On Wednesday, members of Cagliari's management were caught talking to Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara, AC Milan's officials, and the subject of the meeting was the transfer of Răzvan Marin to Milan.

Cagliari set the price for Răzvan Marin
According to the information provided by the Italian journalist Daniele Longo, from Calciomercato, the people from Cagliari also sent to their counterparts from Milan the price for which Răzvan Marin can make the switch to "San Siro", 18,000,000 euros.

AC Milan considers, for the time being, that the financial demands of Cagliari are exaggerated, but the negotiations will continue in the coming days.
Along with AC Milan, in the race for Răzvan Marin is also Lyon, a club that sees the Romanian midfielder as the perfect replacement for Houssem Aouar, a footballer who can make the step to a more important club this summer, being monitored by Arsenal and Juventus.
Răzvan Marin played last season on loan at Cagliari, from Ajax, but the Italian club is obliged this summer to pay the final transfer clause, worth 10,000,000 euros.

Thus, a transfer for 18,000,000 euros to AC Milan would represent an important profit for Cagliari, registered shortly after the payment to Ajax.

In Italy, Răzvan Marin played in 39 games for Cagliari in the last season, in all competitions, being one of the basic players of the team that obtained the maintenance in Serie A with emotions. The Romanian midfielder scored three times and offered six more decisive passes.

If the transfer to AC Milan was made for the amount requested at the first "call" by Cagliari, 18,000,000 euros, Răzvan Marin would become the second most expensive Romanian footballer, after Adrian Mutu, for whom Chelsea paid 19,000,000 euros in 2003 to those from Parma.

AS Roma paid 18,000,000 euros for the transfer of Cristian Chivu in 2003.
