, has also garnered extraordinary recognition this year, with Off Road readers ranking it second in the category « New entries".

 

The recently launched Jeep Gladiator took second place in the C "Pick-up" category, just 0.5 percent behind the winner.

 

The Off Road Awards were created in 1982, giving enthusiastic readers of the 4x4 magazine the opportunity to vote for their favorite models. More than 39,211 readers have participated in the 2021 edition of the Off Road surveys (the results will appear in the print version of Off Road magazine, issue 9/21, on newsstands from August 10, 2021).
