The European Championship 2020 will start on Friday, June 11, and will take place in 11 cities in Europe, including Bucharest. Romania's national team, unfortunately, missed the qualification and the losses are huge.

Four matches will be hosted on the National Arena, within the best paid European Championship in history. At least 9 million euros represents the amount that the Romanian Football Federation loses due to the failure of the qualification. Romania will be chosen, in the end, only with a bonus from UEFA.

In addition, our country lost a lot of money from other sources also due to the loss of attendance at this final tournament.

UEFA officials recently announced how the total amount of 371 million euros was distributed to the 24 representatives participating in the final tournament of the European Championship 2020 (June 11 - July 11), 20% more than in the previous edition.

Thus, each team qualified for the final tournament is guaranteed the amount of 9.25 million euros, while a victory in the group stage will be rewarded with 1.5 million euros and an equal of 750,000 euros.

Thus, the Euro 2020 winner will be able to collect up to 34 million euros throughout the competition, whose matches will be played in 11 cities in Europe, including Bucharest, the final being scheduled at Wembley Stadium in London.

In addition to these amounts, a total of 775 million euros will be distributed from the revenues generated by Euro 2020 to the 55 European federations for the 2020-2024 cycle, in the name of "solidarity", while the clubs will in turn distribute the amount of 200 million euros. , to make their players available to national teams.

Austria, Ukraine and Northern Macedonia will play on the National Arena, in Group C. In addition to three group stage matches, Bucharest will also host a game in the round of 16.
