SougarLord Posted May 11, 2021 Posted May 11, 2021 In May 2011, Barça arrived at the Ciutat de València with enough points for the tie to make them league champions. Six seasons later he returned to celebrate a championship in Orriols with an almost incontestable dominance. A decade has passed since that triumph and today the Catalans arrive with the need to overcome a Levante who, without going through their best moment, turns into an untrustworthy enemy every time a great steps on their stadium. Three of the whitest granota players, raised in La Fábrica, will take care of this with special interest. The opportunity to get Koeman's men out of the fight may pass through his boots. Levante has established excellent communication with Real Madrid, especially its president, Quico Catalán, with good ties in the offices of the Bernabéu. This has resulted in transfers such as Borja Mayoral's for two seasons or the purchase at an affordable price of some jewels from Madrid's quarry, within the white club's policy of limiting loans. Gonzalo Melero, Jorge De Frutos and Dani Gómez are good examples of this profitable relationship between clubs. Melero is one of the most talented midfielders on Paco López's squad. At the age of 27, he came to Levante after breaking his hand in First with Huesca. He entered Valdebebas very early, where he spent ten years covering all the stages of a youth squad until reaching Castilla. He is a member of the club, he trained children at La Fábrica and only when his arrival in the first team got uphill did he choose to go to Ponferradina and then join the Aragonese team, where he was a pillar of promotion. So much so that Villarreal signed a purchase option that he did not exercise due to the shadow left by his injuries. Levante joined him last season, but it wasn't until this that the midfielder brought out his talent, making Campaña's long absence due to injury more bearable. Paco López advanced his position to give him the freedom to enter the area and that has translated into five goals and one assist. Melero was a pillar in Levante's progression to the Cup semi-finals, but he was injured in the first leg against Athletic Bilbao. FOLLOWER OF THE GALACTICS Jorge de Frutos is another of the whites that Orriols has conquered. He did not miss a Galactic game at the bar in his small town of Segovia. A fast winger, at the age of 18 he stepped onto the pitch in the Rayo Majadahonda youth team, where he shone in the promotion to Segunda so much that Castilla incorporated him without hesitation. A season of transit in which he played 37 games before leaving on loan to make his debut in the First Division with Valladolid and then go to Rayo Vallecano. Levante has led to consolidation. Valued at five million, he paid 2.5 and made him a five-year contract in which Real Madrid reserves 50% of the rights to him. His fit in Paco López's team couldn't have been better. He has scored four goals and has given nine assists, the same as Leo Messi and one more than Benzema. The third player with origins in Valdebebas is Dani Gómez. The same year that Barça was champion in the Ciutat, this boy from Alcorcón entered the Real Madrid children's team. His numbers exploded in youth, with 32 goals and the brilliance of his own that he achieved fighting to go up to Second with Castilla. It is not surprising that Zidane wanted to see it up close than a preseason. However, he ended up on loan to Tenerife until Levante signed him in a pack with De Frutos and under the same conditions. His place has been more on the bench than in the eleven, overshadowed by the voracity of Roger and Morales, but his growth has not stopped. He proved it with the Sub'21, where his two goals in nine minutes against the Czech Republic put Spain in the quarterfinals of the European Championship. Today the three make Barcelona have a very white enemy in Orriols.
