Three journalists from Rai Sport were found with COVID-19 on Friday, and "panic quickly set in at the Italian Football Federation", writes The Guardian, which announces that the officials of "Squadra Azzurra" canceled the press conference face to face, scheduled today, replacing it with a virtual one.

Two of those journalists are in London, where Italy played the semifinal with Spain, and the third is in Florence, in the Italian national team camp. They would not have come into direct contact with Italy's players, but they did participate in the team's press conferences.

The Italian Federation has decided to close the gates of the sports complex to protect the players and the technical staff. In addition, the conference room has been sanitized. The quoted source writes that the Italian footballers are vaccinated against COVID-19, but the Federation is afraid of the Delta strain.

"The group is completely vaccinated, and the players have never been very close to journalists, so the chances of an outbreak tend to zero. But it is better not to risk anything," writes Gazzetta Dello Sport.

The Italian delegation will leave for Luton Airport on Saturday morning at 11:00 local time.
